A detailed analysis of what happened July 22-27 in Mali
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the Telegram channel of razgruzka_vagnera

[ColonelCassad] Official from Wagner on the battle in northern Mali near the border with Algeria.

A DETAILED ANALYSIS OF WHAT HAPPENED ON JULY 22-27 IN MALI
Seven days ago, fighters of the 13th Assault Detachment of the Wagner PMC, led by commander Sergei Shevchenko, call sign "Pond", together with servicemen of the Malian Armed Forces FAM, entered into an unequal battle with superior forces of Islamists from the Coordination Movement of Azawad (CMA) and al-Qaeda in the Sahel (JNIM) (banned in Russia), and for several days heroically fought the militants, not sparing their own lives. More details on how it happened.

BEGINNING OF THE OPERATION: RECONNAISSANCE AND SEARCH FOR RADICALS
On July 22, 2024, the allied forces of the Wagner PMC and the Malian army received information that large detachments of radicals from the CMA had appeared in the Tin-Zoutine area. The 13th Assault Detachment under the command of Sergei Shevchenko, call sign "Pond", was sent to search for and eliminate the militants.

Upon arrival, the fighters of the "Pruda group" and FAMa confirmed the intelligence information, having discovered a large concentration of CMA forces: detachments of militants, totaling about 100 people, as well as more than 10 pickups with large-caliber weapons. Based on this, the "Orchestra" command decided to attack the Islamists.

In the battle, the 13th Assault Detachment of the Wagner PMC destroyed up to 50 radicals and six units of equipment. The remnants of the militants were unable to resist the orchestra members and fled the battlefield.

COUNTERATTACK OF THE ISLAMISTS AND THE FORTITUDE OF THE "MUSICIANS"
From July 22 to 25, the "orchestra" fighters continued to search for radicals in the conditions of a sandstorm despite everything. Realizing that the Islamists would not stop there, the leadership of the Wagner PMC decided to transfer additional forces to the area. Taking advantage of the delay, the militants tried to counterattack using all available means. The attack on the "musicians" was coordinated by field commander Abda-Rahman Zaza, who led the JNIM units that arrived to help the Islamists.

Thanks to the skillful and competent actions of the 13th Assault Unit, the radicals were unable to carry out their plans. But in turn, the Wagner PMC fighters suffered their first losses: several stormtroopers were wounded in combat, including the commander of the "Prud" unit.

Despite the sandstorm, fierce resistance from the militants and ambushes on the escape routes, additional forces of the "musicians" continued to move to help their brothers. They fought their way through and hurried to help their comrades.

Meanwhile, the personnel of the "Prud group" and FAM took up all-round defense and steadfastly repelled the attacks of the superior forces of the CMA and JNIM: their number exceeded more than 1,000 people. The detachment's fighters continued to fight, and the radicals did not slow down the pace of the attack and tried to suppress the "musicians" with a huge number of fighters.

Despite the dust storm, the crews of the MI-8 and MI-24 helicopters of the Wagner PMC decided to move to help their comrades. One combat vehicle was shot down by oncoming fire from militants, but the crew of the second helicopter, despite the death of the commander and the injuries sustained by the co-pilot and flight engineer, completed the mission and returned to base, making an emergency landing.

THE LAST DAYS OF THE BATTLE
Understanding the complexity of the situation and the likelihood of complete encirclement, the commander of the orchestra, Sergei Shevchenko, call sign "Prud", decided to move in the direction of the moving reserves on the night of July 26-27. By this time, he had already been wounded twice and was in serious condition, but he led the detachment under intensified attacks by the Islamists.

Closer to four o'clock on July 27, the detachment reported losses among the "Orchestra" fighters and FAMa soldiers. In addition, the commander of the 13th Assault Squad, Sergei Shevchenko, call sign "Prud", who continued to stand to the end despite everything, also fell in battle

. At 17:10 on July 27, the last radiogram was received from our brothers: "There are three left, we continue to fight." It was sent by the commander of the assault platoon, call sign "Nike".

All the Wagner PMC fighters who died in battle will be awarded (posthumously).

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

What is Russia doing in Mali?
WHY RUSSIA NEEDS MALI
The latest activity and interest in Russian instructors from the Wagner PMC and the African Corps raises a reasonable question: "What are we forgetting in Mali?"

