JUS [Jihad Unspun] received unconfirmed reports sometime ago that the Supreme leader of Taliban and unemployed potentate Commander of the Faithful Mullah Mohammad Omar was wounded in a bombing raid on Kabul approximately two weeks ago. We chose not to release this unconfirmed information as we endeavored to confirm this information at source. Since that time, reports of Mullah Omar’s alleged injuries had made their way to mainstream press. Today we publish the original information we received in an effort to quell any more rumors. We emphasis the information that follows has not been confirmed at source and until it is, must be considered with caution.
On or about March 11, 2004, it is alleged that Mullah Omar was the target of a missile attack that killed four of his bodyguards and seriously injured Omar himself. It is said that he received injuries to the left side of his body and both of his legs. The attack was allegedly carried out in Zabul during a Shura council meeting. Other senior Taliban leaders are said to have not been injured. Again, we remind our viewers this information. We will update this report as we are able to confirm these alleged events. |
