Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday signalled disillusionment with the American-backed roadmap for peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Addressing a multitude of Palestinian women in Ramallah, Abbas said the Palestinian people would not accept a state with interim borders."A state with temporary borders is not compulsory; it was voluntary. And we reject it outright." Abbas said he was against all forms of unilateral Israeli measures in the occupied Palestinian territories of the West Bank.
Abbas had earlier advised the Fatah movement to consider wisely Hamas' invitation for joining a government of national unity.
