North Korea has strongly criticized an upcoming military drill by the United States and South Korea, saying the 'mad' move increased the likelihood that the Norks will froth at the mouth and utter blood-curdling threats, perhaps doing something really stoopid but stopping short of instigating an actual war which would result in abrupt termination of the Kim dynasty followed by the South's reunification with its poor relatives..The exercises "prove South Korean warmongers are going crazier in provoking a war regardless of the people's desire for dialogue and peace," Pyongyang's government newspaper Minju Joson said on Wednesday.
"With South Korean warmongers' reckless war provocations, the inter-Korean relationship is worsening and the danger of war is increasing day by day," it said.
The newspaper added that the US-South Korea next joint military drill is due to take place despite Pyongyang's calls for dialogue.
The annual Key Resolve/Foal Eagle drill, starting next Monday and ending on March 10, will take place as tensions are still high in the Korean Peninsula after last year's deadly clash between the South and North Korean forces along the Koreas' disputed sea borders.
The fighting left four South Koreans, including two civilians, dead. Each side blames the other for initiating the clash.
Last year, the United States and South Korea conducted several massive joint sea and air drills in waters east of the peninsula.
Inter-Korean military talks aimed at easing tensions broke down this month.
