Colorado Republican Representative Tom Tancredo made it official Monday morning, announcing his bid for President of the United States. Tancredo, a Denver native, made the announcement during a radio appearance in Des Moines, Iowa. Iowa holds the nationÂ’s first political caucuses, which will take place in January 2008. Tancredo is among the most vocal advocates in Congress on the issue of securing the United States border with Mexico and cracking down on illegal immigration. He and his wife, Jackie, have been married for 30 years and have two children and five grandchildren.
