A New England city was transformed by refugees; now, it faces a youth gun violence crisis: 'Fear for my life'
[FOX] Lewiston, Maine — A New England city transformed by an influx of refugees and immigrants is now grappling with a youth gun violence crisis after police reported 35 gun-related incidents this year, 22 involving juveniles.

"I don’t feel safe. I fear for my life," Mohamed Muhumed,
…an old and respected Maine family name…
a Lewiston teenager, told Fox News Digital. "I saw someone get punched in the middle of the sidewalk over there. It’s crazy."

The city, Maine's second most populous and home to a large population of refugees from Somali and other African nations,
... Moslem colonists…
is experiencing a serious youth gun violence problem.

Lewiston Police Chief Carly Conley called gun violence "one of the most serious public safety challenges" facing the city.

Jon Fetherston, a reporter for the conservative-leaning The Maine Wire who has reported extensively on the issue, told Fox News Digital that "the gun violence in Lewiston is very concerning. The majority ... has been committed by teenagers. ... Multiple times teenagers have been arrested and immediately released by the courts back out on the streets.

"The court systems are being tapped. The DA is frustrated that the courts aren't putting these kids away in jail. ... Residents are scared. Residents are very, very frustrated, and you've got kids shooting kids, and it's almost become commonplace here in Lewiston."

City officials have responded by approving $200,000 in additional police overtime funding to expand patrols and enforcement. They have also urged changes to Maine’s juvenile justice system, including more options for handling repeat violent offenders and greater scrutiny before high-risk juveniles are released.

Mayor Carl Sheline said in a statement last month that the increased resources are "sending a strong message to those perpetrating gun violence: We will find you."

But he added, "Parental involvement and accountability are key to reducing youth gun violence in our city."

Republican Rick LaChapelle, a former city council president who is now running for mayor, told Fox News Digital, "Our biggest problem is the system itself. The police department is doing an excellent job catching these people. We have one young man that's been arrested five times, I believe, for the same thing. He gets arrested, gets brought down to the youth center … gets released.

"It's been a one-party rule forever that has instilled the rules that there's no accountability," LaChapelle argued. "We need to change the rules of the system."

Fox News Digital reached out to Sheline to discuss his efforts to combat the gun violence, but the mayor didn't respond by the time this story was published.

No official city or police data indicates that Somali residents as a group are behind the violence nor establishes a connection to the increase.

But, LaChapelle said, "That seems to be who's being arrested right now."

Mohamed Adbei, a teenager who spoke with Fox News Digital on the streets of Lewiston, pushed back on any ethnic connection.

"I wouldn't just say it's the Somali kids. It's youth in general," Adbei said.
So definitely Somali yoots, with some small admixture those hanging out with them. Thank you for clarifying, gentlement.
Ifraax Saciid, a Somali native who lived in Atlanta before moving to Lewiston, agreed.

Full assimilation takes time. We'll check back with Lewiston in 500-750 years or so.

Alarming fraud trend puts small-town mosque with industry and foreign govt ties in focus: ‘Our motherland now'
[FOX] Uzbek trucking companies repeatedly cited for unsafe driving and invalid CDLs gave hundreds of thousands in gifts

A mosque rising amid rural homes and farmland in southwest Ohio has become a focal point in the community’s growing concerns over an influx of foreign-owned trucking companies and trucking fraud, with a Fox News Digital review revealing significant financial ties between the mosque, trucking companies and the government of Uzbekistan.

Roughly one mile north of the main intersection in Maineville, a small Warren County village with about 1,400 residents, sits the Islamic Center of Maineville, which has been under construction for the past four years following its approval by Hamilton Township in April 2022.

Fox News Digital found that the mosque received substantial donations from trucking companies that government records show were cited for serious safety and compliance violations, while the mosque’s own Telegram channel displayed associations with people identified as current or former Uzbek officials.

For years, the Islamic Center of Maineville has posted on Telegram to its 3,600 members, courting donations, acknowledging partnerships with trucking companies, and even sharing screenshots of donations from local trucking companies, owned by Uzbeks, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Europe
Germany reviews asylum rights of thousands of Syrian refugees
[Rudaw] Germany’s Federal Office for Migration and Refugees reviewed 8,981 Syrian refugee cases in the first nine months of 2026, revoking asylum protection in most cases on the grounds that the individuals no longer face danger in their home country, the agency told Rudaw.

According to the agency, another 17,440 cases were awaiting decisions over the same period, as Germany moves to reassess the protection status of Syrian refugees, including Kurds from northeast Syria (Rojava).

Birgit Naujoks, head of the Refugee Council - an independent organization advocating for refugee rights - in North Rhine-Westphalia, expressed concern over the scale of the proceedings, linking them to the German government’s increasingly restrictive migration policy.

