[PJ] Things have gotten even darker, if that's imaginable, in the Oregon school shooting case.
Authorities investigating the rampage in Bend, Ore., last week are exploring whether the 16-year-old mass murderer may have been motivated by connections to an online nihilistic, satanic sex cult.
The former special education student at Silver Rail Elementary School shot his way through a school-shooter deterrent door and killed three children, ages 5, 7, and 11, and a 25-year-old teacher. Another child who was confined to a wheelchair was shot in the face and remains, along with an adult, in the hospital.
That’s former special ed. student John J. Griffin, 16, child of a single mother who’d bought the 12 gauge, pump action shotgun he used for his birthday. The hero dad who stopped him is carpenter Kaylub Giamanco, 36, who has two daughters in the school; he stopped Griffin at the front door before he ran round to gain entry by shooting the lock off the back door, after which Mr. Giamanco shot him dead mere minutes later.
Right after the shooting, investigators converged on Griffin J. John II's family home, confiscating his personal items, including his electronics.
Independent reporter Andy Ngo and the Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) now report that investigators are following leads to determine if John's was associated with the notorious 764 cult.
764 is a decentralized, internationally operating online sextortion network. It emerged in 2021 from the CVLT network. 764 has been described as a Satanic and neo-Nazi cult by some in the media, but investigations suggest that its members' misanthropic worldview and sadistic tendencies are more significant drivers. So not a jihadi or a narco-ganster, but just a boy seduced to the lurid pleasures of viciousness.
Federal authorities have prioritized prosecutions of the leaders of this cult, which they describe as "an international child exploitation enterprise known as '764,' a nihilistic violent extremist (NVE) network."

I have. It isn't the game, it is the chat, and some of the chat is out there, man. And they will pontificate.
Emotionally stunted mid teen boy with no real life friends in a THC very friendly culture, very different than the Satanic Panic, even though I was a GURPS player.
Let's call it water hole theory. Different games attract different players, Call of Duty vs. Kirbil vs. the myriad of dinosaur games. Kids love dinosaurs, so they play dinosaur games. Pedos love kids, so they play dinosaur games, make friends, get into chats and private chats, sweet talk NAMBLA things, and start asking for pictures. If that sounds specific, it is.
Not to excuse this fuck, or his mother who is all cutesy selfie look no dad! These are fatherless kids who were raised by Covid Panic mothers and also have easy access to medical grade and beyond drugs. The incel is a real thing, I've left game groups because of them.
*I'm going to get a bit wild here: The Squishy Fad, I think it is because the kids grew up with no tactile experience other than holding a screen. Why I think certain adults super into it is both irrelevant and not fair to those who are probably just having a good time with a fad, connecting with the younglings.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Bodycam footage captured the moment a 13-year-old boy asked armed police 'is he dead?' as he was arrested for allegedly shooting his teacher.
Newly released footage showed middle school student Ryker Teel being tackled to the ground moments after allegedly opening fire outside Highland Middle School in Hobbs, New Mexico, on September 25. White punk
The teenager was arrested following a brief manhunt after his teacher Kelly Matthews was found severely injured outside the school.
The footage showed the moment a school staffer called 911 after finding Matthews, telling a dispatcher he was bleeding profusely and had been 'either stabbed or shot out behind the school.'
After a police officer jumped a fence and sprinted over to Matthews, the injured teacher was heard saying he was ambushed out of the blue and could not recall his attacker.
'I don’t know, I don’t know. They were standing and facing that corner right there and I came out and they turned around and they just started firing and took off running,' Matthews said.
Matthews then said the shooter was wearing some kind of mask, and gave a description of a white male in a black hoodie, black pants and long white T-shirt.
That description was relayed to police, and Teel was apprehended within minutes as he was spotted walking near the school.
The footage, first shared by KCBD, showed officers quickly surrounding Teel when they took him into custody, ordering him to get on the ground and not to run.
When asked his name, the baby-faced student responded, 'Ryker Teel, sir.'
As the teenager was hauled to his feet in handcuffs, he then asked: 'Is he dead?'
Teel continued: 'I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Is he dead?'
When Teel was interviewed by police with his parents present, he allegedly confessed to stealing a gun from their home safe when detectives left the interview room, according to a police report.
Teel allegedly then admitted to taking the gun to school to shoot 'anyone,' and not specifically the man he hit, the police report said.
Teel is now facing charges of aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and making shooting threats.
Police said Matthews suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the attack, including direct hits to his stomach and hip as well as grazes from other bullets.
His daughter told KOAT at the time that he was walking between school buildings when the shooting unfolded, and said it was a random attack when he 'came across the suspect.'
She said she was thankful her father was alive, and speculated that he could have been the first victim in a planned mass shooting that did not come to fruition.
'Thoughts and prayers are not enough, and something has to change. I’m so tired. I mean, it could have been another Sandy Hook, and I’m so exhausted,' Matthews's daughter said.
'I’ve got a 4-week-old baby that I’m about to send off to school one day, and reform needs to happen.'
Matthews's family say he has left hospital and is focusing on his recovery at a rehab center.
Teel's parents said in a statement via their attorney: 'We are deeply saddened and heartbroken over the tragic event that took place at Hobbs Highland Middle School. We have and will continue to pray for the well-being and healing of the victim, his family, and the community.'

