Clarice: The Use and Misuse of Science
[AT] Elon Musk has made engineering the heroic, progressive enterprise we once thought it was, not the diddly work of guys in short sleeves with pocket protectors.

In the same week that Elon Musk demonstrates his latest innovation -– a flying car -- Jeffrey Tucker examines Dr. Anthony Fauci’s diary entries.

These entries cover the period December 2021 to May 2023, which Tucker calls “the darkest months of the Covid era.” In the case of Musk, we see science in action, opening new and exciting possibilities. As for Fauci, we see a disturbing pattern of misusing his position to hide his role in the lab creation of COVID-19. Tucker compares the Fauci efforts to Lady Macbeth’s attempts to erase evidence of her role in murder.

The crisis facing American boys might trace back to one essential problem
[FoxNews] Millions of boys grow up without fathers at home and without male role models in overwhelmingly female-led schools

America spends a great deal of time talking about what has gone wrong with young men.

They are falling behind in building families and in their careers. Too many lack direction, discipline, purpose and confidence. Many worry about pornography, loneliness, video games, declining marriage rates, anger, apathy and more.

Yet remarkably little attention is paid to a more fundamental question: Who should be forming boys to become men? For much of American history, the answer was men themselves.

Before education became synonymous with brick-and-mortar classrooms, a boy learned first from his father, then from a career mentor, from older male relatives and from other leading men in his community. Education certainly included literacy and arithmetic, but also scripture, history, duty, courage, self-control and how a man was expected to conduct himself.

At least until reformers such as Horace Mann came on the scene. Mann, known as "the father of American education," wanted standardized education across the country, which required enormous numbers of teachers. Women, who were up until then typically homemakers, became the answer.

Some argued women were naturally nurturing and morally suited to shape children. Still, others noticed something else. Finding inexpensive labor for the growing number of schools became a priority. Women at that time could be paid considerably less than men.

Mann asked in 1838 why communities should pay male teachers $25 or $30 monthly when women could do the job for roughly half the price. By 1870, nearly 90% of Massachusetts teachers were women.

Industrialization further transformed fatherhood. Boys who once watched their fathers work on farms, in workshops and running family businesses increasingly saw less and less of their fathers who began working elsewhere. Fathers became primarily breadwinners while others assumed responsibility for children’s formation.

Consider then what happens when these two realities intersect. Millions of boys are growing up without a father in the home. And classrooms are overwhelmingly led by women. Some boys may go through their most formative years — during which they develop confidence, courage, resilience and the ability to handle frustration — without a consistent male role model in the places they spend most of their time.

This raises a serious question: Who is teaching America’s boys how to become good, responsible men? Should we really be surprised too many boys are struggling when good male role models are so scarce in their daily lives, especially in education?

Boys need meaningful exposure to good men who take intellectual and moral development seriously. Men who teach boys to turn aggression into protection, competitiveness into excellence, physical strength into service and eventually sexual desire into restraint, responsibility and commitment.

#1  I would argue that in the case of a family being raised absent a father, that the particular father in question wouldn't have been any good for raising children.
If they're made to stay against their nature, they're not any good for the task anyway.
You gotta want to be a dad, not a babydaddy.

How about the US Congress or State Leg. passing a support and responsibility law?

A law that requires the mother to ID the Baby Daddy, and requires that person to pay child support, instead of the Taxpayers?

What If they don't have a job?
Then ## Hours of Community Services per week or weekends, that the Taxpayers would fork out $$$$ to have done.

And our society is freaking gay. The gay vag needs to be removed because my black thug homies kids are more queer looking than Mike Tyson's voice.

Now if the black GTA roleplayers are having kids that look fem, we have problems with masculinity in our culture. Lack off.

Epstein Conspiracy: How Russia Turned a Lie About Jeffrey Epstein Into a Weapon Against America, Israel, and Jews
[DavidReaboi] In The Epstein Conspiracy, David Reaboi, a longtime writer on political warfare and information operations, shows that Russia very likely manufactured, laundered, and activated that lie as information warfare. Its real target is America’s capacity to reason about its own national interests.

