| Red Ken embarrasses Blair with ’hang Saudi royals’ outburst |

| One of those WTF? moments. Tony Blair faced renewed embarrassment at the hands of Ken Livingstone yesterday after the London mayor expressed a desire to see the royal family of Saudi Arabia hanged in public. Just three months after he was readmitted to the Labour Party, Mr Livingstone sparked controversy by appearing to call for the death of the country’s ruling al-Saud dynasty and their replacement by a "proper government". He also accused President George W Bush of corruption, urged Israelis to imprison their prime minister Ariel Sharon, and repeated his call for a 50 per cent higher-rate tax on incomes above £100,000 a year.
