[Defending The Republic] Dear Patriot, What a week!
Other than that hurricane, which is completely messing up the perfect record, America had a packed week of good news.
Dig in and stay safe!
1- WHAT a setting! WHAT a speech!
With the Acropolis as the backdrop, Secretary Rubio talks of what we inherited from the Greeks...the basis of our Western civilization. We are fighting now to hang on to this concept in America.
Watch Secretary Rubio delivery the speech; it is long but well worth your time.
It is rare, in our lifetime, to witness a truly great statesman.

US Halts Microsoft’s H-1B Status Amid Probe
QUOTE: Vice President JD Vance announced Thursday that the administration is suspending Microsoft’s access to the permanent labor certification program amid an ongoing investigation and called for scrutiny of nine universities over their use of foreign researchers.
Vance accused Microsoft of using foreign workers to replace American employees, saying the company laid off 6,000 U.S. workers last year while benefiting from 6,300 H-1B visas and nearly 3,000 green cards.
"In other words, if you do the math for every worker that Microsoft laid off, they replaced that worker with one and a half foreign indentured servants," Vance said.
Vance said the administration would suspend Microsoft’s participation in the permanent labor certification program, known as PERM, an employer-sponsored process used for many employment-based green cards.
"They’ll no longer be able to take those H-1Bs and apply for permanent resident status within the United States of America," he said.
Turning to universities, Vance said nine institutions merit investigation over their use of the J-1 exchange visitor visa program: Harvard University, Yale University, Stanford University, Brown University, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of California at Davis, the California Institute of Technology, Arizona State University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Vance said American graduate students and researchers earn about $20,000 more than workers brought in under J-1 visas. He also cited a 61% rate of J-1 use for federally funded grants at the nine universities, compared with a national average of 38%, without explaining how those figures were calculated.
Thursday’s announcement follows Vance’s July 8 disclosure in Milwaukee that the Labor Department had issued dozens of subpoenas as part of an investigation into alleged H-1B visa abuses.
3- Yes, we know of many people who have already received this unexpected $90.00 on Thursday.
AND the $500 from over-paying into horrible ObamaCare. All of the checks came with a nice letter from President Trump.
[Federalist] The government is setting up illegal migrant camps for fighting-age men from some of the West’s greatest recent enemies and yet is surprised when its military bases come under internal attack from within.
Investigations continue, and nobody fully knows what truly happened here yet, least of all, one suspects, the relevant U.K. authorities. The latest speculation from U.S. officials is that Iran may possibly have been planning a drone attack. What we can say with absolute certainty, however, is that the whole fiasco exposes just how rickety the entire British national security infrastructure is now perceived to be, by allies and foes alike.
There are several joint U.S.-U.K. military airbases across England, dating back to the Cold War, when the country still controlled its borders properly and enemies within were fairly scarce. As a result, external security is often surprisingly poor, consisting of little more than simple chain-link fences.
If Iran really wanted to damage U.S. planes, it would probably be far easier to do it using paid illegal immigrant proxies in England than surface-to-air missiles over the Gulf of Hormuz. British RAF bases have been easily breached beforehand by criminals no more sophisticated than keffiyeh-loving middle-class student-types. Only last year, a ragtag rabble from the left-wing activist mob Palestine Action easily managed to break into RAF Brize Norton, damaging military refueling aircraft by spray-painting them red. At least two vandals breached security whilst riding e-scooters.
The pro-Hamas vandals only had paint. Actual imported Hamas members could have had nitroglycerin. So seriously do the powers-that-be take security at RAF Brize Norton that, following the attack, the BBC broadcast an actual guide effectively educating evil-doers how best to break in there! (Just look for “weaker spots, perhaps covered in foliage” with “slightly smaller fences, no barbed wire,” advised the helpful reporter.)
At the same RAF base in 2023, a pointless queer DEI hire Estates Facilities Manager called Sara Hayes installed the first gay-friendly RAF “rainbow crossing.” She evidently felt protecting visiting trans-identifying individuals from being run over by passing aircrews was far more important than ensuring that certain lengths of the perimeter fencing were not obscured from sentries’ beady eyes by excessive “foliage.” The base’s then-overall commander was a mere HR lady posing as a soldier, who has in the past complained that “personality traits such as patriotism and bravery are viewed as desirable within the military.”
