#1 ...You know, I wonder if some techie isn't working on a cell phone operated kill switch that can be fairly quickly bolted on to the car. You get carjacked or it gets stolen, dial the number, enter your pin, and it bricks the car.

One option similar to yours is called 'LoJack' and has been around for years.
