| King Abdullah calls for forming govt of national unity |

| BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Jordanian King Abdullah II received Wednesday Head of al-Iraqiya List, Iyad Allawi, and called for forming a government able to strengthen Iraq’s unity and sovereignty, media sources said on Thursday. “The meeting tackled a number of issues of common concern and the latest developments in Iraq,” Jordan’s al-Rai newspaper reported. The king stressed on the importance of forming a government able to achieve Iraqis’ ambitious, reiterating Jordan’s support to Iraq. “Allawi posted the monarch on the outcome of his recent tour, which took him to a number of Arab countries,” the newspaper noted. |
