Rantburg continues to grow, and it's now typical for us to have 100+ posts and 500+ comments a day. Please help us make this work. We (that is, Fred) are making site improvements such as the duplicates checker, and the mods are working to keep the posts moving. Contributors can help us substantially by doing the following to posts --
Please edit posts down. Many wire-service reports include duplicate information -- stuff that Rantburgers already know, or stuff that's been included in a previous post today (or yesterday). Fred calls it 'fluff', and he's right. Please edit the fluff out. Consider this your opportunity to improve the quality of the newswires by teaching them how to edit.
When editing, there's no need for elipses, 'EFL' tags, etc. We assume you're doing this.
Please put the source URL into the source box. Mods simply do not have time to hunt these down. If you forget a source, we'll very likely delete the post.
Your pithy, snarky comments go in highlight text on a separate line, NOT in-line. Don't include a leading or trailing line.
Pithy, snarky in-line comments are usually done in strike-through text.
Please don't over-use bold or italics text; it makes a post tougher to read.
Mods will push long articles into Page 49.
