Nigeria: Troops neutralise ISWAP Shura council member, high-ranking commanders in Kukawa
Text:
[Zagazola Makama] Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have neutralised several Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, including a high-profile member of the group's Shura Council, during an engagement in Kukawa, Borno State.

Security sources said the operation, conducted on October 31, 2026, resulted in the neutralisation of Abu Hajara, a prominent member of ISWAP's Shura Council, alongside Abul Walid, a senior commander and close associate of Ba Shuwa, the group's overall Wali.

The sources also confirmed the neutralisation of two high-ranking Arab fighters during the engagement.

According to the sources, combined troops deployed in Kukawa successfully repelled a massive ISWAP attack on their positions, deploying superior ground firepower and air support from the Air Component.

The engagement reportedly inflicted significant casualties on the terrorists, further disrupting their leadership structure and operational capability in the area.

Following the encounter, troops recovered several arms, ammunition and communication devices from the scene.

Britain
Nearly 1,200 migrants cross English Channel in four days after weeks-long pause
[Rudaw] British government figures have shown that 1,193 migrants colonists crossed the channel to the United Kingdom aboard 16 small boats between Thursday and Saturday, as at least three more dinghies set off towards the UK on Sunday, ending a three-week pause in crossings.

According to figures published by the UK Home Office on Sunday, 263 migrants colonists arrived in three boats on Thursday, followed by 671 in nine boats on Friday and another 259 in four boats on Saturday. The figures are provisional and subject to revision.

The boat arrivals resumed after a 21-day period without recorded arrivals - the longest pause this year - as high winds and rough seas had made the dangerous journey across the English Channel more difficult. The latest arrivals come despite a significant overall decline in crossings compared with previous years.

The resumption coincided with a series of confrontations filmed on beaches in northern La Belle France, where migrants colonists gather to board inflatable dinghies, often in large groups.

"I’ve spent months documenting crossings from La Belle France, but this is the first time I’ve captured a launch from Belgium," a photographer operating under the name The Nowhere Photographer wrote on X on Thursday, sharing footage of a migrant boat departing a Belgian beach near the French border.

On Sunday, he reported that three more dinghies loaded with migrants colonists had set out for Britannia.

On Friday, the photographer posted footage from Hardelot-Plage that appeared to show a man brandishing a knife during a confrontation with another person aboard a dinghy.

"The migrant pulled out a large knife, approximately 6 to 7 inches long, and appeared to prepare to stab the man on the boat," the photographer claimed.

The man appeared to drop the knife into the water before eventually climbing aboard the vessel.

British broadcaster ITV and the Press Association also reported the incident, describing footage in which a man holding a knife approached a dinghy while another person aboard attempted to strike him with a boot. A threat to kill someone could be heard during the confrontation, according to the reports.

The photographer, who regularly documents Channel crossings and openly opposes irregular migration, has also criticized French and Belgian authorities for what he describes as their failure to stop boats departing their shores.

One of the boats filmed leaving Belgium was painted in the red, white, green and yellow colors of the Kurdistan flag on Friday. The vessel, carrying approximately 25 men, drew criticism from British right-wing politicians, including Reform UK leader Nigel Farage. However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
the nationality of those aboard and whether the boat reached Britannia have not been independently established.

The renewed crossings have also increased political criticism of the British government's border policies.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
Home Office figures cited by British media showed that arrivals in 2026 were approximately 43 percent lower than during the corresponding period last year and 29 percent below the comparable figure in 2024.

"We have made progress tackling the small boats. Crossings are down significantly," a Home Office spokesperson said, according to ITV, adding that joint operations with international partners had prevented more than 50,000 crossing attempts since the current government took office.

The government has pledged to strengthen cooperation with French authorities and dismantle the networks facilitating irregular crossings.

Kurds from the Kurdistan Region are among those attempting the dangerous journey. In a report published last month, Rudaw documented the conditions faced by Kurdish migrants colonists living in makeshift camps near Dunkirk, where people often spend weeks or months attempting to reach Britannia.

"Even if it turns into a storm, we will still go [cross the sea]," one Kurdish migrant told Rudaw's Hevidar Ahmed during an attempted crossing in early October.

The journey has repeatedly proved deadly. In November 2021, a dinghy carrying migrants colonists from northern La Belle France sank in the Channel, leaving 27 people dead and four missing, most of them Kurds. A French court convicted several smugglers in September over their involvement in the tragedy.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan responds to unprovoked firing from Afghan posts along border in Lower South Waziristan: DC
[Dawn] Pak security forces have responded to unprovoked firing from the Afghan border posts, the deputy commissioner of Lower South Wazoo district said on Sunday.

In a post on X, the DC’s official account said, "Unprovoked firing from Afghan border posts onto Pak border checkpoints continues."