"We are very concerned that revocation proceedings are now to be initiated on a large scale for Syrian nationals," Naujoks told Rudaw's Zinar Shino on Friday. "Of course, that does not automatically mean that every Syrian refugee will lose their protection status, as each case is reviewed individually, but the political will is very clear that many revocations should take place."

Losing asylum protection generally jeopardizes refugees’ residence permits, although alternative legal grounds may allow some to remain in Germany.

"In principle, a revocation leads to the withdrawal of the residence permit based on protection grounds, but you always have to check: are other residence permits possibly an option?" Naujoks said, citing employment, education and family ties as possible grounds for alternative residency.

German authorities classify nearly 415,000 Syrians as recipients of state welfare, adding to political pressure to reduce public expenditure associated with migration.

The reviews come amid a broader crackdown on immigration under Chancellor Friedrich Merz, whose conservative government has pledged to accelerate deportations and tighten migration controls.

Last year, Merz declared that Syria’s civil war was over and argued that asylum grounds for Syrians no longer existed. He also pledged to deport Syrians convicted of crimes and invited Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa to Berlin to discuss the issue.

Germany’s tougher stance has gained momentum amid electoral advances by the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), which advocates stricter immigration rules and large-scale deportations.

Macron Forced to Walk Back Claim Trappes Shooting Was First Religious Motivated Terror Attack in France
[Breitbart] Per our history lessons the other day
French President Emmanuel Macron has been forced to an embarrassing backtrack after falsely claiming that the shootings in Trappes were the first time that the country had experienced a terror attack over race or religion.

On Friday, six people were shot, leading to the death of one man and leaving a 12-year-old girl injured, in the multicultural Paris suburb of Trappes. The suspected attacker, only identified publicly as "Kevin T.", was arrested shortly after the shootings while possessing an antique Sten MK II automatic gun, tear gas canisters, and cocaine.

The attack was immediately characterised by some as being motivated by race and religion, with Trappes Mayor Ali Rabeh claiming Friday afternoon that his city had "witnessed a racist attack, probably Islamophobic".

Speaking to the press from Trappes, President Emmanuel Macron asserted that the attack was a "turning point" for France, claiming that "this is the first time there has been a planned terrorist act to kill our fellow citizens, our children, because of their skin colour or the religion they are given".

This claim faced immediate and swift pushback on social media, with users and politicians citing numerous instances of Islamic terrorists killing people because of their religion, particularly those of Jewish and Christian faith.

Examples of this included the 2012 antisemitic attack against the Ozar Hatorah Jewish school in Toulouse by Mohamed Merah, who brutally murdered three children and a father, Jonathan Sandler, his sons Arié and Gabriel, and young girl Myriam Monsonego, Le Figaro reported. The French paper of record also pointed to the 2015 hostage situation at the Hyper Cacher kosher supermarket in Paris during which Malian-heritage Muslim Amedy Coulibaly killed five people and injured 11 more.

The Catholic community in France has also come under frequent attack, including the 2016 jihadi killing of Father Jacques Hamel at the church of Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray in Normandy by two ISIS supporters, Adel Kermiche and Abdel Malik Petitjean. In 2020, a Tunisian Muslim, Brahim Aouissaoui, stabbed three people to death at the Catholic basilica of Notre-Dame de Nice.

In response to President Macron’s false claim, National Rally leader Jordan Bardella said: "This ignoble attack, of exceptional gravity, shocks the entire country and calls for an implacable judicial response.

"But alas, contrary to what you declare, this is not ’the first time’ that French people have been targeted and killed, in the context of a planned terrorist operation, ’on account of their skin colour or their religion": your eminent position requires you not to forget the Jewish victims of the Ozar Hatorah school in Toulouse or of the Hyper Cacher, Father Hamel murdered in his church, the Catholic faithful of the Notre-Dame Basilica in Nice, and all the other innocent victims."

French MEP and leader of the Identity—Liberties party Marion Maréchal added: "Don’t the little Jewish children of the Ozar Hatorah school, shot at close range by Mohammed Merah, matter to you, Mr. President? And Father Hamel? And the Nice basilica?

"Today’s horror must not overshadow that of yesterday."

Mayor of Nice, Éric Ciotti, said that the attack in Trappes was "abhorrent and must be denounced by all with force" but said that President Macron’s comments represented a "historic and grave mistake."

Such statements are unworthy and abhorrent... This mediocre attempt at political recovery of a racist attack definitively discredits a President who will have damaged and divided France. Let him finally go!"

Following the steep backlash, Macron was forced to walk back his assertion, albeit without acknowledging his initial mistake, admitting that there have been "attacks that have struck Christians because they were Christians and Jews because they were Jews... None of these victims should be forgotten. No pain should be ranked."

Iraq
Iraq believes Israel may have struck militia weapons supplied by Iran
[Jpost] The report concluded that the strikes suggest the start of a new round of conflict. This seems sensational because the alleged incident took place in mid-to-early October.

