With floodwaters gushing from breaches in the Manchhar lake embankment finally falling into the Indus near Karampur town, officials of the Sindh government and Pakistan Army have heaved a sigh of relief. According to irrigation officials, the swollen lake was receding rapidly on Saturday. They said the water level in the lake had fallen to 118RL (reduced level) from 121RL
The officials said that more than 100,000 cusecs of water was flowing from the lake and making its way to the river through human settlements.
