| Less here than appears: Ms. Duckworth was asking for a waiver of a long-established rule, and the Dems said no. The Pub House caucus has a similar rule, though if they enforced it to prevent a pregnant member from voting there would be howls from the feminazis. That said, I don't see why the caucus can't make an allowance here -- if they're afraid of proxy votes, let Ms. Duckworth Skype into the proceeding and vote that way. |
