#1 Hurray for the military industrial complex! This war is the best thing that ever happened to them.

Just think, what if they had influence inside the us government? They could start wars for their own profit! Sadly just a crazy conspiracy theory though.

#2 The Widows and Orphans Ammunition Fund may be able to help.

#3 Atlantic columnist Kori Sheik wrote that in the event of a large-scale war, the United States would run out of ammunition in a few weeks, and would have enough weapons for less than seven days.

Unfortunately, this isn't too far off. Towards the end of the cold war, we could probably have made it thirty days, and then the cupboards would have been bare. Now....7-10 days for PGMs, maybe enough straight ammo for three weeks. Then we're done.

#5 Whose army is gonna march across the Atlantic or Pacific? AFAIK, the US Army hasn't released the size of its artillery stockpile. The only number I saw (can't vouch for accuracy) was 7.5 million cluster shells. 5.5 million for the US and 2 million held in reserve for allies. Then there the stockpiles of the US Air Force, Navy and Marines.

#6 I read that Russian production of artillery shells is in the 50-60,000/month range. Opening new factories requires imported machinery that can be embargoed/intercepted.
