| Tripoli airport attackers sentenced |

| [Libya Herald] Seven men found guilty of the attack last year on Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... International Airport were each handed prison sentences of two and a half years by Tripoli Military Court yesterday, Thursday. Twelve others involved in the attack who are still being sought were sentenced in absentia to five years in jail. On 4 June, last year, 200 members of Tarhouna's Al-Awfia brigade seized control of the aiport in retaliation for the abduction of its commander, Abu-Alija Habshi, the previous day. After sporadic festivities that lasted less than an hour, the Awfeya Brigade surrendered to the Union of the Revolutionaries of Tripoli. In the immediate aftermath, 172 Al-Awfia brigadesmen and others from Tarhouna were incarcerated. Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! The trial started on 28 August last year |
