| Kuwaiti filmed beating naked Egyptian arrested |

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Kuwaiti police said they have nabbedDrop the rod and step away witcher hands up! a citizen who appeared in a viral video assaulting a naked Egyptian expat, the Kuwait Times reported. There was outrage on social media over footage posted recently of a man dressed in a traditional Gulf white thobe insulting a naked Egyptian and hitting him with a stick and his hands. The video prompted Egypt’s Foreign Ministry to coordinate with Kuwaiti authorities over the incident. Kuwait’s Interior Ministry said the suspect has been arrested and identified as Ali al-Shamry, who made a "detailed confession." Shamry reportedly told police he assaulted the Egyptian, who works for him, after a theft occurred at the mobile store that he owns. Another Egyptian man was arrested for filming and posting the video online. An investigation into the case is in progress pending referral of the two suspects to public prosecution. |
