Guantanamo Bay detainee David Hicks has moved another step closer to being granted British citizenship after the British Court of Appeal announced it would refuse any further appeals by the Government. The British Government had lost two previous appeals to Royal Courts of Justice.Hicks is pinning his hopes on British citizenship as a way out of the Guantanamo Bay detention centre, where he has spent the past four years. The British Government has successfully lobbied for the release of nine of its British nationals. David Hicks's father, Terry, says the British Government will be under pressure to do the same for his son if he is granted citizenship following the latest legal victory, announced on Friday.
