Tanker struck by RPG off Saudi coast: Maritime watchdog
[Rudaw] A tanker was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) fired from a small boat off Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
's eastern coast, damaging the vessel but causing no casualties, a British maritime security agency said on Saturday, amid heightened threats to commercial shipping in the Gulf.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said the attack occurred on Friday, approximately 78 nautical miles northeast of the Saudi port city of Al Jubayl.

The vessel's captain reported that the tanker was struck on its aft port quarter, the rear-left section of the ship.

"Crew are accounted for and reported safe. A complete damage assessment and environmental impact are unknown at time of report," UKMTO said in its warning issued on Saturday.

The agency advised vessels operating in the area to exercise caution as authorities investigate the incident.

The attack comes amid heightened maritime tensions in the Gulf, where commercial vessels have faced growing security threats as the regional conflict involving Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and the United States disrupts shipping routes.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important oil transit routes, normally carrying around a fifth of global petroleum consumption.

In a separate incident on Friday, another tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile about 68 nautical miles northeast of Al Jubayl, UKMTO said on Saturday. All crew members were safely evacuated, and no environmental damage was reported.

The incidents follow a surge in attacks on commercial vessels in and around the Strait of Hormuz.

The Houthis have surrounded Yemen's third-largest city, Taiz
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Forces of the Shiite military-political movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) have surrounded Yemen's third-largest city, Taiz. This was reported by the Financial Times.

Taiz, in the southwest of the country, links the Red Sea coast with the rest of southern Yemen, and its capture would pave the way for the Houthis to advance on Aden, the seat of the internationally recognized government.

Since the Houthis have encircled the city, all major entrances have become front lines. Getting into Taiz requires crossing the war zone. Many residents would like to leave the city, but haven't had the time.

"Running now is risky because we'd have to cross active front lines. But if it were safe, I'd rather leave than stay here in these terrible conditions, expecting fighting to break out in the city at any moment," the publication quotes a driver named Shehab as saying.

The man also said that he was left without work because fuel prices had jumped and passengers could no longer afford the fare.

"Fuel trucks cannot reach the city due to fighting on the main access roads, so black market fuel prices have tripled," he added.

The armed conflict in Yemen resumed in July after the ceasefire collapsed. On July 3, the Houthis claimed that a Saudi warplane had prevented an Iranian airliner from landing in Sana'a. In response, the Saudi-backed Yemeni government leveled its own accusations, claiming that Houthi snipers had attacked their positions near the Yemeni town of Hays.

Ten days later, the Yemeni army attacked the runway of Sana'a International Airport, where the Houthis are based, to prevent another Iranian plane from landing. On July 20, the Houthis declared a naval blockade, preventing ships from passing through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and blocking Saudi ports. Clashes broke out between the Houthis and government forces in the Yemeni city of Hodeida.

Yemeni village suffers raids and interrogations targeting every son of the village

two weeks ago, and when they arrived, they reassured the people and calmed them by saying nothing would happen. They sent people to the resistance elements who had fled to the mountain, and asked them to surrender their weapons, promising they would be safe and granted amnesty by a decision from their leader Al-Mashat.

The fighters came down, handed over their weapons, and went back to their homes. But on the third day, they summoned them and gathered about 75 people, then took them to As-Salih under the pretext of granting them general amnesty. However, they’ve now reneged and said these are prisoners of war who will be treated as captives and detainees.
A regular tale in that part of the world, going back millennia.
Yesterday, three vehicles full of armed men entered the village on the charge that it was a den of Daesh—because of the large number of villagers who had been with the resistance.

And today, there are raids and interrogations targeting every son of the village, pressuring them to give up the names of the fugitive Daesh members and those who had previously joined the resistance, even if just for one week.
Did they really find ISIS or is it just an excuse?

Cartel hitman earning $220 weekly claims he incinerated 250 people at Mexican ranch
[NY Post] A hired hitman for a powerful Mexican cartel is claiming he helped carry out the executions of more than 500 people at a remote ranch — including 250 bodies he says he personally incinerated.
A man devoted to excelling in his chosen profession.
He has now spent the last 18 months providing tips to a group of volunteers searching for their loved ones.
That’s an unexpected kindness.
The masked assassin said that the Jalisco New Generation Cartel made hundreds of victims disappear at and around Rancho Izaguirre, a remote property located in Teuchitlán, a municipality in the western state of Jalisco.