[DeutscheWelle] The men were arrested for breaching a perimeter fence at a UK air base that houses US and NATO intelligence operations. The incident comes after an alleged terror plot at another air base in England was foiled recently.
Two Latvian men have been arrested for breaching the perimeter fence at an RAF base used by the US military, UK police said Thursday.
The two UK residents, aged 36 and 32, were arrested by counterterrorism police at the Royal Air Force (RAF) Molesworth base in southeastern England, 70 miles north of London.
Police said they were being held on suspicion of trespassing, causing criminal damage and entering a prohibited place "for a purpose prejudicial to the UK."
A former World War II airbase, RAF Molesworth, is now a non-flying facility that is managed by the US Air Force. It houses intelligence personnel from US Africa Command and the NATO Intelligence Fusion Center, which provides information to the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe.
The incident comes after several men were arrested amid an alleged terror plot at another UK air base last month.
The men were discovered after Ministry of Defense Police found an abandoned vehicle during a security patrol at RAF Molesworth, about 60 miles north of London, and raised the alarm.
Subsequent checks uncovered a small breach in the perimeter fence, and the two men, aged 32 and 36, were arrested inside the base.
They were initially arrested on suspicion of trespassing on a prohibited site and criminal damage, before being re-arrested on suspicion of “entering a prohibited place for a purpose prejudicial to the UK” under the National Security Act 2023.
RAF Molesworth is used by US personnel and hosts intelligence analysis and command operations, as well as a NATO intelligence center. It is not used for flying operations.
Police said both men were residents of Britain and that officers were searching two addresses in the area around Peterborough, a nearby city.
Bomb disposal officers checked the abandoned vehicle but found nothing of concern, police said.
[PJ] Few things bring me more workday pleasure than an opportunity to mock The Lightbringer, the man whose very nomination caused the oceans to stop rising (or maybe stop receding), healed our racial divisions (except for those tricksy Jews and also white guys), and ushered in "a new way of being on the planet."
Of course, it's even more pleasurable when I don't have to think about Barack Obama at all, but he was never one of those "absence makes the heart grow fonder" people, so I have to leap on those mocking opportunities whenever they present themselves.
Today, for example, when I do believe I'll celebrate filing this column by shaking myself a martini.
Shall we begin?
The setup began Monday with a news item you're probably already well aware of. Despite polls showing Michigan Islamo-Commie Democrat Abdul El-Sayed with an insurmountable 417-point lead over his rival, that Republican dude that nobody is 100% certain is actually running.
Campaigns comfortably in the lead don't interrupt Obama from doing whatever it is he does these days — occasionally scold black men and count his Netflix money, I think — for a joint campaign stop on the first day of early voting.
That planned October 24 joint campaign appearance might get a little awkward, given what we just learned SAYED! really thought about the Lightbringer's performance as president.
And Another Thing: My editor assures me that there is a Republican nominee, that his name is Mike Rogers, and that he's been both on the campaign trail and occasionally (but only very occasionally) in the news. My editor also says that Al-Sayed now just uses "SAYED!" in his campaign materials. So, kind of like Madonna, but instead of getting you out on the dance floor, Madonna wanted to force you onto a prayer mat and confiscate your wealth.

Trump is fighting Obamacare fraud. Democrats are defending the numbers Democrats love double-talk. They claim to defend affordable healthcare while taxpayers finance fraudulent enrollments that harm the very consumers Obamacare was supposed to protect. Right on cue, they turned the Trump administration’s fraud crackdown into cruelty. Chuck Schumer claims the administration is kicking hundreds of thousands of people off their plans, while former Speaker Nancy Pelosi calls fraud enforcement a "false pretext" for stripping away coverage. Before Democrats declare 760,000 people victims of Republican cruelty, they should explain why taxpayers were financing policies that some consumers never requested, used or knew existed.
