Islamic Society of North America has picked a lawyer and educator from Chicago as its new secretary-general. Safaa Zarzour will be the top executive of the Plainfield-based organization, which is the country's largest Muslim group. ISNA president Ingrid Mattson says Zarzour's commitment to the formation of responsible and engaged American Muslim youth will help the organization.
However he declined to say exactly what the youth would be engaged in, and what they would be responsible for.