"More than 500 people were executed there," the cartel’s executioner said in an interview aired by Italian public television broadcaster RAI on Oct. 10.

"I personally incinerated 250 people," he confessed.

The killer, whose identity was concealed, said he earns about $220 a week to carry out executions for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

"In the cartel, a hitman always earns the same wage," he said, "I might kill five people in a single day, but my pay remains the same. A life doesn’t cost much."

Europe
Not Judenfrei: Outside pro-Palestinian protesters demand cancellation of Israeli dance performance at Madrid theater, inside audience standing ovation
[Jpost] The theater's director, Ruperto Merino, rejected demands to cancel the performances, saying decisions about the artistic program were based on professional, not political, considerations.

Approximately 200 pro-Paleostinian protesters gathered outside the Teatros del Canal theater in Madrid on Thursday night to protest a performance by Israel's Batsheva Dance Company.

The demonstrators waved Paleostinian flags and displayed a large banner reading in Spanish, "Israel dances while it kills in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
." They called for a boycott of the company and demanded that its performances be canceled. Some shouted "Murderers" and "Shame on you" at audience members arriving at the theater.

Despite the demonstration, the performance went ahead as planned and, according to the Israeli Embassy in Spain, ended with a standing ovation.

Batsheva is performing Sadeh21, a work by Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin, as part of a three-show engagement in Madrid scheduled for October 15, 16, and 17 at the theater's Concha Velasco auditorium.

The opening performance took place Thursday night, with two additional shows scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Spanish media reports say all three performances sold out.

Meloni decries violent demonstrations as Italian police clash with protesters in Milan, Bologna
[Jpost] The clashes echoed the violence in neighboring France, where tens of thousands of people took to the streets on Saturday in some of the country's most violent protests in years.

Italian Police fired tear gas on Saturday after coming under attack from protesters throwing stones in the square in front of Milan's Gothic cathedral, Italian media reported, while there were also festivities in the city of Bologna following protests over the cost of living.

Police in Bologna used a water cannon to try to disperse crowds and made seven arrests after the protest became violent mostly peaceful, the ANSA news agency reported.

'DEMONSTRATING IS A RIGHT, TURNING CITIES INTO BATTLEGROUNDS IS NOT'
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, facing an election next year, condemned the violence.

"Demonstrating is a right. Turning our cities into battlegrounds is not," she said on X/Twitter.

In Milan, police in riot gear also tried to clear hooded protesters from the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the luxury shopping arcade on one side of the cathedral square, as groups broke away from the cost-of-living protest.

Shops pulled down their shutters and tourists fled the central area. The central Duomo (Cathedral) metro station was closed during the festivities in which several people were reported injured, and arrests were made, according to Italian media reports.
About the protest in Milan, the Times of Israel reports:
The march against wars — including Palestinian flags and keffiyeh headscarves — and against rising living costs began peacefully.

Limoges Town Hall 'largely lost' after far-left rioters set historic building on fire amid French unrest
[FoxNews] The roof collapsed onto lower floors as anti-government protests over cost of living entered their fourth week across France

A historic building in the French town of Limoges, about three hours south of Paris, has been "largely lost" after it was set on fire by rioters as demonstrations continue across France.

The Limoges Town Hall was built in 1883, and was made a historic landmark in 1975.

"The roof has collapsed onto lower floors, except the west wing, and two-thirds of the exterior has already disappeared," the local prefect, Maurice Barate, told the AFP news agency.

Barate called it "a deliberate act by hooligans," adding that it was a "catastrophe for heritage."

The destruction came as far-left anti-government protests and violent clashes entered their fourth week in the European country over the cost of living.

On Saturday, outgoing President Emmanuel Macron wrote on social media: "There is no place for violence in our republic."
Unfortunately untrue. But hopefully this will change if the current LePen is elected president.
"Those who have broken, attacked the prefectures as well as businesses, looted even our town halls, will be prosecuted and punished," he added translated from French. "To the law enforcement forces, guarantors of the right to demonstrate, I express the support of the Nation. We will all stand united against the sowers of chaos, who seek only to bring down our institutions and prevent those who peacefully express their demands from doing so."

Macron leaves office in six months.
Good. He’s a perfect example of the Peter Principle, poor man.
Around 400 people were arrested on Saturday, according to Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, as more than a half million people took part in more than 100 marches across the country.

Masked groups also attempted to break into city halls in Lille and Calais and a police station in Brest, the interior minister reported, along with violence in Rennes, Toulouse, Montpellier and Grenoble, among other cities.

