Plane allegedly carrying Wagner chief Prigozhin crashes after mutiny against Putin

A business jet en route from Moscow to St. Petersburg crashed today, killing all ten people on board, Russian emergency officials say. Mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was on the passenger list, officials say, but it isn’t immediately clear if he was on board.

Unconfirmed media reports say the jet belonged to Prigozhin, founder of the Wagner private military company.

Russia’s civilian aviation regulator, Rosaviatsia, says Prigozhin was on the passenger list. However, it’s not immediately clear if he had boarded the flight.

Note the caveats. The 48 Hour Rule holds true.

#32 Your #26 looks like a fairly normal martial arts display, Enver Dingle4916, of the kind of thing done by the Tae Kwan Do school Mr. Wife and the trailing daughters went to until the girls left home for their own lives, and Mr, Wife had one too many surgeries to repair wear on rotator cuffs, spine, and knees — only it must be said that that the Tae Kwan Do school concentrated more on precision and power rather than surviving on the battlefield...

My question, though, is what was the purpose of the smoke in this situation? I found it kept me from seeing details of the exercise that looked interesting, which I’m sure was not the intent.

#34 TW. My assessment is that this is a partial display of military training for Russia's youth for family and friends in the observing crowd. Patrial in that it does not involve weapons, strictly hand to hand combat. But training not neat as lethal to Krav Maga in the West. Therefore, mildly comparable to the ROTC, high school chapters. The smoke canisters emulate battlefield conditions.

Interestingly the units from Russia that pushed Ukraine back was Wagner. Regular Russian units are not doing so well. So all of the huff and puff got a reality check in Ukraine, and that check was not good.

#38 To piggyback on to what Enver Dingle4916 said, yeah training is just that. Training. You see how things work in the real world when you do it a often it kicks you in the ass.

I was trained by people that actually used this in the real world and the black belts that "trained" in it that I saw later were shit. There is a documentary where an actual trainer of the Devil's Brigade (which he learned from the Hong Kong Police that fought the gangs) completely dismantled the "trained" special forces guys proves that knowledge and tactics win. Every time.

That video was propaganda. Pure and simple. Looked cool, but they would die quickly on the streets.