Curious where these children learn these skills and thoughts?
Could it be Video games and then wanting to do it in real life?
Like that 11y/o by 2016 caught stealing daddies car to mimic playing GTA? (yes 10 yrs ago)
LIKELY OUTCOME
Being 13 y/o he "might" do 8 years in Juvie, and be out to do it again.
Whenever Daily Mail puts an empathy note into a headline about a stone cold killer, I wonder what else is going on.
I wouldn't say it would be video games, per se, and as my daughter was telling me at that age about gummy challenges, if he was in the habit of an edible and video games, it is the chat room which is the influencer, not the game. Daughter would tell me about the games and groups she liked, ruined by a blowhard who would just talk over everyone about a political position; to influence. [Like Clyde]

[NYP] A 27-year-old miscreant allegedly beheaded one of the soldiers on the Iwo Jima statue at the US Marine Corps Base Quantico with a sledgehammer — causing an estimated hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.
Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, 27,
…is he here legally or illegally?
was caught by cops hacking at the replica of the famous World War II US Marine flag-raising at the Virginia base at around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday night, Fox 5 DC reported, citing police.
Maldonado Soriano was slapped with felony destruction of property, trespassing with intent to damage property, and felony injury to a monument charges, the outlet reported.
The alleged sledgehammer nut is being held without bond.
The statue at the US Marine Base Quantico — located around 36 miles south of Washington DC — was sculpted from limestone by Felix de Weldon in 1954 and honors all Marines who have died in defense of the country since 1775.

Let him rot in jail for five to ten years and then deport him. If he tries to cross the border again, shoot him.

I'm not usually the kind to advocate shooting people but when they invade my country and commit crimes it's war and that's the kind of thing that happens in war. I don't want it to be that way but if they do then give 'em hell.

I wonder how many current and former Marines are in the GenPop in the Prince William County Jail System?
Perhaps Miguel will encounter some of them soon?

One OS trip sometime after Alien and Top Gun, I bumped into this fellow during a fogged in LAX layover. His flight had also been delayed and he was huddled away from the masses, parka incognito with his hood up.
We got to chatting (I was much more pleasant then) and eventually went to the bar for a beer and a Bulls game. Nice guy.
Ordering beers, the bartender asked "Why do you look familiar?"
His reply, "I have no idea."

[Regnum] A book by the Dutch Renaissance philosopher Erasmus, thought lost, has been discovered after 400 years. This was reported on October 22 by DutchNews.
How exciting!
It was offered to the Rotterdam Library by an American antiquarian familiar with Erasmus's collection. The edition in question is La civilité puerile, a short essay by the thinker on good manners for children, published in French in 1609. Specifically, the author advises sitting down to the table only after a child has washed their hands and trimmed their nails. Other advice includes wishing good health to anyone who sneezes. Another piece of advice reads: "It is utterly absurd to make trumpet sounds with your nose: leave that to buglers and elephants."
Library curator John Tholen said the book's return after four centuries was a very special event.
"We also discovered an unknown fragment of Erasmus's history and influence. This copy is the only one surviving in the world from a print run that may have numbered a thousand," Tholen noted.
The acquired copy will be presented to the public for the first time on October 24.
The Rotterdam Erasmus collection is the largest in the world. It includes over 3,000 books by the thinker published before 1900, and another 3,000 books and articles about him.
Another work of art, thought lost for over 400 years, was discovered in September 2025 in a Parisian mansion. It is a painting by the Dutch (Flemish) artist Peter Paul Rubens, "Christ on the Cross." Art historian Neil Buttner confirmed the artist's work. Rubens most likely painted the painting for a private collection. The piece is in very good condition. The local auction house Osenat noted that this canvas had never been seen on the market before. The painting sold for €2.3 million (approximately 209 million rubles) on November 30th of last year at auction in Versailles.

"It was like any other night," Davis told local outlet WRAL.
[DM] A massive earthquake of magnitude 7 struck Tibet today, just two months after devastating Nepal glacier flood.
China's Earthquake Networks Centre (CENC) said the quake struck at around 10.30pm local time (2.30pm UK time).
Data indicated the epicentre was in a high-altitude county in Nagqu, northern Tibet, at a depth of 6.21 miles.
It struck around 250 miles away from the Tibetan capital of Lhasa. CENC said the tremor was felt in the local area.
It is not whether anyone has been injured or killed following the latest earthquake.
Just last year, a 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck Tibet's Tingri County. Up to 400 people were killed in the region alone, while a further 13 were killed in Nepal.
Damage was seen in northern India, while the tremors were felt across south Asia.
Tibet is among the most earthquake-prone regions in the world. It sits on top of both the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.