Nuñez blamed the unrest on "extremely violent, radical far-left groups."
That’s because blaming it on the Moslem colonists gleefully shouting “Allahu akhbar!” is just not done, however true the red-green alliance might be.
While many some of the protests were without violence, many have descended into riots. Police used tear gas and water cannons on Saturday to disperse violent groups in Paris, where people wearing hoods and masks threw fireworks and other objects at officers in the Place de la République.

Around 400 people were detained at protests in France
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Law enforcement officers detained approximately 400 people during the suppression of unrest during protests in France. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced this on October 17 during a press conference broadcast by BFMTV.

"At present, we're talking about 400 detainees. But this is only preliminary data," the minister clarified.

He noted that most of those detained were adults. According to Núñez, the state will suffer significant material damage as a result of the pogroms, and the authorities intend to track down and prosecute anyone not apprehended at the scene of the crime.

Large-scale protests spread across various cities in France, drawing a total of up to 500,000 participants. In several regions, rallies escalated into clashes and riots. Protesters broke into the Marseille city hall, breaking down the door. They also entered the Lille administration building. In Paris, clashes resulted in the fires of a restaurant and several cars, along with damage to infrastructure and several educational institutions.

Since September, mass school protests have been taking place in France, fueled by student dissatisfaction with teacher shortages, overcrowded schedules, and the poor condition of educational institutions. Some of the protests have been accompanied by riots. By October 4, protesters had vandalized or set fire to 24 educational institutions, and another 400 to 500 had temporarily closed due to security threats.

Lord Garth’s headline when he submitted this tweet this morning: French AWFL tries to say 'I'm on your side' to rioters. They rob her anyway

A nice collection of tweets can be seen here:
Riots in France - a Warning for America
[Sasha Stone] The riots in France look like the Summer of 2020. The Yellow Vests have now joined the student protests and have created what appears to be an outright revolution.
Courtesy of Skidmark, the Daily Mail has the usual photos and videos, adding:
Meanwhile, in Brussels, demonstrators were seen standing on an overturned car during a students' protest in Belgium, inspired by the protests in France. Several hundred people, mostly of a younger demographic, took to the streets of the capital on Saturday. They also clashed with police as they protested against rising education costs and reforms which many believe could make higher education less accessible.

In Paris, protesters were seen lobbing baguettes at riot police, as the protests quickly descended into violence. A tourist office and cars were set on fire by rioters in France, who took to the streets to protest in their hundreds of thousands, including 110,000 in Paris alone.

France's Yellow Vest activists joined student protesters, with some of the worst violence was in the eastern city of Lyon, where a tourist office was set on fire by a violent gang.

In Bordeaux, a video circulated on social media showing the upmarket Galeries Lafayette, which had been recently renovated, being stormed by hundreds of protesters. In other videos, shopworkers were seen watching on helplessly as looters destroyed the aisles and appeared to fill bags with stolen goods.

Sixty law enforcement officers were injured during the clashes in France on Saturday - two of whom were taken to hospital unconscious - France's interior minister Laurent Nuñez said in an update on Saturday evening. Nuñez confirmed that looting, or attempted looting, was recorded in many cities, including Paris, Rouen, Nantes, Toulouse and Marseille.

France's prime minister Sébastien Lecornu issued a statement addressing the protesters, saying 'we will not be intimidated' and adding that the perpetrators should bear the cost of the damage from the protests.

Youths wearing face masks and hoodies broke into City Hall in Marseille earlier on Saturday, where they vandalised a statue of Marianne, the female personification of the French Republic.

Meanwhile, there was fighting on the Place de la République – the Paris square – and close to the Gare du Nord Eurostar hub, where high-speed trains travel to and from London. Shops and businesses have barricaded their windows and doors and multiple metro stations in the French capital have been closed.

France faces aftermath of worst unrest in years

PARIS, Oct 18 (Reuters) - France woke on Sunday to the wreckage of one of its most violent days ‌of unrest in years after protests over high prices and public services left one demonstrator dead, hundreds of police injured and nearly 1,800 people arrested.

Nationwide demonstrations erupted into riots on Saturday, with a town hall torched, shops ransacked, and buildings covered in graffiti as violent groups clashed with police in cities across the country.

One protester died after suffering a cardiac arrest during demonstrations in Paris, where police made a record 855 arrests. Across France, police detained some 1,800 people and more than 500 officers were injured, the interior minister said.