▪️The answer to this question is not a secret - resources that can be obtained not from Western companies, but from friendly regimes. The most important of them is lithium.

In addition, there are some oil and gas reserves in the Taoudenni basin, which, due to their high cost, were not extracted by anyone, and now they are under the control of the Islamist DNIM and the separatists of Azawad. I partially touched on this topic when FAMa staged ( https://t.me/departamente/3727 ) a raid in In-Afarak.

As far as I understand, the only reason why they did not move north is the interests of the Khalija monarchs, who are exploring oil and gas fields under the cover of reporters. Violating relations with them at the moment is not profitable.

Lithium is mainly used by Western companies, but given the trend towards anti-colonialist rhetoric, their positions are weakening and may well be taken by domestic companies. Its importance lies in its use in electronics, which is still a source of dependence.

But the best way to strengthen friendship is to help defeat all the rebels and Islamists in the region. This increases the population's trust and the leadership is more willing to make agreements. The main thing is to maintain image.

Unpleasant losses in the border zone, of course, will not stop the strategy of taking control of the border with Algeria, as well as all major settlements in northern Mali. The night events with the "Wagners" only showed that the enemy should not be underestimated and it can be expected that in future operations such threats of ambushes will be treated much more seriously; according to a number of channels, additional contingents from other countries have already been transferred to Mali.

Regarding the captured Wagners, negotiations are underway with the militants to exchange both the prisoners and the bodies of the dead fighters, so that they can be buried with dignity. The losses amounted to about a platoon of ours + an unspecified number of Malian army soldiers + several units of wheeled vehicles.

Rogozin calls for release of Wagner Group fighters from Basmachi captivity in Mali
The bodies of the dead Wagner Group fighters, as well as those captured during the clash with the Tuaregs, must be returned to Russia. This was stated on July 29 by Dmitry Rogozin, a member of the Federation Council from the Zaporizhia region.

“We must do everything possible to rescue our living guys from captivity at the hands of these Basmachi and to take back the bodies of the dead Wagner heroes,” the senator wrote on his Telegram channel.

Rogozin also called on all the dead fighters of the group to be buried with honor, and for the living to be returned to their homeland and accepted as heroes.

Wagner Group Confirms Fighters Killed in Fierce Clash with Tuaregs in Mali
The Wagner Group commented on the situation in Mali, where PMC fighters and the Malian armed forces were ambushed by Tuaregs. The statement was published in the Telegram channel "Wagner Unloading".

It is noted that from July 22 to 27, servicemen of the Malian Armed Forces and fighters of the 13th assault detachment of the PMC in the vicinity of the settlement of Tin-Zoutine "conducted fierce battles with militants from the Coordination Movement of Azawad (CMA) and the group Al-Qaeda in the Sahel (JNIM, a terrorist organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation)."

On the first day, the group destroyed most of the radicals and put the rest to flight, but a sandstorm set in, which allowed the terrorists to regroup and increase their numbers to a thousand people, the PMC specified.

They added that in connection with this, the command decided to transfer additional forces to the combat zone.

It was reported that Malian troops were carrying out massive strikes on a bastion of concentration of terrorists and smugglers. Five terrorist targets were successfully destroyed by drones of the Armed Forces of Mali, the General Staff noted.

Civilians living in the area where military operations are taking place were called upon to leave the territories where terrorists are located in order to avoid casualties.

[IsraelTimes] US Central Command (CENTCOM) says its forces successfully destroyed one Iranian-backed Iran's Houthi sock puppets

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. Britain
Two children killed in London knife attack, UK police say
[IsraelTimes] Two children were stabbed to death at a Taylor Swift-themed event in northwest England, and a 17-year-old male suspect was arrested, police said on Monday.

He was held on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Nine other children were maimed, six of them critically, and two adults were at death's door.

"We believe that the adults who were injured were bravely trying to protect the children," said Chief Constable Serena Kennedy from Merseyside Police.
It’s apparently the county that contains Liverpool.
She said emergency services arriving at the scene found “multiple people, many of whom were children, had been subjected to a ferocious attack and had suffered serious injuries.”

An advertisement posted online described the event as a yoga and dance workshop for children aged between 6 and 11.

