[Libya Herald] Eight Egyptian men, caught in Beida dressed in women's black abayas and face veils, are being questioned as to their real motives in being in Libya. None was in possession of a Libyan visa in his passport.

yesterday at a checkpoint at on the outskirts of the town by soldiers from Security Battalion 405, according to the Libyan news agency LANA.
Battalion commander Abdul-Rahman Muftah said that members of his battalion became suspicious about the unaccompanied veiled women travelling together.

When challenged, the two drivers, both Libyans, refused to allow their vehicles to be searched and tried to drive off at speed. But members of the battalion opened fire, forcing them to stop. Muftah said that in the shooting one of the Egyptians was injured. |
