#2 Sounds like the good old days, back in the army. If you had twenty vehicles or whatever, and fifteen of them weren't usable because of missing parts or whatever, you were still considered good to go if the parts were on order.

That's so funny because it's true!
More than once I helped salvage parts from working vehicles to repair parade vehicles.