The Trump administration recently announced that CMS canceled approximately 315,000 unauthorized Obamacare enrollments covering more than 760,000 people and expected to recover approximately $2.2 billion in taxpayer-funded subsidies. An additional 419,000 enrollments are undergoing eligibility verification. Every taxpayer and every family struggling to afford health insurance should be alarmed. Instead, Rep. Richard Neal, the ranking Democrat on the House Ways and Means Committee, accused Republicans of "[doubling] down to take [coverage] away entirely," warning that the crackdown would increase medical debt and healthcare costs without acknowledging the fraudulent enrollment or the $2.2 billion in subsidies the administration expects to recover.
GAO found that Biden-era controls failed to verify consumer consent, restrict broker access or notify patients when plans changed. Complaints involving confirmed unauthorized activity more than quadrupled from 2023 through 2025. Predatory brokers used basic personal information to enroll consumers or switch their plans without permission, changed their contact information to conceal the activity and then collected compensation from insurers. Victims risked losing doctors or medications, paying higher copayments and deductibles or repaying tax credits based on false information.
The workers are invoking Obama's own public support for organized labor as they seek to form Obama Workers United, urging foundation leadership to respect their right to organize.
In the letter, signed by dozens of employees, workers said increasing workloads, reduced benefits and a lack of support from leadership have contributed to high staff turnover at the foundation, which operates the recently opened Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.
[Federalist] Protests raged at more than 1,200 French high schools in a single week, with arson, blockades, attacks, and clashes with police. This is not a student movement grown out of control, it is a legitimacy crisis in action.
In the U.S., the plan for a similar rejection of government authority metastasized from sporadic anti-ICE violence in the 2010s to the burning of police stations and major city blocks in 2020, the roadblocks by Gaza protesters in 2024, and the dramatic anti-federal uprising in Minneapolis in January 2026.
The plan to smuggle in a revolution is in full swing. That’s what democratic socialism is — an explicit revolution. The U.S. Constitution and democratic socialism cannot coexist, and yet an adherent of that alien form of government, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is again considered a potential front-runner for the U.S. presidency in 2028. And People magazine is much friendlier to AOC than it ever was to Bernie Sanders.
About their aims, don’t believe me, believe their own program. The Democratic Socialists of America on its official website calls for a new constitution, abolition of the Senate and Electoral College, and replacement of the presidency and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress. This movement is growing and must be understood as a literal plan for revolution.
SOCIALIST STRENGTH IN THE U.S.
Many of us read in history books about the rise of socialism and communism in the U.S., beginning in the 19th century, but the movement is closer to political power today than its most famous American predecessors ever came. Socialist Party nominee Eugene V. Debs received roughly 900,000 votes nationwide in the 1912 presidential election. Bernie Sanders received 13.2 million in the 2016 Democratic nominating contest alone, nearly 15 times as many votes, while the voting-eligible population had grown by only about ninefold.
Members of this revolutionary party are firmly ensconced in our national legislature. A 2025 Cato/YouGov survey found that socialism’s favorable rating among Democrats was 17 percentage points higher than capitalism’s: 67 percent versus 50 percent.

The two young women are separated by 82 years, but to look at their photographs you might think they were sisters. And in a sense they are.
As Israel and its friends prepared to mark the third anniversary of the October 7 atrocities, I considered but then abandoned the thought of contributing a piece for the occasion here on PJ Media. I’m not a Jew, after all, nor did I know anyone who suffered the horrors of that day. Others, I reasoned, were better suited to write on the topic, as indeed they did (see here and here, for example).
But then, as the hours passed yesterday and I began to see images of the pro-Hamas marches taking place in New York City and elsewhere, I was jolted into awareness that this is not a time to remain silent.
While scrolling through X yesterday, I came across this post from Rabbi Elchanan Poupko, the video from which originated with Freedomnews TV. The video shows a young woman, in her late teens or early twenties, watching from a New York City sidewalk as the local chapter of the Hamas Admiration Society marches past braying their insipid chants.
The woman in the video is plainly overcome with sadness, but no one in the nearby crowd can bestir himself to offer her comfort or even a kind word. "If she is one of our people," writes Rabbi Poupko in concluding his post, "there is no sympathy. Like in the 1930s, the world has decided it can be cruel to Jewish people. If you do know her, please let her know that every Jewish person stands with her."