Merseyside Police said the motive for the attack was unclear, but it was not believed to be terrorism-related and they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbings.
An un-institutionalized nutter running amok?
Police said armed police arrested the suspect and seized a knife after being called around 11:50 a.m. (1050 GMT) to an address in Southport, north of Liverpool.

… it is now open season on children. Did Western leaders think their children would be spared? What did think would happen when they imported millions of jihadis?

https://gellerreport.com/2024/07/muslim-migrant-arrested-in-mass-slaughter-of-children-at-taylor-swift-dance-class.html/

The Geller link adds:
A 17-year-old Ali Al-Shakati from Banks has been arrested in connection with the Southport stabbings and is currently in police custody.

The suspect in the Southport stabbings, Ali-Al-Shakati, was on the MI6 watch list and known to Liverpool mental health services. He was an asylum seeker who arrived in the UK by boat last year.
Betcha guessed that was coming, didn't you?
None of the news sources I checked had that information, for some reason. Good find, Fred — now I can move it from Non-WoT to Page 1: WoT.

#5  Some confusion, indeed. Skidmark’s Fox News link reports qbout the knifeman:

…both the AP and the Sun report that the suspect was born in Cardiff, Wales.

The Sun reported that the parents of the suspected attacker, born in 2006, moved to the United Kingdom from Rwanda.

A neighbor of the family described them to the Sun as Christians, "very normal," and having a "hard-working father and stay-at-home mother."

About the riot:

The English town of Southport was the scene of clashes between protesters and police the day after the death of at least three girls in a mass stabbing inflicted by an unnamed 17-year-old male.

The victims, Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 9, Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, and Bebe King, 6, were attending a Taylor Swift-themed dance class at the time of the attack.

North West Ambulance Services reported via X that 22 police officers have been treated, and at least 11 have been taken to the hospital in the wake of the Southport riots. At least one police van has been set ablaze by the crowds. A source describes the town as "quiet."

It is unclear what punishments protesters may face. Police vans and garbage bins have been set ablaze in the melee.

Interesting times, government-inflicted.

Turkey detains 13 for alleged PKK support in viral videos
27. July, 2024
[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish counter-terrorism forces on Saturday detained 13 suspects for allegedly appearing in viral videos showing them playing songs, and dancing while chanting slogans in support of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Ottoman Turkish state media Anadolu Agency reported that security forces in Istanbul, launched into social media videos showing a woman playing "PKK anthems" in her car, and another video of young individuals chanting slogans in support of the imprisoned PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan.

According to Anadolu, the Ottoman Turkish counterterrorism teams launched simultaneous operations at 24 locations across 7 districts, detaining 13 suspects and seizing "digital material."

This comes days after a similar incident in the southern Mersin province, where security forces arrested 10 people for chanting slogans in support of Ocalan.

On Friday, Ottoman Turkish police arrested six women in Siirt province for dancing in a video to a song that praises PKK fighters. The women were shown wearing traditional Kurdish clothes in the video.

The PKK is a Kurdish group that has waged an armed insurgency against the Ottoman Turkish state for decades in the struggle for greater Kurdish rights and is designated a terrorist organization by Ankara.

Clashes between Ottoman Turkish forces and the PKK fighters have intensified recently in the Kurdistan Region. This escalation in attacks is a part of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
’s stated plans to eradicate the Kurdish group along its southern border.

In March, Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
said Ankara is close to completing a zone that will "permanently resolve" the security issues along their border with the Kurdistan Region and Iraq by summer.

Turkey has deployed a large number of troops in Duhok province since mid-June.

Erdogan said on Monday that Ankara would get Dire Revenge for one of their soldiers who was killed in Duhok, and all their losses in the region: "We are avenging all these losses. They are paying a very heavy price and will continue to do so."

But Ankara’s relentless military strikes and the deployment of ground troops also have stoked fear in the villagers of Duhok province’s mountainous areas who fear displacement from their villages as mortar shells and constant gunfire prompt panic.

Turkey has carried out more than 1,000 attacks on the Kurdistan Region and Nineveh province so far in 2024, according to conflict monitor Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT) data.

