The warning signs are always there, even at the beginning. Over a period of years, sometimes decades, a tiny trickle of warning signs turns into a steady stream… and eventually a great flood.

Future innocents will curse our sloth in preserving the greatest nation in history, and the pale carcass we left them. Like many of my generation, I looked outward for the threat, and failed to see it was inside the wire for decades.
