| Census Will Try to Count Muslims as a Race So as to Enhance Privileged Status |

 The federal government is considering allowing those of Middle Eastern and North African descent to identify as such on the next 10-year census, which could give Arab-Americans and other affected groups greater political clout and access to public funding, among other things. |

| #5 Glenmore, IIRC right now about the only thing the Census Bureau is NOT allowed to ask is religion. I really hope it stays that way -for precisely the reason you mentioned. |

| #1 I suspect CAIR, et al want to use this to claim greater Muslim numbers. But most Arab Americans are actually Christian, whereas most Muslim Americans are from the Indian subcontinent followed by African Americans (descended from slaves rather than having a Kenyan parent). |