Pittsburgh synagogue vandalized with pro-Hamas graffiti
[IsraelTimes] Inverted red triangle used by Hamas in propaganda videos showing attacks on Israelis painted alongside ‘Jews for Palestine’ on Squirrel Hill Chabad. Federation, homes also hit

Vandals painted a symbol associated with Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
on a synagogue in Pittsburgh, near the site of the deadliest attack on Jews in US history.

The slogan "Jews for Paleostine" and an inverted red triangle appeared Monday on Chabad of Squirrel Hill, walking distance from Tree of Life, the synagogue complex where a white supremacist murdered 11 Jews in 2018. The building is across the street from a Jewish day school.

The inverted red triangle is linked to the Hamas terror group, which has used it on propaganda videos produced by its al-Qassam military wing to signify Israeli targets. It has since been adopted by pro-Paleostinian demonstrators.

Last month, vandals painted a red triangle on the home of the Jewish director of the Brooklyn Museum while a banner they strung across her porch branded her a "white supremacist Zionist." The triangle was also used with graffiti threatening "Hamas is coming" painted on a statue near Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, last week.

Some pro-Paleostinian advocates say the triangle symbolizes resistance, generally, and have used it as a pro-Paleostinian signifier in their social media profiles. But critics say it represents a call to violence given its origins.

"The Squirrel Hill community witnessed the deadliest act of antisemitism in our nation’s history at Tree of Life Synagogue," Gov. Josh Shapiro, a Jewish Democrat, said on social media. "They should not need to wake up to antisemitic graffiti in their neighborhood. Vandalism of any type of a house of worship has no home in our Commonwealth — and we must all continue to call it out and speak with moral clarity."

Rabbi Yisroel Altein, the director of the Chabad synagogue, said the municipality had already cleaned up the graffiti and that he had shared security camera footage with the police.

"People are obviously fearful, considering," he said, referring to the 2018 shooting. But he said there was also a lot of local support, which was heartening. "Everyone’s reaching out, expressing their support and willingness to help."

A sign outside the office of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh was also vandalized. It said the federation "funds genocide" and used emojis and words to exhort observers to love Jews but "hate Zionists."

"For a Jewish community still healing from the worst antisemitic attack in U.S. history in 2018 and now retraumatized by the worst single act of terrorism against Jews since the Holocaust, these acts of vandalism are particularly despicable," the federation said in a statement, which noted that several private homes had also been vandalized. "Vandalism targeting Jews is criminal hate speech, pure and simple."

Separately, vandals in Calgary, Canada, on Saturday night painted the red triangle along a route that a local synagogue, Beth Tzedec, had publicized for an Israel solidarity march that took place the next day.

"Free Paleostine" and the triangle appeared on a sound barrier. David Inhaber, the synagogue’s CEO, said there was also graffiti daubed on an overpass. Both properties belong to the municipality.

"We had upwards of a thousand registrants and walk ups and at 1 pm yesterday, we commenced our march around the neighborhood," Inhaler said. "I believe through advertising and media the route was shared on social media or simply leaked allowing for graffiti to be introduced the previous evening. It was adjacent to our property and along the route."

Inhaber said the community reported the graffiti to police.

Five terrorists killed in three separate operations in KP
[GEO.TV] Security forces have killed five holy warriors in three separate operations in different areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

A joint intelligence-based operation was conducted in Mohmand district and three terrorists, including "Kharji alias Qari of Fitna Al Khawarij," were successfully neutralised, said the military's media wing in a statement.

It further said that during the conduct of the operation, terrorists’ hideout was also busted and a cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was recovered. However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
police constable Abrar Hussain (resident of district Swabi) of the KP police, having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat during the intense exchange of gunfire, it said.

In another intelligence-based operation conducted in the Dera Ismail Khan
... the Pearl of Pashtunistan ...
district, security forces effectively engaged terrorists’ location, as a result of which "Kharji Sifatullah Mullah Mansoor of Fitna Al Khawarij was sent to hell," while three other holy warriors got injured, said the ISPR statement.

The army's media wing said that Kharji Sifatullah was involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area including the facilitation of a suicide kaboom attack in Daraban on December 12, 2023, and was highly wanted by law enforcement agencies.

In a third engagement that occurred in the North Wazoo district, "another Kharji terrorist of Fitna Al Khawarij was sent to hell" by the security forces, according to the statement.

"Pakistain’s security forces stand shoulder to shoulder with other law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and stability across Pakistain and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve," it added.

