[NBCNews] NBC News has projected overall control of the House of Representatives even as we are continuing to project individual races. Based on our Decision Desk analysis, Democrats are poised to win at least 244 seats. The NBC News Decision Desk's House model uses past and current vote counts to estimate the total number of seats that the Democrats and Republicans will win in the House. The model does not use any polling, including exit polls, in its estimation. Below, find the latest seat count.

Decision Desk HQ projects Democrats will win control of the House of Representatives.
Democrats will now have subpoena power, meaning they can force Trump administration officials to testify under oath and hand over records.
One prominent DC lawyer told NewsNation his “phone is blowing up” with people trying to hire him ahead of possible House investigations into the Trump administration.
Ted Cruz predicts Democrats will go after Trump and his family, impeach Pete Hegseth, and BLOCK any Supreme Court pick for two years.
Get ready for two years of “all-out partisan war.”
CRUZ: “I think Schumer and the Democrats will just halt all judges, which means if we have a Supreme Court vacancy, I think they’ll keep the vacancy open for two years.”
“I don’t think they care because their base is that radicalized.”
“I think we will also see two years of relentless impeachment. I believe the House will impeach Donald Trump if they have the House. They may impeach him multiple times.”
“We will see subpoenas. We will see investigations. I think they will go after President Trump. I think they will go after his family. I think they will go after cabinet members.”
“I expect in the lame duck we will see an impeachment of Pete Hegseth.”

The American voter is so stupid. Fell completely for orange man bad and put in some of the worst people on the planet. Enjoy your next two years of constant fighting and nothing working but more and more of your rights stripped from you.
The RNC did itself no favors either. Hot civil war is now guarantied.

President Trump will do key things by executive order, and DOJ lawsuits and prosecutions aided and abetted by private citizens like Data Republican and Nick Shirley and those who are copying their methods — like James O’Keefe on steroids. More will get done at the state level by Republican governors and legislatures. And JD Vance will spend a lot more time In the Senate waiting to see if he’ll get to make the tie-breaking 51st vote, probably looking for fraud and waste to put that time to good use instead of running of to Iran and such to negotiate.
Not as exciting as proper legislation to lock things in stone, but Senator Thune and his cronies were not prepared to do the work anyway.

Thanks, Donald. And I can hardly wait to hear what the Trumptard apologists on social media will say, especially those who said the GOP would actually gain seats in the House.
As I type this, it appears the Senate will be under Dem control now, too. Even worse with the RINOs.

I hit the sack when Bottoms was announced as having defeated Jackson for Governor of Ga. I'm trying to not think about what will come next. Oregon Dave nails it at #3.
Pan 49 comment #10 from yesterday below. Pan may be right. Trump could throw in the towel after this one.

NC is a perfect example. 3 constitutional amendments passed with 60% - voter ID, cap on income tax, property tax. People like Republican policies. They just don't realize the policies they like are conservative/Republican because they have been told Republicans are the extremists. The party has not done a good job pushing back against that false narrative. It is so pervasive in the media that it is taken as a given.
My only shred of hope to offer tonight: the left got wiped out this bad in the midterms multiple times and kept marching right through the institutions. So must we.

It's the big lie, folks. Day in and day out the mainstream media pumps Democrat Party propaganda into the minds of the American people. It works and the results are catastrophic.

Watch for Adam Schiff to start his routine again immediately after the new Dem senators are seated. The stench of all that bullshit will be unbearable.

"The people of Texas were my slingshot. And together we defeated Goliath."
The States with relatively strong voter ID, e.g., Georgia had about as much of a winning night as the States with relatively weak voter ID, e.g. MN
---------
Calif also has weak voter ID but we won't know outcome for a few days. Also there is a voter ID proposition on the ballot in Calif.

The people wanted Caesar.
But we got the deal maker.
The alternatives were far worse.
I think we got the best hand that was available.
Hopefully the stage is set for a war President.
Because, it is not working.
25 years of decline, has been horrible to watch.

It seems the grandchildren of the American Century didn't want or understand their inheritance! Their parents apparently didn't do much to tell them about it and never really understood what they were given.
I plan to bunker-in, turn my eyes from thoughts of the future and enjoy the moments each day. I think my window closes before the really ugly stuff begins locally.