More than half a million people joined marches in scores of cities, marking the convergence of a month-long student movement with broader social discontent against rising living costs and declining public services.

While hundreds of thousands protested peacefully, violent fringe groups targeted public buildings, looted luxury boutiques and supermarkets and attacked police vehicles and officers.

"No room for violence in our Republic," President Emmanuel Macron posted on X as the unrest unfolded late on Saturday. "Those who have ransacked, attacked the prefectures as well as businesses, looted even our town halls, will be prosecuted and punished."

A massive clean-up operation began in cities from Lille in the north to Marseille in ‌the south and Strasbourg in the east to Bordeaux in the southwest, where a masked mob invaded the residence of the local prefect.

In Paris, smashed shop windows, burnt-out bicycles and spray-painted slogans bore witness to a day that began largely with peaceful demonstrations but descended into violence.

In Limoges, workers assessed the damage to the 143-year-old city hall, which was partially destroyed in an arson attack.

The unrest has increased pressure on Macron and his government. Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu said the government would not be "intimidated" by violence, and blamed the unrest on the "ultra-left" and criminals, with a presidential election due next year.

Economy Minister Roland Lescure pledged support for business owners who suffered losses. "Those who break things will pay, repair the damage and be held accountable for their intention to sow chaos," Lescure said in a statement.

Bordeaux Mayor Thomas Cazenave said up to 100 stores had been looted in his city, while Marseille Mayor Benoit Payan announced emergency financial aid to support those businesses impacted by the violence.

The protests began last month over school conditions and teacher shortages in working-class suburbs, before broadening into a movement against inequality, public spending cuts and the rising cost of living.

« There is a degree of preparation for this day [of #17octobre] that is absolutely crucial. They had the addresses of the prefectures. They had the addresses of quite a few Jewish merchants.

In a street in Marseille, all the businesses owned by Jews were set on fire. The businesses run by Muslims were not. »

The Grand Turk
Body of five-year-old Kurdish girl found in Turkey-Greece border river
[Rudaw] The body of Mela Harem, a five-year-old Kurdish girl who drowned when a boat carrying her family and other migrants colonists capsized in a river along the The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
-Greece border, has been found, a Ottoman Turkish rescue official confirmed to Rudaw on Saturday.

"It has been confirmed that the body is Mela Harem," an official from Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) told Rudaw's Omar Sonmez at the site where the body was located.

Mela was one of three children who drowned on Wednesday when an overcrowded inflatable boat capsized in the Maritsa (Meric) River, known as the Evros in Greece, along the border between the two countries, as the family attempted to cross into Greece on their way to Germany.

The children’s father, Harem Mohammed, previously recounted to Rudaw how smugglers threatened him and forced his family onto a boat he said was too small to accommodate everyone on board.

Speaking by phone to Nma Nabaz, presenter of Rudaw’s Korozh news bulletin on Saturday, Mohammed pleaded with the public to refrain from adding to his family’s suffering following the tragedy.

"Please do not cause us so much pain. I did not know my fate would turn out like this. I wanted to provide a better life for my children. I am heartbroken; please leave us alone," he said.

Mohammed said he had flown from Sulaimani to Turkey before traveling to the border city of Edirne, where he met the smugglers who arranged the crossing.

"Our smuggler was named Rekan, from Erbil, along with a guide named Sarbaz, who was also from Erbil," he told Rudaw.

Recounting the moment the boat capsized, Mohammed said it struck a tree shortly after entering the water.

"As soon as we entered the water and moved just two meters, the boat hit a tree and capsized. When it overturned, I couldn't see anything—neither the children nor anyone else. I was only able to rescue my wife. The guides, who knew how to swim, saved themselves and fled," he said.

Mohammed and his wife, Hozan Rostam, subsequently reached a Ottoman Turkish border guard post and alerted authorities to the incident.

"I turned myself in to the border guards and told them, 'My three children have drowned in the water.' They immediately notified rescue teams and divers," he said.

The couple’s three children were Hastyar, 12, Haryad, 9, and Mela, 5. One child was pulled from the river but later died in hospital in Edirne, while the other two were swept away by strong currents.

Ottoman Turkish authorities launched a search-and-rescue operation involving AFAD and gendarmerie units to locate the missing children.

Mohammed had also appealed to the Kurdish authorities to help recover and repatriate his children’s bodies to the Kurdistan Region.