The video has been widely viewed on X and elsewhere, and I hope that in writing about this woman I don’t bring additional unwanted attention upon her, but I want her to know it is not only Jewish people who stand with her.
In seeing her anguish I was immediately reminded of a haunting picture. On March 25, 1944, the Weeping Woman of Ioannina was photographed as she and the 2,000 other Jews of Ionnanina, Greece, were rounded up and sent to Auschwitz. Nearly all of them would die there, though the woman in the iconic photograph somehow survived.
Perhaps we will learn why the woman in New York was so moved, but I suspect she fears that if all those people marching in the street were to have their way, she and her family and friends will one day hear the knock on the door, the same knock heard by the Jews of Ioannina and so many other cities and towns across Europe in the 1930s and -40s.
This is not hyperbole. As they have been since even before the bodies were counted three years ago, the Hamas fans were very explicit in expressing their hatred for Jews yesterday. "There is only one solution," they shout, "intifada revolution." This is much more than a dog whistle; it is a not so thinly veiled call for the elimination of Jews, not just from Israel but from everywhere. If you doubt this, consider that some of yesterday’s marchers held posters of Yahya Sinwar, who, while imprisoned for the abduction and murder of two Israeli soldiers, had a life-threatening brain tumor removed by Israeli surgeons. He was among the more than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners released in exchange for a single captive Israeli soldier in 2011. He repaid these acts of mercy by going on to plan and lead the savagery of Oct. 7, 2023. (He was killed in battle a year later.
Later in the video in which the crying woman appears, we see a verbal confrontation between a marcher and man seated at a sidewalk café. In word and gesture, the man calmly expresses his contempt for the marcher and his cohorts, but what I found more interesting was the reaction of two young men seated next to him. Rather than risk being associated with their fellow customer, they move to an adjacent table in the hope of avoiding any escalation that might occur.
Perhaps this was the prudent choice in the moment, but the day is fast approaching when prudence must give way to courage. The Weeping Woman of Ioannina and the millions of Europe’s Jews were rounded up and sent to death camps because the world, like the two men at the café, like everyone who fails to recognize evil and confront it, stood by and allowed it to happen.
"Never again" is not an idle slogan. "Never again" starts with you.

[FOX] RED OAK, Texas — A data center firm is taking a very different approach by integrating into the communities where they build the massive facilities needed to power Americans' technology and support the growing artificial intelligence (AI) boom.
As these centers face flak over growing concerns about their impact on resources and infrastructure, Compass Datacenters CEO Chris Crosby tells Fox News Digital that it's up to companies like his to work with communities, identify local needs, plan improvements and invest in projects that benefit residents.
And that's what he aimed to do from the start when building out a hyperscale data center campus in a town of approximately 20,000 people just 20 miles south of Dallas. Crosby detailed how he was able to create a data center with "no noise, no light pollution" and a completely water-free cooling system.
"Do you need a fire truck? Do you need a new school? Do you need baseball fields for your community?" Crosby proposed in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital. "These are important capital investments that can really boost a community, and many communities should be asking for those things."
"When you think about durability and putting a hundred-year-type asset into a community, you better do that really well and in conjunction with that community," he added.
In Red Oak, Compass donated $15 million to build an animal shelter after the SPCA ended its contract in the town last year, Crosby said.
His company also partnered with Texas State Technical College on a $12.6 million training facility to expand the school’s Mechanical, Electrical and IT Data Center Pathway program. The 12-week course is designed to help people enter skilled trades and technical careers that data centers rely on. The work includes electricians, mechanics and technicians, as well as construction trades such as carpentry, welding and concrete work.
Crosby said the program is open to people without prior qualifications and prepares them for careers across the industry.
"We can’t get enough people into this career," he said. "Unfortunately, there was a war on blue-collar jobs a while back and everybody had to get a four-year degree. I’m so glad that’s over with."
Compass — headquartered in America's data center capital in Loudoun County, Virginia — began developing its Red Oak campus in 2019.
It now includes 10 data center buildings, a Schneider Electric manufacturing facility and the training center. Crosby said about 900 people work on site — roughly 600 for Compass and 300 for Schneider Electric — in addition to the thousands of construction workers who have worked on the project over the past five years.