-The biggest single reason the Republicans lost was cost of living. I think most of us had enough slack in our budgets to handle the cost of food, gas, utilities and the other monthly expenses. How many are struggling to meet bills? Or as I posted the other day, can't afford anything?
None of us are the 'average voter' almost all of us make an effort to educate ourselves on issues the 'average voter' doesn't care about what's happening in Europe, Israel or the rest of the Middle East (aside of how it affects gas prices).
I live in 810 sq ft condo that valued at between $175,000 to $225,000. A 1 bedroom apt of the same size rents from $1500 to $1700 a month. How many single people under 30 can afford that and the normal monthly expenses of food, gas, phone and utilities?
-The conflict in Iran. By any reasonable military standard, it very successful. Politically it was a burden on Trump and the election
-tired of long term/career politicians. Even CT Democrats rejected a 28-year incumbent for a 47-year-old former mayor from Hartford

"The Brutal Shifts in Demographic Groups That Doomed Us
—Disinformation Expert Ace
I started bolding the important parts but I stopped because it's all bold-faced important.
Dmitri Bolt:
According to preliminary exit polling data from an SSRS Voter Poll, Latino men shifted 33-points toward Republicans in 2024 before swinging 24 points back toward Democrats in 2026. Latinos overall moved 27-points right before shifting 20-points left last night, while Catholics followed a 25-point Republican swing with a 16-point Democratic reversal.
The biggest reversal came among voters ages 18-29, whose 13-point shift toward Republicans in 2024 was overwhelmed by a 35-point swing toward Democrats last night. Suburban voters swung 20 points toward Democrats after moving six points right in 2024, while Asian voters shifted 25 points left after moving 12 points right.
The losses also extended to groups often associated with the Republican base. Men shifted four-points toward Republicans between 2020 and 2024, then swung 11 points toward Democrats in the preliminary 2026 results. Voters without a college degree moved 11 points right in 2024 before shifting seven-points back left, while households earning $50,000--$99,999 followed a 20-point Republican shift with an 11-point Democratic reversal. Even rural and small-town voters moved 15-points right before swinging 11 points back toward Democrats.
Did the electorate decide we were too "harsh" on immigration by deporting illegals, including dangerous predatory illegal alien criminals?
Maybe. Keep in mind, people are stupid and weak-minded. We've seen for decades that the public agrees that taxes should be cut and that the budget should be balanced, but then cry that you're being too meeeean when you actually cut government spending and firing goldbricking federal "workers" at useless money-pits like USAID.
They want all the benefits of fiscal sanity without the meeeean actions required to enact it.
Similary, the public may have decided they don't like open borders or illegals flooding our nation. But they think it's too meeeean to actually seal the borders and deport the illegals.
Remember when Kamala Harris' big contribution as Border Czar was to say to illegals, "Don't come"?
It could be that the sad fact is that while the public does want the border secured, the "meanest" action they will accept to secure it is a drunken sixty-year-old ex-partygirl mistress telling people "Don't come." Anything more than that is "extreme."
Update: I wonder if, starting six months ago, Trump let up on the deportation raids. And then restarted them after the midterms -- similar to his easing off on Iran with the promise of action after the midterms.
It is pretty firmly established that gas prices drove votes...."

Bingo. Chantry nails it. Most people aren't ideological. They don't care about the Middle East, abortion, gun control, or transgender issues. What they DO care about is their lives getting more expensive, harder, and less fun because of transportation costs. Trump hung that around his own neck with the Iran war and tariffs. And the Republicans are going to spend years in the wilderness because of it.

The worst of this election is that the Democrats are going to control the Senate to at least 2030, possibly longer. Let's hope the conservatives on SCOTUS court remain healthy.

While Jeffries is likely to be the next speaker of the House and Schumer the Senate majority leader, it's not written in stone, the infighting should generate some snickers.
The same applies to the very far left being a major annoyance to the Democratic careerists who recognize that moving too far to the left will cost them their precious congressional seats

@6 Unless the Secret Service is hopelessly compromised, their chances are pretty good. Presidential and VP details are much harder to get past than a presidential nominee detail. Some of the agents assigned were not normally on protection details but were pulled into the field due to more experienced agents being assigned to protect foreign dignitaries.

If you believe the Democrats campaigned and won on "affordability", I have a bridge to sell you. Its in a high traffic area--you'll love it!
They won first because they embedded a 10 percent or more cushion for fraudulent votes. And secondly they won because women will *always* vote for the "let's have the right to kill our babies" candidates. We can't fix the second cause until we take back control of our churches (1st) and then later our schools and colleges.

...while Catholics followed a 25-point Republican swing with a 16-point Democratic reversal.

Here's an example of what I referenced in my previous post. IF you are a true Catholic (yeah, I know of the "No true Scotsman" fallacy), you can't vote for a (current) Democrat. You can't vote for El Sayed. You can't vote for the faggot in Texas. Your faith is supposed to mean everything to you, not just something that you slip on once a week (or less) when you decide to go to church.
