#3 Throughout their history, Russians have always screwed around in combat. Tales abound in WWII about Soviet riflemen losing their fighting spirit after capturing a cache of vodka, or the failures of their NCOs and officers to keep their rowdy charges from stripping the dead of food and booze.

It's how they operate.