'STATE WON'T ALLOW FATWAS CALLING FOR MURDER'
Earlier in the day, the federal government announced that it won't allow malicious propaganda against the CJP and will take strict action against those responsible for it.

"The state will not allow anyone to issue a fatwa calling for someone's murder," Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said in a presser in Islamabad.

Flanked by Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal, the defence minister, while referring to the propaganda campaign hurled against the chief justice following the SC verdict in the Mubarak Sani case, said that an attempt is being made to use religion for bloodshed for vested political interests.

"There has been malicious propaganda about the chief justice and he has been targeted for a long time," said the federal minister.

He said that an attempt is being made to silence a voice which has set a tradition of speaking truth, reiterating that the law will take its course.

Asif further said that the state will now take action because CJP Isa has been targeted for a long time, adding that baseless accusations cannot be made against someone.

"There should be supremacy of Constitution in the country and justice should prevail. [The state] will not accept dictation aimed towards securing personal interests in the name of politics," he added.

Iraq
Suspected Turkish bombardment on Sulaimani village sparks fire
27. July, 2024
[Rudaw] A large fire has been burning in eastern Sulaimani province’s Mawat district since Friday evening, allegedly due to Ottoman Turkish bombardment of the area. There are no reports of casualties.

Kamaran Hassan, Mawat’s mayor, told Rudaw on Saturday that warplanes targeted Galala village in the district at around 11:00 pm Friday, setting fire to a large area of fields and pastures.

In the hot and dry summer, fires are easily sparked and can spread quickly.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

intensified its military operations in the Kurdistan Region in mid-June, under the pretext of targeting the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

In addition to Mawat, suspected Ottoman Turkish warplanes also struck Erbil’s Choman and Sidakan districts on Friday evening, Kamaran Osman, a member of the US-based Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT) - Iraqi Kurdistan team, told Rudaw.

Rojnews, a PKK-affiliated media outlet, reported that Ottoman Turkish strikes also targeted Aghjalar subdistrict, west of Sulaimani, on Saturday.

Hundreds of Ottoman Turkish troops and military vehicles have been deployed into the Kurdistan Region since June, establishing checkpoints and conducting patrols in northern Duhok’s Barwari Bala area. The military campaign has sparked renewed fears among villagers.

At least nine people have been killed in Ottoman Turkish attacks on the Kurdistan Region since the start of the year, according to Osman.

Mawat is a frequent target of suspected Ottoman Turkish strikes. At least one person was killed in an Arclight airstrike

on a house in Galala in April.

In August 2023, two suspected PKK members were killed in separate Ottoman Turkish dronezaps on the same day, one on Sulaimani’s Dukan-Khalakan road and the other on Mawat.

Ankara has accused Sulaimani’s administration of having close ties with the PKK. A flight ban on Sulaimani International Airport by Turkey has been in place since April 2023. The Ottoman Turkish foreign ministry has said that the ban is related to an "intensification" of PKK activity in the province.

25 ‘international’ drug-trafficking networks dismantled in Iraq in 2024: Official
28. July, 2024
[Rudaw] Iraqi authorities have disbanded 25 so-called "international" drug-trafficking networks since the start of the year, said an official from the interior ministry on Saturday.

"In cooperation with neighboring countries, 25 international drug-trafficking networks have been dismantled in 2024," Ziyad Khalaf, an official of the ministry’s drug affairs directorate, told Iraqi state media, adding that extraditions and exchange of information have taken place between the countries.

Iraqi courts have also issued 74 death sentence

s for suspected drug pushers since the start of the year, according to Khalaf.

"The number of setences issued during the current year is very high due to the arrest operations... The last three years only witnessed 54 sentences issued," he added.

There has been an alarming rise in drug dealing and use in Iraq in recent years, despite strict measures taken by the government to curb the phenomenon.

SDF kills ISIS operative in east Syria
26. July 2024
[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Thursday said that its forces killed an Islamic State (ISIS) operative during a security operation in eastern Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province.

“Our SDF Anti-Terrorism Units (YAT) successfully eliminated one of the ISIS terrorists’ operatives during a security operation in Markada, eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor,” read a statement from the SDF.

The SDF said that the ISIS operative was involved in “carrying out assassinations targeting military and security forces,” as well as attacking civilians in the region.