The family had hoped to reach Germany through Greece and had reportedly deposited $55,000 with smugglers, to be paid upon their arrival.

In an earlier warning to other families considering irregular migration routes, Mohammed urged parents not to place their trust in smugglers.

"Don't break your own hearts as I have broken mine, and don't be deceived by the words of smugglers," he said.

Texas Man Found with Pipe Bombs, Guns, Three Illegal Aliens near Border
[BB] A Corpus Christi man is charged with transporting illegal aliens after being arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Port Mansfield, Texas, on October 6. Agents arrested 28-year-old Alec Ray Foss after stopping a speedboat-type vessel he was piloting with three illegal aliens, an AR-style rifle, a pistol, and four pipe bombs on board.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, Border Patrol agents responded to the docks in Port Mansfield after receiving a tip from the Port Mansfield Police Department concerning three people boarding a speedboat-style vessel after exiting a vehicle nearby. Authorities saw the vessel leave the docks and travel north on the Intracoastal Waterway.

Court documents indicate a law enforcement aircraft observed the vessel 20 miles south of Corpus Christi. Border Patrol agents recognized the vessel as one Foss previously operated through an ongoing investigation. Within hours of receiving the first information about the suspected smuggling event, agents located the suspicious vessel at Bluff Landing.

Border Patrol agents approached Foss as he attempted to load the boat onto a trailer and leave the landing. According to the criminal complaint, as agents approached, Foss unlatched the vehicle from the trailer, boarded the vessel, and attempted to start the engine. Agents intervened, ordering Foss not to start the vessel and to disembark. Foss complied and was detained.

After being advised of his rights and agreeing to answer questions, Foss told agents there were three people on board. During a search, agents found three male subjects, later found to be illegally present in the United States, concealed inside the cabin area and an under-seat compartment. Border Patrol agents also located a handgun inside a bag, an AR-style rifle with a loaded drum magazine inserted into the weapon, and four suspected pipe bombs during the search.

According to court documents, Foss told authorities he expected to be paid $3,000 in cash for each illegal alien he transported once he delivered them to Houston, Texas. The three passengers found on the vessel with Foss were determined to be two citizens of Ecuador and one Guatemalan national illegally present in the United States.

According to a detention memo submitted to the court, Foss is not new to transporting illegal aliens. In 2023, authorities say Foss was arrested by deputies from the Zapata County Sheriff’s Department after being encountered during a vehicle stop in South Texas. At the time, Foss was driving a vehicle with three illegal aliens concealed behind the seat and in the trunk area of the vehicle. According to the United States Attorney’s Office, it ultimately dropped the charges in that case.
WTF?? Oh, Biden DOJ
In addition to the criminal case against Foss for transporting illegal aliens, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is investigating the pipe bombs located onboard the vessel.

As part of that investigation, ATF executed a search warrant at Foss’s residence on October 8. During the search, five firearms, 3,500 rounds of ammunition, and various materials used to construct pipe bombs were located and confiscated.

If found guilty of transporting illegal aliens with life endangerment, Foss faces up to 20 years in prison.

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] A supertanker carrying over 2 million barrels of oil struck a mine in the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported on October 17 by the Tasnim news agency, citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to the IRGC, the tanker violated Iran's rules for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. It was stated that the vessel attempted to transit the strait via an unauthorized route, having first disabled all navigation and radar systems.

The tanker collided with a mine, causing an explosion and a massive fire on board the vessel.

On October 11, an oil tanker struck a mine in the Strait of Hormuz and caught fire. The vessel, carrying crude oil, attempted to leave the strait after disabling its navigation systems. The tanker was traveling along an unauthorized route.

Before the US and Israeli attacks on Iran in February, approximately 20% of global energy exports passed through the Strait of Hormuz. US and Iranian officials claim to be in control of the waters. However, after a series of incidents involving tankers and other vessels that were struck by mines or struck by mines, shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has been reduced to a minimum.

According to the Iranian military, the large-capacity tanker was transporting over 2 million barrels of oil and attempted to bypass the strait in violation of established regulations.

"After colliding with a mine, a powerful explosion occurred in the ship's engine room," the IRGC press service said on its Telegram channel.

Representatives of the organization clarified that before entering the Strait of Hormuz, the tanker's crew turned off its navigation systems.

Deduct the costs from already seized Iranian assets.

Plus checkout the crew for terrorist type actions. Since the tanker was deliberately traveling along an unauthorized route and the crew disabled navigation and radar systems.