It added that Pak security forces responded immediately and effectively, targeting "multiple Afghan border posts, mortar positions, and defensive checkpoints".

"The Afghan Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
were forced to abandon their posts and flee in response to the Pak forces’ strong response," the post read.

It further said no reports of any casualties have emerged from the border areas on the Pak side.

"Pak forces remain prepared to deliver a full response to any kind of aggression," the deputy commissioner affirmed.

The military’s media affairs wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), is yet to comment on the development.

The fresh exchange of fire follows Friday’s skirmishes, when Pakistain’s armed forces responded to unprovoked firing from the other side, state media reported, citing security sources. As a result, several Afghan Taliban posts in areas adjacent to South Waziristan and Parachinar were destroyed.

The Afghan forces had also opened fire along the Angoor Adda border area on Tuesday, which claimed the life of one local and injured a family of five.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi had condemned the firing, asserting that Pakistain would "never tolerate" attacks on its people or violations of its illusory sovereignty.

Pakistain had also dismissed a statement by Afghanistan’s defence ministry regarding the incident that claimed that Pakistain was the aggressor, terming it a "fabrication of lies".

The border at Angoor Adda is one of the most important and sensitive crossings along the Pak-Afghan border, serving as a key trade route and one of the main points of public movement between the two countries.

Amid the heightened tensions, United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio
...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration...
on Saturday said that Washington has "heard" Pakistain’s concerns about terrorism emanating from Afghanistan and if "there’s a productive role for us to play, we would play it".

Asked about the conflict between the neighbouring countries, Rubio said, "We’ve heard the concerns that Pakistain has raised and we’ve seen some of those attacks that they point to. We’re against terrorism no matter where it emanates from and who it targets."

PAK-AFGHAN TENSIONS
Ties between Pakistain and Afghanistan have been strained in the past few years as Islamabad continues to voice its concern over cross-border terrorism.

Islamabad has repeatedly urged the Taliban administration in Kabul to dismantle terrorist sanctuaries on Afghan soil, particularly those linked to the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP), that are used for attacks in Pakistain. Officials say those appeals have gone unheeded.

For their part, the Afghan Taliban have avoided taking a categorical position on the TTP and other groups, while dismissing Islamabad’s stance that Afghanistan is being used as a base for attacks against Pakistain.

A day earlier, the information ministry stressed that the "Taliban regime’s persistent refusal to address terrorism remains the principal obstacle to normal relations", objecting to Kabul’s portrayal of the issue.

The recent wave of military conflict began in September, when Pakistain carried out calibrated Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s in the border region in response to terrorist attacks in KP. This was followed by drone incursions from across the Afghan border, which Islamabad said were shot down.

In retaliation to the drone incursion, Pakistain conducted "precision aerial and dronezaps" in 10 locations across Afghanistan, followed by another round of "calibrated" air strikes against terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan on Oct 1.

On Oct 17, state media reported that Pak security forces responded to unprovoked fire from the Afghan side along the border in Kurram.

Iraq
IRGC shells Kurdish mountain in Iran with ‘heavy artillery,’ sparking fires: Watchdog
[Rudaw] Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has resumed shelling Mount Shaho in western regions of Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
(Rojhelat) for the second consecutive day, a human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
monitor said Sunday, highlighting damage to the mountain’s wildlife and forests.

"IRGC forces equipped with heavy military hardware, including artillery, were deployed around the village of Maysurab in Kamyaran County and targeted parts of the mount with "heavy artillery bombardment," the Gay Paree-based Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported, citing local sources.

The shelling comes as festivities between the IRGC and the Kurdistan Free Life Party’s armed wing, Eastern Kurdistan Units (YRK), have intensified in the past few weeks. In late October, Iranian armed forces claimed an attack on the dissident group’s guerrilla fighters.

Earlier to the claim, the YRK announced that they had targeted the IRGC in a retaliatory strike against their bases in Mount Shaho.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, another bullet hole appeared in Butch's hat......
the YRK warned in mid-October that they will exercise the "legitimate right to self-defense and deliver the necessary response" if attacks continue.

Mount Shaho is a prominent mountain range in the Central Zagros Mountains, stretching across the borderlands of Kurdistan and Kermanshah provinces in Rojhelat. It provides habitat for Persian leopards, brown bears, wild goats, wolves, and rare bird species.

Iranian authorities designated Mount Shaho a protected area in 2009, meaning it is legally supposed to be protected from industrial degradation, unchecked development, and military disruption.

However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
according to the KHRN, the IRGC has "repeatedly launched artillery and dronezaps" across parts of the area.

On Sunday, "portions" of the mount’s oak trees caught fire following the shellings.

Furthermore, the watchdog said Iranian armed forces have destroyed "parts of local pastures and forests" during the construction of military bases and roads, doing so both "intentionally" and during the buildout process.

