] Quoting a statement issued by PRO (Defence) Jammu, news agency GNS reported that the slain was identified as Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Muneser Hussain.

"The killed (militant) has been identified on the basis of Police records as Muneser Hussain son of Sattar Mohammad of Bagyladra Poonch,"Lt Col Suneel Bartwal said, in the statement.

In 1993, he said, Hussain went to PoK, came back in 1996 and again returned to PoK in 1998."He has criminal masterminded [a] number of attacks on SFs [security forces]. As per police records, his family of two wives and children are residents of Surankote, Poonch."

, he said.

"Recently high-level meeting of HM group took place in Islamabad which he attended. Agenda of meeting was revival of HM in Rajouri Poonch," he said, adding, "From this we can make out that Muneer Hussain along with his body guard was sent with the agenda of reviving HM in Rajouri Poonch / South of Pir-Panjal (SPPR)."

The PRO said that Hussain was given a larger leadership role of "Tanzeems and told to revive terrorism South of Pir Panjal"

Hussain, he said, was the senior most leader of HM. "He is the most dreaded (militant) killed in the last 10 years in Rajouri/Poonch."

He said it was evident that Pak is trying to send old krazed killer "veterans" to JK to motivate and recruit youth thus making "desperate attempts to revive" militancy.

NIA Court Convicts One More In Assam Hizbul Mujahideen Case
2023-05-26
[OneIndia] A special court of the National Investigation Agency has convicted another accused in a conspiracy case related to the formation of a Hizbul Mujahideen
...Party of Holy Warriors, founded by Muhammad Ahsan Dar in September 1989. One of the Pak sock puppets waging jihad in Indian Kashmir. It was originally organized as the armed wing of Jamaat-e-Islami. In 1990, Dar declared Hizbul as the sword arm of Jamaat. Hizbul murdered many of the pro-independence intelligentsia in Kashmir. module case in Guwahati.

The court sentenced Mohammad Saiful Alam of Hojai district, Assam to five years in jail. He was awarded rigorous imprisonment and also slapped with a fine.

"Five people were chargesheeted by the NIA on March 11, 2019, and two of them, identified as Md. Sahnawaj Alom and Md. Omar Faruque was convicted by the NIA Court on December 23, 2022," an NIA release read.

The case was originally registered at the P.S. Jamunamukh, District Hojai, Assam under various sections of the IPC and UA(P) Act. The NIA re-registered the case on October 5 2018.

The probe by the NIA revealed that the three convicted accused had conspired with one Kamruj Zaman to establish a module of the Hizbul Mujahideen in Assam.

"During 2017-2018, they organised a series of meetings in various mosques, such as Milonpur Masjid, Islampur Masjid and Solmari Masjid, in and around the Jamunamukh area. The meetings were used to spread the banned outfit's hardcore fundamentalist ideology, with speeches about alleged atrocities and Jihad. Youth attending these meetings were told about the need to raise a module of HM for committing terrorist acts in response to the alleged atrocities etc," the NIA release also read.

The NIA also found that Kamruj and Shahnawaz conspired to raise funds for the procurement of arms and ammunition.

"Omar, alongwith another accused Jaynal Uddin, provided logistic support. To keep their communications a secret, Kamruj Zaman and Saiful Alam had also installed the Blackberry messenger (BBM) App on their mobile sets. Kamruj had used this app to stay in touch with Hizbul Mujahideen cadres in Jammu and Kashmir

," the NIA said.

These persons had also conspired to carry out kabooms and armed attacks on innocent civilians in the non-Moslem areas of Lumding and Hojai on Dussehra eve, the agency also said.

On Wednesday, the NIA attached the immovable properties of three accused in two different cases. The cases pertained to the Hizbul Mujahideen
...Party of Holy Warriors, founded by Muhammad Ahsan Dar in September 1989. In the first case, the NIA attached the immovable properties of Doulat Ali Mugal and Ishaq Pala, in Herman Shopian.

While Ishaq Pala, currently lodged in Central Jail Agra, was a terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) / al-Badr terrorist organization, Doulat Ali Mugal was an overground worker of the proscribed Hizbul Mujahideen. He is currently out on bail.