Iraq believes that Israel was behind recent strikes on two sites where Iran-backed militias had stockpiled "Chinese-made shoulder-fired air defense systems" sourced from Tehran, sources told London-based Arabic international newspaper Asharq al-Awsat on Saturday.

It was unclear which specific type of system the report referred to. One source told the newspaper that "the gang that identified this location for storing air defense systems believed it was extremely difficult to access or detect...the suspected attack occurred shortly after the shipments arrived at the two storage sites."

The report, which said the strikes occurred last week, did not provide evidence for the claims and noted that parts of the claims could not be confirmed.

Asharq al-Awsat added that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), an umbrella group that contains numerous Iranian-backed militias and is also an Iraqi government paramilitary force, had said one of their bases suffered a kaboom on October 17.

However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone...
the PMF claimed at the time that this was an accident, and Iraq’s government vowed to investigate. The explosion had affected a stockpile of obsolete ammunition inside one of their headquarters in Baghdad's East Canal, injuring five people, according to Asharq al-Awsat.

NOT FIRST TIME IRAQ HAS BLAMED ISRAEL FOR STRIKES
This is not the first time that Iraqis have sought to blame Israel for strikes in the country. Iranian-backed militias also blamed Israel for strikes in 2019 and a strike in Albukamal in Syria on the Iraqi border. In May, The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel set up a secret airstrip in Iraq in the midst of the Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
campaign.

Iran has been supplying Iraqi militias with weapons for many years. This has included missiles and drones capable of threatening Israel. The militias also carried out numerous attacks on Israel, especially after Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
began its war on Israel on October 7, 2023.

The Asharq al-Awsat report further cited an anonymous Iraqi government official who said that relevant authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, with the report noting that over a week had passed since the incident without any update.

Other sources said that the earth-shattering kaboom in mid-October followed another incident on October 1. In that incident, warehouses belonging to Iran-backed groups in and around Baghdad had apparently been affected, "including warehouses containing drones intended for suicide kabooms and reconnaissance."

The report also reveals that the Iran-backed militias appear to be preparing for escalation. Iran has sought to make Iraq a frontline of the war since the US and Israel began Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s in February. For instance, Iran has carried out more than 1,000 strikes on the Kurdistan Region of northern Iraq since February. It has used drones and missiles.

In addition, Iran and the Iranian-backed militias carried out 600 attacks throughout Iraq, some targeting US diplomatic sites. The US withdrew forces from Iraq on September 30, a deadline that had been agreed to with Baghdad over the last years. Also, the US has warned Americans not to travel to Baghdad and noted the terror threats from the militias.

Asharq al-Awsat appears to try to connect earlier reports about China supplying Iran with weapons to the movement of the same systems to Iraq. However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone...
the report admits that this is "unconfirmed." It further notes that on July 28, the Chinese Foreign Ministry denied these reports.

At the time, Iran was expected to receive, within weeks, its first shipment of up to 400 Chinese-made shoulder-fired air-defense missile launchers as it rebuilt its defenses after its war with the United States, three sources familiar with the deal told Rooters.

The militias may be preparing for what comes next. It should be noted that an Iran-backed militia targeted Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
’s East-West Pipeline in a drone attack. It is believed, according to a report at al-Hurra and other reports, that the attack was carried out from Iraq’s Maysan province near the Iranian border. That border crossing has now been closed amid US pressure and Iraq’s concerns apparently over trafficking.

Asharq al-Awsat further noted conflicting reports describing sorties by Israeli fighter jets through Iraqi airspace near the Iranian border, supported by midair refuelers, an operation it said had not been independently confirmed.

A security official told Asharq al-Awsat that Iraqi authorities have not yet determined the nature of the strikes, but have seen sufficient evidence to believe Israel was behind them.

STRIKES SUGGEST THE START OF A NEW ROUND OF CONFLICT, ASHARQ AL-AWSAT REPORTS
The report concluded that the strikes suggest the start of a new round of conflict. This seems sensational because the alleged incident took place in mid-to-early October. On the other hand, a source within the Shi’ite Coordination Framework told Asharq al-Awsat that "leaders of ruling parties had been predicting for weeks that the resumption of war between Washington and Tehran would begin with the complete destruction of the capabilities of the Iraqi factions."

The Shi’ite Coordination Framework includes the Shi’ite parties in Iraq. Many of the parties have armed wings that are part of the PMF. For instance, the Badr Organization has numerous brigades within the PMF. Other groups include Kataib Hezbollah, Asaib Ahl al Haq and Harakat Hezbollah al Nujaba. Most of these groups, except Badr, have been sanctioned by the US as terrorist groups.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Senate, Tremulus continued with his speech against Varius and his cohorts, watching as his colleagues dropped off to sleep one by one...
the Islamic Resistance® in Iraq, which includes many of the militias and has been responsible for attacks on Israel and the US in the past, published a report claiming Iraq’s airspace was being violated.

