| People vs. The Government(s) in New Orleans |

| The authors, Larry Bradshaw and Lorrie Beth Slonsky, were attending a paramedics’ conference in New Orleans, staying in the French Quarter, when the hurricane hit. Afterward, they were in the same situation as other survivors in the city: no food, no water, no transportation, and no help from the outside world: In a nutshell, the feds wanted them out of the city ASAP, and the local police and sheriffs wouldn't let them leave or form camps. |
