#1 yes claiming you will resist aggression is vile provocation to would be aggressors, the poor dears. The trouble is that nobody but would be aggressors likes that idea unless they wish to become slaves themselves, which they mostly do not want to do.

Poor Putin believes probably correctly that Russians in former states of the USSR are in danger, but not from NATO or from the West. They are in danger from militant Moslem extremists in all the various 'stans' of Asia that were part of the USSR. If such haters gain power Russian Christians like Putin will be in grave danger in any one of them.
The USSR lost in its attack on Afghanistan in part because many and perhaps most of its soldiers from such parts were more loyal to their religion than to their own government.
Somehow one has to believe he is worse off in picking a fight with the West to deal with this problem than Hitler was in attacking the degenerate West when really afraid of the USSR.
Unfortunately, we shall see how this works out with pro aggressors so well distributed among soo called Demorcrats in this country, especially at the top of our government.

#3 This article is Russian agit prop by the Russian agent, Badanov. They have agents all over Europe and North America preaching pro Russian, anti USA propaganda daily, Badanov is paid to do this by Putin.
It has been very successful, they came within a hair of being the government of Austria for example, same with Bulgaria.

Now the Russian attack on Ukraine has exposed all this and it's past time we free people stop letting evil, hateful murderous bastards like Badanov have access to our systems.

Maybe Badanov can detail all the brutality of the Russian Army towards their own soldiers and toward their neighbors next? It would take him a decade.

Rantburg has a long, long history of contributors providing examples of opinionated primary sources material from foreign outlets. There has been 'agitprop' from North Korea, Iran, Pakistan and even from countries that are nominally US allies. All to give a picture of what is passing for journalism in foreign countries.