SDF kills one in ISIS cell raid in Raqqa

[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Sunday announced that its anti-terrorism units, in cooperation with the global coalition, have dismantled an Islamic State

(ISIS) cell in northern Raqqa province, killing an operative and arresting another.

The SDF said in a statement that its anti-terrorism units (YAT) conducted a security operation with support from the global coalition, targeting "an ISIS terrorist cell consisting of two murderous Moslems in al-Karamah, east of Raqqa City.

"Supported by Coalition aerial surveillance, our YAT forces raided the hideout of the terrorist cell. One of the terrorists, Abu al-Harith, refused to answer the call for safe surrender and opened fire on our forces who dealt with the situation professionally and eliminated him," said the SDF, adding that another member, named Saad Salim al-Hamdan, was captured in the raid.

Though the jihadists no longer control any territory, they continue to pose a security risk by carrying out kidnappings, hit-and-run attacks, and bombings, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), who control Rojava, conduct frequent operations against the group.

The Kurdish-led and US-backed SDF fought the lion’s share of the battle against ISIS and arrested thousands of the group’s fighters along with their wives and children when they crushed ISIS territorially and took the group’s last stronghold in Syria in 2019.

The SDF has increased its anti-ISIS operations in recent weeks.

On Saturday, the SDF announced that its forces killed an ISIS operative during a security operation in eastern Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province.

In late March, the SDF warned that ISIS still poses a threat to the world and the region as its defeat "requires dismantling its ideological breeding ground."

"ISIS is still trying to recruit new terrorist elements, attempting to radicalize them into its ranks," said the SDF, calling on the international community to "collaborate effectively" with its forces.

Hezbollah moves missiles as region braces for IDF response to deadly Golan attack
[IsraelTies] Two members of terror group killed in Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon; ministers reportedly not shown retaliation options for fear they would leak them

Hezbollah has begun moving around its precision-guided missiles, as the region braced for a fierce Israeli response to a rocket attack by the terror group over the weekend that killed 12 children.
I imagine the Eyes in the Sky are fascinated.
An official with a Lebanese group told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named on Monday that Hezbollah’s stance has not changed, and that the Iran-backed organization does not want a full-blown war with Israel, but that if war breaks out it will fight without limits.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive activities, said Hezbollah since Sunday has started moving some of its "smart precision-guided missiles" to use if needed.

Earlier Monday, two Hezbollah operatives were killed in an IDF dronezap in southern Leb

. Lebanese rescue services said two people were killed and three were maimed, including a child, in the attack between the southern Lebanon towns of Mays al-Jabal and Shaqra.

According to Lebanese media, the strike targeted a car and a cycle of violence.

The IDF later confirmed carrying out the strike, publishing footage of the attack.

Following the attack, Hezbollah announced the deaths of two members killed "on the road to Jerusalem," its term for operatives slain in Israeli strikes. They were named as Abbas Hijazi, from Majdel Selm, and Abbas Salami, from Khirbet Selm.

Their deaths brought the terror group’s toll since the beginning of the war in the Gazoo

Strip to at least 383.

They were the first operatives killed in an IDF strike since Saturday, when four members of the terror group’s elite Radwan force were killed. After that, Hezbollah carried out the rocket attack on the Golan Heights town of Majdal Shams that killed 12 children and teens.

Hezbollah has denied its involvement in the attack, but Israel and the United States have blamed on the Lebanese terror group. The IDF has also provided evidence tying Hezbollah to the attack.

Israel has vowed retaliation against Hezbollah, and Israeli jets hit targets in southern Lebanon early Sunday and reportedly shelled sites there just after midnight Monday.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, another bullet hole appeared in Butch's hat......
a barrage of 20 rockets was fired Monday from Lebanon at the Gomeh Junction area, just south of Kiryat Shmona, the IDF said.

Hezbollah took responsibility for the attack, claiming to have targeted an Israeli military position in response to the deadly strike near Shaqra.

There were no injuries.

A short while after the attack, a Hezbollah site in southern Lebanon’s Houla, used to carry out the rocket barrage, was struck by fighter jets, the IDF said.

Additionally, the IDF said fighter jets struck Hezbollah infrastructure in Kfarhamam, used in a rocket attack on the Mount Dov area.

