TEHERAN - Iran complained on Friday that a call by its hardline president for Israel to be âwiped off the mapâ had been exaggerated by foreign media and played down the controversial remarks as being nothing new.Ali Larijani, one of the regimeâs most senior figures, said Mahmoud Ahmadinejadâs speech had been subject to âabusive misinterpretationâ by âcertain Western media and certain countriesâ.