The Jewish Question has returned to the center of American political life. Claims of hidden Jewish control that once lived on the white-nationalist fringe now run through mainstream broadcasts on the Right and the Left. Their entry point was a single lie: that Jeffrey Epstein ran a sexual-blackmail operation for Israeli intelligence. It has convinced millions of Americans that their leaders are compromised and their wars are fought on Israel’s orders.

Reaboi traces the claim from a single discredited source, through progressively more credible outlets and Russian state media, to America’s largest podcasts. He then tests the case against the criteria once used to attribute Soviet disinformation: operational signature, strategic interest, and institutional architecture.

The book also contains the first English translation of excerpts from Aleksandr Dugin’s Konspirologiya, annotated by Reaboi. They reveal the doctrine behind the operation: antisemitic conspiracy theories as weapons against an open society. Reaboi argues that the United States must move beyond content moderation, treat such operations as foreign attacks, and identify and disrupt the intelligence services and operators behind them.

Trump intel chief warns AI firms on hacks, says new department is the 'cop on the beat'
[FoxNews] DNI Jay Clayton says the government intervened after Anthropic models went rogue

President Donald Trump's intelligence chief is putting AI companies on notice — warning they must take responsibility when their technology hacks websites as Washington moves to establish new safeguards against the rapidly advancing technology.

"Well, let me be clear. Hacking of a government website, hacking of a private sector website — if your product does that, you are responsible," Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, who was recently charged with heading the newly announced Super Intelligence Force (SIF) said Saturday on "My View with Lara Trump."

The SIF will also be led by FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Department of War Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael and OPM Director Scott Kupor, who will report to Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

Addressing recent reports that Anthropic models submitted a visa application to the State Department and even a false homicide tip to the police, Clayton said that the government had already intervened.

"We immediately told Anthropic, 'You need to get in there and assist the entities that have had this happen to them, patch their systems and prevent this from happening again.' And I fully expect them to do that," he said.

He rejected the notion that these increasingly autonomous AI systems operate within a "life of their own" that absolves companies from responsibility.

"I think there's been a reset, and it's now our job to enforce that reset," he said.

The SIF was given 120 days to recommend AI guardrails to the president that will keep Americans safe without stifling innovation.

Clayton said he would focus on the "issues of the moment" when it comes to autonomous agents going rogue, which he laid out in three categories: detection, reporting and response.

"We know that there are going to be incidents in the development and application of super intelligence... How do participants in the marketplace report those to the government in a timely and comprehensive way to enable us to react and them to react in the best interest of the American people?"

He said Americans want to know "that we are the cop on the beat," and that the government is requiring frontier labs "to address any harms."

Europe
Stop pretending the French riots are anything but an attack on civilization
[NYPost] France is seeing its worst riots in decades — violence clearly aimed not simply at the ruling party, but at France itself — and the left-liberal establishment is still trying to blame a few bad apples.

That’s true not just of President Emmanuel Macron, but of global media that claim it’s mainly about student grievances over budget cuts — at least one BBC article actually used the phrase “mostly peaceful protests.”

This is nonsense: The street mobs haven’t been just (or even mostly) kids for weeks now, and the vandalism began in the first days; it was last month that “protesters” set a teacher on fire.

Foreign flags (Morocco, Algeria, “Palestine”) came out at the start; the crowds are mostly blacks and Arabs — overwhelmingly from Muslim immigrant communities, in other words.

And the political statements are obvious: Burning down historic town halls; smashing a statue of Marianne, the symbol of the French Republic.

Synagogues ransacked and other targeting of Jews.

Liberty isn’t leading these people, but a hatred for Western civilization itself.

Leaders of that civilization who still insist on denial will either find themselves as former leaders, or “leading” a former civilization.

Government Corruption
Comer: Ilhan Omar ‘Right in the Middle of All of the Somali Fraud with the Earmarks that She Proposed'
[BB] During this week’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Night in America,” House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) said his colleague Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was “right in the middle” of Somali fraud, which he tied to earmarks that she had proposed.

