Dacoits slay 'defiant' primary schoolteacher in Kandhkot-Kashmore's kacha area
2024-03-20
[GEO.TV] A primary schoolteacher was rubbed out by some bandidos in Sindh’s kacha areas (riverine belt) of Kandhkot-Kashmore, where the dacoits continue to reign despite several efforts aimed at eliminating them.

The teacher, Allah Rakhiyo Nandwani, was attacked on his way back home from a cluster primary school in Nasrullah Khan Bijarani, which is known as a no-go area due to the presence of dacoits, on Monday (March 18).

The dacoits reportedly stopped him as he rode his cycle of violence and fled after shooting him dead.

The gruesome incident comes days after a video of Nandwani going to the school went viral on social media. The short video clip showed the schoolteacher carrying a rifle for his safety while navigating from his residence to the school and back.

"I go to the school [to teach] for the sake of students’ future. Police and education department have been telling me that I can’t go there (no-go area), but doing this would harm the future of children. I am protecting myself," he said as he showed the gun he carried in the video.

Defiant of the bandit-rule, Nandwani vowed to attend his duties as schoolteacher regularly to serve the students.

In the video, the slain teacher's own son was seen sitting behind him on the cycle of violence, who apparently studies in the same school.

According to the local police, gunnies shot up Nandwani near Mandani check-post.

Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar took notice of the incident and sought a report from Larkana Deputy Inspector General of Police Nasir Aftab in two days.

With the latest incident, it seems like police are unable to control the situation as entire district Kashmore is reportedly been under the rule of dacoits.

It may be noted that the dacoits of kacha areas in Kandhkot-Kashmore have kidnapped over 400 people in the past one year.

Despite big claims and over 250 operations by the Sindh Police, the kacha area dacoits apparently have been operating freely.

The police reportedly do not have modern weapons and equipment, except for the armoured vehicles but even these vehicles cannot go deep into the kacha areas due to wild bushes and sand. The could only reach the areas housing elements facilitating the dacoits but not the areas where their hideouts are.

[Regnum] Israeli aircraft are carrying out retaliatory strikes on targets of the Lebanese group Hezbollah, the army press service reported.

“The army is currently striking targets of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in Lebanon,” the IDF said.

Earlier, the Israelis intercepted three suspicious air targets in the north of the country, two of them were shot down on the border with Lebanon.

As Regnum reported, on November 10, the Israeli military also attacked Hezbollah infrastructure in Lebanon. The IDF launched strikes using artillery and Iron Sting guided mortar shells. The targets of the Israeli Air Force were complexes and infrastructure, observation posts and technological equipment of the group.

The head of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrullah, in an address to supporters on November 3, warned Israel of the real threat of a major war. He pointed out that Hezbollah's actions forced the IDF to pull a third of its forces to the Lebanese border. He said Tel Aviv must take into account the threat of a large-scale war between the Lebanese Hezbollah party and Israel, Nasrullah said.

Reuters: A new powerful Hezbollah missile attack on Israel
2023-11-05
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] On November 4, militants from the Lebanese Hezbollah party attacked Israel with a powerful new missile that had never been used before, Reuters reported , citing a source.

“The group fired a powerful rocket, not yet used in combat, claiming that it hit an Israeli position across the border from the villages of Aita al-Shaab and Rmeish ,” the report said.

The publication also reported that Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) aircraft carried out strikes on Libyan territory. Residents of southern Lebanon called the attacks some of the harshest since the conflict began to escalate on October 7.

Hezbollah continues to shell Israeli territory. Party Secretary General Hassan Nasrullah on November 3, during Friday prayers, announced a real threat of a large-scale war with Israel. He also emphasized that Lebanese militants, by their actions, are constraining the capabilities of the IDF in the Gaza Strip, as they are forcing Israel to keep a third of its army on the border in Lebanon.

On October 31, journalists from The New York Times suggested that Hezbollah would begin a full-fledged war with the IDF only when Hamas was defeated. The Libyan group will have to intervene in this case, since it will not be able to remain on the sidelines, otherwise it will lose its reputation as a vanguard force in the Middle East, the publication noted.

Nasrallah's speech had been widely anticipated throughout the region as a sign of whether the Israel-Hamas conflict would spiral into a regional war.

Hezbollah leader calls speed of US support a sign of Israeli weakness

Schoolteacher Slain by Nomads in Panjshir Province
2023-09-10
[8am] Local sources in Panjshir province have reported the murder of a schoolteacher by a nomadic primitive armed with a firearm.

According to reports obtained by Hasht-e Subh, this incident occurred unexpectedly on Friday, September 8th, in the Ab-Goman area of Parian district in Panjshir province.

