[Dawn] A one-year-old girl was diagnosed with type P1 of the polio virus in Bara's Malik Dinkhel area of Khyber tribal region.The latest case brings the total number of polio victims in the tribal region to eight, the highest in al of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
Bara area has been under curfew for the past three years barring access to anti-polio vaccinators.
Moreover, apart from militancy, unchecked cross border movement also contributes as a factor to the increasing number of polio cases in the region.
