Pakistain (TTP) have made some startling revelations.

These suspects had been arrested on receiving a tip. They revealed major information about the modus operandi of collecting extortion.

The arrested suspects were providing assistance to the TTP for many years by collecting extortion on the group’s behalf. They allegedly also confirmed the presence of TTP commanders in Afghanistan.

One of the arrested suspects allegedly revealed that Abdul Raziq, a TTP commander in Afghanistan, used to issue them instructions through WhatsApp.

The TTP commander would ask for photos and videos of people's houses and shops and make extortion calls to them from Afghanistan, a suspect claimed.

In case of non-payment, the TTP commander used to threaten to kill or abduct the victims, he added.

The law enforcement agencies are taking vigorous measures to protect the public. The security forces are achieving considerable success in crackdowns on the extortionist mafia.

Taliban Control Key Dam in Kandahar, Farmers Plead for Water
2021-06-03
[ToloNews] Dahla Dam, a main irrigation source for surrounding areas in Kandahar, continues to remain under Taliban
...Arabic for students...
control for the past month.

The Dahla Dam is one of the main water sources providing water to agricultural land in seven districts in the province. But the Taliban's control of the dam has deprived farmers of irrigation water.

Farmers in Kandahar said their gardens and agricultural lands will be devastated if swift action is not taken to continue the flow of water.

The Taliban said that irrigation experts are allowed to come and regulate the water distribution from the dam to the farmers' fields. But the Afghan government has said that it plans to launch an operation to clear the area from Taliban control.

Lands in Arghandab, Shah Wali Kot, Zhari, Maiwand, Panjwayi, Daman and Dand districts are dependent on the water that flows from the Dahla Dam.

"Water is the blessing of God and we are Moslems, why is the government closing the dam, why are they destroying the country?" asked Hairan, a farmer in Kandahar.

"It is now the season of growth of pomegranates, if water does not come, they will be affected," said Kandahar farmer Abdul Raziq.

"The operation moves forward in a good way, our forces will soon get their objectives," said Ghorzang Afridi, the head of the security department at Kandahar police headquarters.

"It's natural for the enemy to destroy the things that are in the interest of the people, but our security forces are defending them with full dignity and courage," said Abdul Matin Hussainkhel, the commander of 205 Shaheen Army Corps.

Ismail Khan Calls Jamiat Party's Congress, Election 'Fake'
2021-03-23
[ToloNews] Mohammad Ismail Khan, a senior member of Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
party and a former mujahedeen leader, on Monday said the party congress that was held last week was "fake" and that the leaders of Jamaat who attended the event thought it was aimed at building a consensus among political parties around peace.

The meeting was held by one faction of the Jamaat party, which is led by Ata Mohammad Noor.

Khan said that regarding the recent rift between Salauddin Rabani and Ata Mohammad Noor, he supports neither of them and he warned against division within the party.

"When we went to the meeting, during that meeting, its direction changed and they mentioned the party congress. I tried very hard to prevent this and told them that no standard has been met for a party congress," he said.

"We should make a logical decision for the upcoming The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
conference so that we hopefully mobilize Jamaat members’ views on major decision-making," Khan said.

The Jamaat-e-Islami faction led by Noor did not comment on the claims, but the mobilization council of the party said that they are working on a mechanism to overcome the rift.

"If they do not come together in a structured way, they should at least have some representatives so that one voice is heard from this big identity that has always fought for values," said Abdul Rahim, the head of the council.

Salahuddin Rabbani, the acting head of the rival Jamaat-e-Islami faction, has said that he will not allow Jamaat’s voice to be silenced in the upcoming Istanbul conference on Afghan peace.

"We will not allow the disgraceful experience of the Bonn conference to be imposed on our people once again and we should not stay calm about such a situation," Rabbani said.

The rift between Noor and Rabbani over the leadership of the party began eight months ago. In a controversial congress meeting of the party last week, Noor was elected head of the party.

2020-12-29
[ToloNews] Local officials in Kandahar said that festivities have been ongoing in six districts over the last three months, leaving "thousands" of families displaced.

Officials said major changes have been made in the leadership of the army and police in the province, but the security situation has not improved.

"Kandahar is on the verge of collapse. There is corruption in Kandahar," said Gul Ahmad Kamin, an MP.

Arghandab, Zherai, Argistan, Panjwai, Maiwand and Shah Wali Kot were secure districts but are now battlegrounds with heavy fighting between government forces and the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
, local officials said.

"Some officials and politicians contacted district officials, made phone calls and troops left certain areas, and, in some parts, they have made some compromises," said Hashim Alokozai, a senator.

The government appointed Gen. Shafiqullah Rasulzai as the new commander of the Atal Army Corps and Farid Mashal, a close aide to former police chief Gen. Abdul Raziq, as security officer of the provincial police headquarters.

"More changes will also be brought to the security ranks in Kandahar so that we have a security leadership that will continue to do the job responsibly," said Hayatullah Hayat, Kandahar's governor. "There are three reasons behind the lack of progress in areas that have fallen to the Taliban."

"Hundreds of Taliban members, including key members, have been killed. Also, wide areas have been cleared of the Taliban in these districts," said Fawad Aman, a front man for Defense Ministry.

Local officials said the festivities have displaced at least 6,000 families.

"We have not received specific help. We have received some food," said Abdul Qayum, a member of a displaced family.

"There are 6,050 families that have been displaced to the city of Kandahar. They are registered in the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation and have been introduced to non-government organizations," said Dost Mohammad Nayab, head of the refugees and repatriation directorate in the province.

Return of Taliban Emirate Unacceptable to Afghans: Abdullah
2020-10-17
[ToloNews] Abdullah Abdullah
...the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against both Karzai and Ghani. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun. He also held the meaningless salaried sop position as CEO of Afghanistan, while Ghani was president...
, head of the High Council for National Reconciliation, on Friday said that a return of the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
’s emirate is unacceptable to Afghans under any circumstances as it will continue the war in Afghanistan.

Abdullah made the remarks at a ceremony on the second anniversary of former Kandahar police chief Gen. Abdul Raziq’s death where other dignitaries and politicians including First Vice President Amrullah Saleh, National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib and Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. chief Salahuddin Rabbani also attended.

Abdullah stressed the need for unity among Afghans and said violence will not lead the country to peace.

"If there is a thought to reimpose the Taliban emirate on the people after the withdrawal of the international forces, it will not be acceptable for the people of Afghanistan under any circumstances," Abdullah said.

Condemning recent increase in violence, Abdullah said that peace will not be achieved by increasing violence and targeting ordinary people, religious scholars, political figures and journalists to reduce people’s morale.

He said that other countries are supporting the Afghan government efforts for peace and that they have already announced their stance on ceasefire in Afghanistan.

He said that it will be a wrong calculation if the Taliban thinks that they will have a better position by keeping pressure on a district or a province. This, Abdullah said, has prevented the people from achieving peace over the last years.

"No side should think that they will achieve their goals by killing and bloodshed," he said, adding that there is a need to continue the grinding of the peace processor with confidence and patience.

He also stressed that the people’s dignity, identity and pride will not be undermined when it comes to peace in the country.

Abdullah said that Afghans will defend the country’s dignity and illusory sovereignty if "ultimately the Taliban accepts no logic way for peace."

Violence was expected to reduce with the start of peace negotiations in Doha a month ago, but it has increased unexpectedly over the last few weeks. The Taliban attacked many parts of Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
a week ago, leaving thousands of families displaced.