The latest escalation in the Kurdish region follows months of insecurity since the US-Israeli war against Iran began in late February.

During the conflict between Washington and Tehran, Iranian missile and dronezaps have killed Kurdish opposition fighters and Kurdistan Region Peshmerga, while a series of killings and armed attacks have heightened tensions across western Iran.

Syrian Intelligence foils plot to target Homs oil refinery
[North Press] Syria’s General Intelligence Directorate foiled a “terrorist” plot targeting the Homs oil refinery in central Syria, the state-run SANA news agency reported on Sunday, citing a source within the intelligence service.

The source did not provide further details about the alleged plot or the circumstances surrounding its foiling.

The Homs refinery processes crude oil and is currently affiliated with the Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC). It plays a key role in supplying the domestic market with essential petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, fuel oil and kerosene.

As of Sunday, security forces and the Ministry of Energy had not issued a detailed statement explaining how the plot was thwarted or identifying those allegedly involved.

Lebanon charges 13 over explosives shipment

Text:

🚨 LEBANON CHARGES 13 OVER HEZBOLLAH EXPLOSIVES SHIPMENT

A Lebanese military court has charged 13 people linked to Hezbollah over a truck carrying 780 kg of explosives seized en route toward Beirut.

The shipment reportedly included 250 kg of TNT and 250 kg of C-4.

Two suspects are in custody, while 11 were charged in absentia.

Hezbollah has acknowledged the explosives belonged to the group, claiming they were intended for use against Israel.

Hezbollah 'won't escalate' after 13 charged in explosives case

[AnNahar] Hezbollah will not escalate over the charges filed by Judge Claude Ghanem against 13 suspects in the Dahr al-Baidar explosives case and "a decision has been made to give political contacts a chance," political sources told the pro-Hezbollah daily al-Akhbar.

Hezbollah has not issued an official statement, but its MP Hussein al-Hajj Hassan said that "the indictment issued by the Government Commissioner to the Military Court against a number of Lebanese citizens lacks the most basic rules of the National Pact, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
Charter, and numerous Lebanese laws, all of which guarantee the legitimate rights of any resistance against the occupation."

He pointed out that "the detainees and the rest of the accused citizens were performing a national duty in defense of their country, state illusory sovereignty, and to protect the Lebanese people, for which they deserve honor rather than trial."

"They have no connection to all the false accusations issued by parties inside and outside the rulimh authority," Hajj Hassan added, referring to the accusations that the explosives were meant to be used in liquidations.

"Regardless of the local and foreign political targeting that accompanied this case, the reliance of this decision on certain articles of the Penal Code is completely incompatible with the mission the defendants were performing. This accusation is unfair and unjust, and its merits are subject to well-known political dictates," the politician stated.

"These resistance fighters were not in a position to undermine state security and safety, but were rather confronting the Israeli enemy, which threatens Leb
...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade....
's existence through its continuous occupation and the daily crimes of liquidation, bombing, and destruction it commits against our country and people," the MP argued.

The charges marked the latest sign of a dramatic shift in relations between Hezbollah and Lebanon after two wars between the Iran-backed group and Israel in the past three years.

For decades, Hezbollah moved weapons freely in parts of Lebanon. That changed in March, when the government declared the group's military activities illegal following the outbreak of the latest war.

Two defendants were arrested when authorities seized the shipment earlier this month and remain in jug. The other 11 remain on the lam and were charged in absentia. Five were identified only by nicknames because their real names remain unknown.

The charges include crimes against internal state security, possession of weapons and explosives, and forming illegal associations aimed at undermining state authority, the state-run National News Agency said.

The truck was stopped at a checkpoint on the main highway linking Beirut to the eastern Bekaa Valley earlier this month. It carried 780 kilograms of explosives, including 250 kilograms of TNT and 250 kilograms of C-4 plastic explosives, according to judicial officials.

The seizure sparked heated public debate, with many accusing Hezbollah of planning to assassinate domestic opponents as it faces mounting pressure to disarm.

The government outlawed Hezbollah's military activities hours after the group fired rockets into northern Israel, triggering a war that has killed nearly 4,000 people in Lebanon and left Israeli forces occupying a large swath of the country's south.

Hezbollah fired the rockets two days after Israel and the United States launched a war on Iran, its main backer.

Hezbollah has refused to recognize the government's decision.

Reported US strikes inside Iran

🚨 REPORTED U.S. STRIKES INSIDE IRAN

According to Axios, U.S. has reportedly been carrying out strikes against Iranian missile launch sites in southern Iran, aimed at stopping attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian media also reported a drone strike near Qeshm Island that hit two fishing boats. Iranian officials blamed the U.S., but Washington has not publicly confirmed responsibility for that incident.