[Regnum] A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck the Tibet Autonomous Region in western China. At least 16 people were killed, the Xinhua news agency reported on October 23.
According to the China Earthquake Network Center (CENC), a magnitude 7.0 earthquake was recorded in Baqing County, Nagchu City, with a focal depth of 10 km. Later, a magnitude 7.1 tremor occurred in Xizang.
“As a result, 16 people were killed and more than 30 were injured,” the agency clarified.
On October 22, staff at the Altai-Sayan branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported an earthquake in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. The tremor was recorded at 9:42 AM Moscow time, 204 km from Karamay. The epicenter was 287 km from the Russian border and 145 km from Kazakhstan, with a magnitude of 3.4.
On August 26, a devastating rock and ice avalanche in Nepal triggered an earthquake. The Lhende River was blocked, causing water to overflow its banks and flooding areas downstream of the Bhote Koshi and Trisuli rivers. Large-scale flooding also affected China's Tibet Autonomous Region. More than 1,200 people died.
[LakePowellWaterData] link goes to the lake water data base where you can see a recent rise in the lake level
this rise is a very welcome thing as the lake level went low enough to set off warnings
the rise was due to monsoon rains and incoming pacific storms
A pacific storm (with some tropical input) is occurring now (am local time 22 Oct) which will add a lot of water to the various lakes, e.g., Navajo, Powell, Mead. Main branch rivers may reach flood stage briefly but likely will not flood dangerously. Tributaries might reach dangerous levels. This could be the beginning of a welcome wet period that will replenish the various watersheds.

The problem isn't global warming or climate change as Governor Newsom asserts. We've always had dry years and wet years. The problem is that we've doubled California's population since 1970 without adding any water storage. Then they tell us to stop watering our lawns.

I think a bigger problem than urban usage is agriculture usage.
For example, the Yuma area supplies about 90% of the USA's lettuce in winter months. It requires about 2 acre ft of water per acre to grow two crops of lettuce per year (some places grow 3).

CA Proposition 1, passed in 2014 was a $7.5 billion bond initiative to improve various aspects of water quality and storage statewide. $2.75 billion was specifically set aside for water storage. The only major resevoir planned is the Sites Resevoir Project south of Sacramento, scheduled to begin constriction in 2027 with completion in 2033 - 19 years after the general obligation bond was passed and issued.

I hear people complain about agricultural water use. I try to be gentle when I tell them the farmers were here before they were.
I don't really want to pay for any more reservoirs. My policy these days is to vote no on any bond issue or tax increase that ever makes it to the ballot. The reason is that the politicians have proven again and again that they will steal the money. They want money and they want power and they are none to particular how they go about getting it. If that means importing millions of hobos, illegal aliens and H1B workers, they'll do it.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that California, as big as it is and contrary to what the politicians seem to think, isn't big enough for everybody in the whole wide world to live here.

[Daily Signal] A former Ukrainian diplomat who was at one point set to give negative testimony about Hunter Biden’s business links appears to have wrongly had his visa to the United States revoked, according to newly released documents.
The White House Task Force on Government Transparency and Election Integrity released the information to reporters late Wednesday about the State Department and Treasury Department taking action in 2020 to revoke the visa of Andrii Telizhenko, the Ukrainian diplomat. Telizhenko had worked for the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington.
Republican Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin had called him to testify in early 2020, shortly after the first President Donald Trump impeachment, regarding the president’s phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in which Trump inquired about then-former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden’s links to the energy company Burisma.
Democrats accused Telizhenko of promoting Russian disinformation.

The way the pardons were worded, they covered actions during a particular period — I believe 2015-January 20, 2025. Anything outside that time is fair game.
[PJ] Democrats are plotting to weaponize the federal government against Elon Musk if they win back the House or Senate next month.
Musk has his own revenge planned, and he just put them on notice.
According to a Politico report published Tuesday, senior Democrats have assembled a sprawling list of congressional investigations targeting Musk and his businesses, and the list keeps growing. Musk is the world's richest man and the GOP's biggest donor, and that second detail is the only reason Democrats are going after him. Several committees are already weighing how to target him and his companies.
This is a huge deal. Democrats haven't won anything yet, and they're already drawing up an enemies list. We knew they were going to go after Trump with another never-ending quest to find something they can claim is a crime so they can put the country through another bogus impeachment. But this is even worse, if that’s even possible. They aren't campaigning on lower prices, safer streets, or a secure border. Their pitch to voters boils down to handing them subpoena power so they can punish a private citizen who supports Trump and the GOP.

Liberal Socialists and Democrats (LSD's)
sure act and attack political enemies and threats like Fascists.
Each day they come off more and more like some Wally World or Street Mega-Karen's in action.
GOD help us if they get power again. Because there will be serious internal conflicts as they threaten or steal basic rights. Just as they have historically done many times over their 200+ political past years.

But it was worth it to stop them from nuking our ally Israel.
