Finance and Planning Minister M Saifur Rahman said Thursday the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) should take initiatives to close down the banks in Switzerland if they really want to curb corruption globally."The Swiss banks should be closed first by the IMF and the WB to start the fight against corruption," Saifur told reporters in response to a query about the donors' intention, aired in the recently concluded meeting in Singapore, to go tough against corruption.
"Corrupt people around the world keep their money in the Swiss banks," he added, after emerging from the meeting of the cabinet committee on national purchase.