Pala while in Central Jail Srinagar, had conspired with his co-accused, including Riyaz Naikoo and Doulat Ali Mugal, and assisted Danish Ghulam Lone and Suhail Ahmad Bhat to cross the border from Kupwara Sector to join terror ranks and wage a war against the state. Accused Doulat Ali Mugal had provided logistic support to accused Danish Ghulam Lone and Suhail Ahmad Bhat at Kupwara when both were about to cross the Line of Control or LoC, the NIA said.

The properties attached on orders of NIA Special Court, include land measuring 5.5 Marla and 3.5 Marla under survey Nos.1597 Min and 1598 Min, including one double storey house of accused Doulat Ali Mugal located at Village Manigah Kupwara, and Immoveable property in the form of two rooms under the ownership of accused Ishaq Pala at village Allora, Tehsil Herman, Shopian, the NIA said.

The property seized, included six shops constructed on land measuring 5.5 Marlas under survey No. 2664 Min at Lethpora, Pulwama, belonging to the accused.

Fayaz was charged in 2018 for conspiring with other accused which led to the suicide kaboom on the CRPF group centre in Pulwama. He had carried out a recce of the CRPF centre and also provided logistic support to Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists, the NIA noted.

During the attack two faceless myrmidons Fardeen Ahmad Khandey and Manzoor Ahmad Baba, along with one Pak Abdul Shakoor were killed inside the CRPF camp, the NIA also said.

and is wanted in many terror related cases.

"The searches were conducted after Designated Special Judge Under NIA ACT, Kulgam issued a search warrant in case FIR No. 142/2019 of P/S Yaripora Kulgam," police said.

The case pertains to the killing of five non-local labourers at Katrosa Kulgam in 2019.
The mills of Justice grinding slowly... though to be fair, there was that whole changing of Kashmir’s status thingy that led to a police lockdown, followed by the Covid lockdown, which no doubt slowed the hunt considerably.
The SIU is investigating the case and has been conducting searches and investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice, said the police.

"The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday attached two properties of the sons of designated terrorist Syed Mohammed Yusuf Shah @ Syed Salahudeen, the self-styled Supreme Commander of Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen (HM) and Chairman of United Jihad Council (UJC)," said an NIA front man, in a statement.

He said the immovable properties of Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel, located in Kashmir — in Soibugh Tehsil, Distt. Budgam and Nursing Garh, Mohalla Ram Bagh, have been attached under section 33(1) of UA( P) Act.

Both Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel are lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since their arrest in October 2017 and August 2018. They were chargesheeted on 20th April 2018 and 20th November 2018, respectively. "The duo had been receiving funds from abroad from the associates of their father and overground workers of HM," read the statement.

"Syed Salahudeen, who had fled to Pakistain in 1993, was designated as an individual terrorist by India in October 2020. He continues to operate from Pakistain, from where he is guiding and instructing HUM cadres as well as self-proclaimed geniuss of UJC, also known as Muttahida Jihad Council (MJC) which is a conglomerate of around 13 Pakistain-based Kashmir centric terror outfits," said the statement.

"Besides instigating and operationalising murderous Moslem activities in India, primarily in Kashmir valley, Syed Salahudeen has been raising funds and routing finances to India through trade routes, Hawala channels, and international money transfer channels for furthering the terrorist activities of HM cadres."

"The NIA launched investigations in November 2011 into the criminal conspiracy to raise/collect/provide funds to commit terrorist acts and distribute funds among the terror groups and their sympathizers in Jammu and Kashmir for the purpose of committing terrorist acts. The Special Cell of Delhi Police had initially started the paperwork but haven't done much else in January 2011 and the case was subsequently taken over by NIA. Chargesheets as well as Supplementary Chargesheets were filed against eight accused in the case, including in 2011 and 2018."

"NIA has been cracking down on terror funding machinery in a bid to dismantle the terrorist financing ecosystem operating in Jammu and Kashmir with the help of individuals based in Pakistain and other countries. On Monday itself, the agency had also seized six shops in Awantipora in a case relating to a 2018 attack on CRPF Group Centre at Lethpora, J&K. Some land, including a house, belonging to the father of one of the accused was also attached in the same case in September 2020. In 2021, NIA had attached residential properties belonging to the kin of two accused in the case of the terrorist attack on CRPF Convoy at Lethpora, Pulwama. Another residential property has also been attached by NIA in the case relating to the killing of two brothers (Anil Parihar and Ajit Parihar)."