Also on Monday, a drone launched from Lebanon was shot down by the Israeli Navy over Israel’s territorial waters in northern Israel, the military said. The drone was intercepted by one of the Navy’s Sa’ar 6-class corvettes.

Over the weekend, another Hezbollah drone, thought to be heading toward Israeli offshore gas infrastructure, was shot down by the Navy.

Earlier on Monday, the IDF said a drone that crossed into the Western Galilee from Lebanon was intercepted by air defenses.

The interception triggered predawn rocket sirens in the towns of Yaara and Adamit due to fears of falling shrapnel, according to the IDF.

Late Sunday, Lebanese media reports Israeli Arclight airstrike

And on Sunday morning, the IDF said fighter jets struck a series of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon the previous night, following the Majdal Shams attack.

The targets included weapon depots and other infrastructure in Shabriha and Burj el-Shemali near Tyre; the Beqaa Valley; and southern Lebanon’s Kafr Kila, Rab al-Thalathine, Khiam and Tayr Harfa, according to the military.

None of those strikes appeared to be Israel’s response to the deadly Hezbollah rocket attack on Majdal Shams, which is expected to be more significant.

beyond Gaza’s borders.

So far, the skirmishes have resulted in 24 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 18 IDF soldiers and reservists. There have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.

Hezbollah has named 383 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon but some in Syria. In Lebanon, another 68 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of civilians have been killed.

MQ-9 Reaper drones twice came dangerously close to Russian Aerospace Forces Su-24 in Syria
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Two American MQ-9 Reaper drones came dangerously close to Su-24 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the skies over Syria. This was reported on July 28 by the deputy head of the Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides (CRPS) in the SAR, Oleg Ignasyuk.

“Two incidents were recorded involving dangerous approaches between MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles of the ‘coalition’ and Su-24 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which were carrying out a planned flight in the airspace of Syria,” he said during a briefing on July 28.

Ignasyuk clarified that the incidents in question occurred in the area of the settlement of Es-Sukhna in the province of Homs on July 27 from 08:57 to 09:00 and from 09:50 to 09:54 Moscow time (coincides with local time) at an altitude of 6,500 meters.

It is noted that the collision was avoided thanks to the actions of Russian pilots, who demonstrated high professionalism and took the necessary measures in a timely manner.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, it was previously reported that the Russian Forpost-R unmanned aerial vehicle, in response to the ongoing attempts by radical groups to attack targets in the territory controlled by the Syrian government using UAVs and multiple launch rocket systems, struck a militant base in Idlib province. Over the course of 24 hours on July 22, terrorist groups recorded five attacks on positions of Syrian government troops in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib.

Iran says it has seized a tanker carrying counterfeit oil in the Persian Gulf
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] On July 26, the Pearl G tanker flying the flag of the African country of Togo was detained in the Persian Gulf with 700 thousand liters of contraband oil, the Tasnim agency reported on July 29, citing a statement by the military from the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

"The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps detained the Pearl G tanker, flying the flag of the African country of Togo, on Friday morning in the northern part of the Persian Gulf near the Arash oil field, belonging to an Iraqi who lives in the city of Dubai (United Arab Emirates)," the statement said.

It is specified that at that time the tanker was being loaded with contraband fuel from an Iranian vessel. According to initial estimates, there were at least 700 thousand liters of oil on board.

According to the Iranian agency, the tanker, along with nine crew members who are Indian citizens, was sent to Imam Khomeini Port, located in southwestern Iran in Khuzestan province.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on July 22, the Iranian military intercepted a tanker of a UAE company in the Persian Gulf. According to information from the British company Ambrey, which specializes in maritime security, the detained vessel was a tanker sailing under the flag of Togo, which was carrying 1.5 thousand tons of marine fuel (gas oil).

In January, Iranian media reported that the Iranian navy had seized a US oil tanker chartered by the Turkish company Tupras in the Gulf of Oman following a court order.
The Times of Israel adds:
Fuel prices in Iran are among the lowest globally, increasing the profitability of smuggling operations.

#4  Thanks for catching that, Grom — I’m clearly more tired than I realized. I meant Hezbollah, of course.

I wonder who is telling Hamas things that haven’t helped them avoid getting killed…

Is he Lebanese?