“Reporting indicates this investigation is immigration related,” host Trey Gowdy said. “I’m not a huge fan of law enforcement leaks, but they do happen. So here we are. What do we know about the search warrant and the predicate crime?”

Comer replied, “Well, I can tell you from our initial investigation of Omar and her financial disclosure form that there are multiple fronts where you could get a search warrant issued. First of all, not only was there a huge discrepancy in the financial disclosure form, there was the winery that was the big base of her $25 million listing on her financial disclosure form. That winery has, according to the press, been shut down because of fraud. They were apparently selling investors barrels of wine to be aged, but there was nothing in the barrels. That’s kind of happened in Kentucky with some fly-by-night bourbon distilleries, too. So I’m very familiar with that.”

“But also, she’s right in the middle of all of the Somali fraud with the earmarks that she proposed, they were going to go to groups that were right in the thick of all the Somali fraud, all the Medicaid and welfare fraud in Minneapolis, as well as her sister. Her sister was involved in some of these frauds, reportedly $20 million worth of fraud from her sister. So then you add into the fact that something that I didn’t know till it came out in the press that she may have lied on her age when she came to the United States. We know about her brother in that situation, but if she lied on her age, there are four or five different angles where you could obtain a search warrant.”

“And I want to add, Trey, that search warrant was approved by a judge that was appointed, I believe, by Obama, but was a donor to many Democrat presidential candidates,” Comer added. “So this wasn’t a Republican judge. This was a Democrat judge, and as you said in your monologue, this was given within 60 days of an election, which means it has to be 100% lawful for that to happen.”

Why the F35 Supply Chain Doesn't Work (which leads to the F35 not working either)
[CentristLibertarianPatriot] The Wave Has a Date: F-35 sustainment, a deadline set in law five years ago, and a Pentagon that has decided to stand on the beach

Everyone can see the wave. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has charted it. Congress wrote its arrival date into law. The services have budgeted for the damage. And yet the institution’s chosen course of action is to stay put and hold a planning meeting about the tide. Start with the smallest piece of the problem, because it explains the whole thing. The F-35 pilot’s Helmet Mounted Display System (HMDS) costs roughly $400,000, is built to fit one pilot’s head, and fuses the feeds from six infrared cameras around the aircraft. The Pentagon has spent years trying to stretch its organic light-emitting diode display past a projected four-year life to save sustainment money. A Marine life-support shop can clean the visor and swap a component. Anything beyond that goes back to the original equipment manufacturer, on the manufacturer’s schedule, using the manufacturer’s data.

Scale that up to the airframe, the engine, the support equipment, and the parts pipeline, and you have the F-35 sustainment enterprise. The helmet is not a side story. It is the program in miniature. CLP’s governing thesis holds that things are never as good or as bad as most people think. The jet flies, fights, and wins exercises. The airplane is not the problem. The sustainment architecture wrapped around it is, and the bill for that architecture now has a due date.

THE COUNTDOWN CLOCK
The clock is already running. Fiscal year (FY) 2027 began on 1 October 2026, and with it the first year of a $50.8 billion bill the services owe for F-35 sustainment through FY2031. Day counts below run from 14 October 2026.

Read the bolded line again. The deadline Congress set in December 2021 is less than a year away, and the department’s own maintenance target already sits on the far side of it. That is not a schedule slip. That is a decision.

HOW WE BUILT THE BEACH HOUSE
The F-35 was sold on a bet: let the prime contractor run sustainment, and the government would save money. The government made the bet. The contractor collected the winnings. Today sustainment is principally contractor-led. Lockheed Martin and Pratt & Whitney own most of the core maintenance functions, and Lockheed owns the data rights. When a Marine maintainer hits a question the manual does not answer, he calls a Lockheed field representative. When proprietary support equipment breaks, a contractor comes to fix it, and that can take months. The contractors run the supply chain, so the government has limited control over its own spare parts.
