[THEHAYRIDE] Mayor Mitch Landrieu just lost a major court-battle that will demand he release lists of who is receiving lucrative city contracts.Landrieu has been battling with the Lens after they placed a public information request for the city’s purchasing database, according to a report by Robert McClendon of NOLA.com.
The city was fighting the Lens, claiming making the list of city contractors public would include personal information and should therefore not be subject to public records requests.
But, the records being fought over normally do not include personal information, despite what the administration claimed.
Now, Landrieu’s city government must work with the Lens in releasing the purchasing database to the public, which will show just who is making tons off the city’s lucrative contracts.
