The Muttahida Majils-e-Amal will quit the NWFP government and the Balochistan coalition if opposition parties unite against the “dictatorship,” MMA leader Liaqat Baloch told reporters here after his party held a meeting with a European Union delegation on Saturday.“We have no alliance with President General Pervez Musharraf. We should not be forced to quit the NWFP government alone. All political parties have to play their due role,” he added. MMA Secretary General Maulana said, “We have told the EU delegation that on the one hand they champion the cause of democracy and on the other they support military dictatorship.” He said rumors were rife that the assemblies were going to be dissolved. He said transparent elections could be held only if President General Pervez Musharraf doffs his uniform, adding that the government was creating confusion on the issue of elections.