Pro-Iran factions back Tehran, allege US airspace violations amid disarmament dispute
[Rudaw] The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI), an umbrella group of pro-Iran armed factions, reiterated its support for Tehran on Saturday, accusing the United States of repeatedly violating Iraqi airspace and breaching agreements with Baghdad, raising further questions over efforts to bring the factions' weapons under state control.

The group expressed support for Iran against US-Israeli attacks, describing the strikes as aggression and portraying its backing for Tehran as a moral obligation.

The IRI also accused the Iraqi government of yielding to US “dictates and pressure” in closing airports and border crossings with Iran, arguing that such decisions undermined Iraqi sovereignty and independent decision-making.

“Talk of achieving full ‘national sovereignty,’ while violations persist and independent national decision-making continues to be undermined, has become an affront to the dignity and free will of our people,” the group said.

The statement comes amid disagreements between Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi's government and powerful Iran-backed factions over disarmament initially scheduled to coincide with the withdrawal of the US-led coalition at the end of September. Several factions have refused to commit to the government's timetable, arguing that Iraqi sovereignty must first be fully secured.

The IRI claimed it had documented 171 violations of Iraqi airspace by American fighter and reconnaissance aircraft between September 30 and October 23.

“This constitutes a blatant violation of the agreements reached and the obligations arising from them, as well as a clear breach of the duties imposed on all parties,” the group said, urging the Iraqi government to inform the public about the alleged violations.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran has 'substantially increased' efforts to target Americans abroad, US intelligence memo warns
[FOX] Iran has "substantially increased" efforts to target U.S. personnel abroad, with plots to kill Americans reaching "advanced stages" in the Middle East and other countries, according to an intelligence memo obtained by Fox News.

The memo, sent Friday to Secretary of State Marco Rubio by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, comes just days after the State Department ordered non-emergency U.S. government employees and their family members to leave Saudi Arabia due to escalating attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

U.S. officials confirmed the authenticity of the unclassified intelligence memo, which was first reported by Axios.

"Specifically, through various channels, we have received intelligence that Iran has substantially increased efforts to target U.S. personnel," the memo states.

"The lethal plotting efforts by the Iranians against U.S. citizens have reached advanced stages in both the Middle East and certain other countries."

The memo also states that intelligence officials will work to downgrade the classification of certain intelligence so it can be disseminated and shared with State Department personnel.

A U.S. official told Fox News Digital that the government continually monitors and evaluates evolving security threats.

"When it comes to our staffing at embassies, we constantly evaluate new information about the security environment," the official said. "The threat of Houthi attacks and of Iranian terror plots targeting U.S. officials are informing our decisions on staffing adjustments for embassies on RO Status in the region."

The intelligence report on Iranian efforts to target U.S. diplomats and officials in the Middle East also comes as President Donald Trump continues to weigh another round of military strikes against Iran if Tehran does not reach an agreement with Washington.

Earlier this week, the State Department addressed reports that it directed nonessential government personnel and their dependents to leave the entire Gulf region, clarifying that the departure order applies only to Saudi Arabia.

State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said that any claims of a potential broader regional shutdown were "inaccurate."

Iran also expanded its underground Eagle-44 Airbase

Text:

🇮🇷🏗️🇺🇸🇮🇱Iran did not only rebuild its underground Eagle-44 Airbase, in Hormozgan, despite at least 3 US and Israeli strikes, Iran also expanded the base

Satellite imagery shows repaired taxiways, new construction, and largely intact tunnel entrances.

Eagle-44 is located approximately 160 kilometers northwest of the Strait of Hormoz, deep within the Zagros Mountains.

American War Zone military outlet reported the complex will probably also store cruise & ballistic missiles.

Israeli Channel 12 says a US official acknowledged that Iran’s military recovery is progressing faster than anticipated.

Iran has a division and three mobile brigades on its Kurdish border

Text:

🇮🇷 Iran has a division and three mobile brigades on its Kurdish border, and the Guards are reportedly adding thousands more.

The Artesh's 28th Division sits in Sanandaj, with brigades at Sanandaj, Saghez and Marivan. Kurdish rights groups say about 3,000 Guards troops arrived in recent weeks.

So is Iran bracing for a Kurdish front?

What is in place
→ The army's 28th Division and three mobile assault brigades

→ The brigades are built to answer revolts or invasions fast

What is new
→ Opposition sources report Guards and heavy weapons in Sanandaj and Baneh (unverified)

→ In August an army adviser said special forces ran 14 raids into Iraqi Kurdistan in two months

Mountains make a big invasion slow and small raids easy, and Tehran is preparing for the second.
