Russian military journalist said that the Shtora system may have been turned off at the time of the hit. Another commenter said that the crew should have left a 125mm round chambered in the main gun, as the Shtora system will automatically turn the turret and return fire in the direction of the last laser detected once the vehicle has been lased.