The victim, identified as Dadullah, was not only a dedicated schoolteacher but also worked as a taxi driver alongside his teaching duties.

Sources have indicated that two nomadic individuals, apparently hiring Dadullah’s vehicle, lured him into their company and subsequently ambushed him on the road.

However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
local Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
officials in Panjshir claim that this murder stemmed from prior hostilities and enmities.

Mawlana Nasrullah Malikzada, the head of the Taliban’s information and culture department in Panjshir, revealed that about 15 years ago, Dadullah’s uncle had killed a close associate of these two nomads in the same district.

Malikzada further added that one of the suspects in the murder has been detained by the Taliban, while another managed to escape.

It is worth noting that since the resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan, nomadic communities have occasionally engaged in retaliatory actions against the country’s citizens with the support of the group’s fighters.

Internal Taliban Clash Erupts in Takhar Province; Two Fighters Killed
2023-09-08

Local sources in Takhar Province have reported a fatal clash resulting in the deaths of two Taliban
...Arabic for students...
fighters, with another maimed. This incident sheds light on simmering internal tensions within the group.

The clash occurred on Thursday night, August 31st, within the confines of Qarildi village, situated in the Khaja Bahauddin district. It was rooted in disputes between two separate factions within the Taliban.

This violent mostly peaceful episode comes in the wake of a recent attack by Taliban fighters of Pashtun ethnicity on the residence of Nasrullah, a member of the Tajik ethnic group. Nasrullah served as the bodyguard of Qari Tayeb, the deputy leader of the Taliban’s army corps in Kabul. This attack took place within the same Qarildi village.

The skirmish resulted in the loss of two lives from opposing sides within the Taliban factions.

Sources suggest that the conflict was exacerbated by the recent return of Qari Tayeb’s bodyguard to his hometown after several months of absence, seemingly triggering the eruption of hostilities.

The sources have pointed to internal and personal disputes as the underlying catalyst for this event.

In a separate but related development, just a few days earlier, an internal clash between two Taliban factions in the Farkhar district of Takhar Province claimed the life of one Taliban member, leaving five others maimed, all hailing from Kandahar.

Women Banned From Visiting Band-e-Amir National Park
2023-08-27
[ToloNews] Mohammad Khaled Hanafi, the acting Minister of Virtue and Vice, asked all religious holy mans and security agencies to forbid women from visiting Amir Band National Park at a meeting in Bamiyan
...a place in Afghanistan that used to have some historically interesting statues of the Buddha carved into a mountainside. Then the holy men showed up and now all they have is some big holes...
Hanafi said that the decision was taken because of women's non-observance of hijab and added that women should be prevented from entering this park until a procedure is prepared.

The acting Minister of Virtue and Vice stated that going on a trip is not obligatory.

"Women and our sisters cannot go to Band-e-Amir until we agree on a principle. The security agencies, elders and the inspectors should take action in this regard. Going for sightseeing is not obligatory," Hanafi said.

However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
religious holy mans in Bamiyan said that these women come to the park from outside Bamyian, and the government itself should do something about it.

"There are complaints about the lack of hijab or bad hijab, these are not Bamiyan residents. They come here from other places, from other provinces or outside of Afghanistan," said Sayed Nasrullah Waezi, head of the Bamiyan Shia Ulema Council.

"There are dozens like this in every province, which is why problems have arisen, the enemy of Islam has gained courage and is finally pointing to Mullah,(?)" said Mohammad Asif Burhan, a religious holy man in Bamiyan.

Band-e-Amir National Park is one of the tourist spots in Bamyian, which was introduced as the first national park in the country in 2009, and since then it attracts thousands of visitors each year.

  • DOHA MEETINGS – Afghanistan observers are closely watching for information concerning the US/Taliban talks that began in Qatar yesterday. Several insiders opined that the Taliban delegation would press for three priorities: 1) Recognition 2) Unfreezing funds in Switzerland 3) Lifting of the travel ban on its leaders. The US has made its position known and said that human/gender rights would be a focus as well as security. Few details from the talks have emerged but most are not expecting any significant breakthroughs.

  • KARZAI CONDEMNS RECENT PAKISTANI ARTILLERY STRIKES IN PAKTIKA – The artillery exchange that we reported on in the 25 July Evacuation Brief was confirmed by the former President’s office. The former President condemned the attack and called it an ‘invasion of Afghan soil’ in a strongly worded statement. According to sources, Pakistan had targeted a suspected TTP hideout and had received information from a Taliban source that a high-ranking TTP leader was meeting with other cell leaders to disburse funds and possibly plan operations. Both Islamabad and Kabul have kept quiet about the attacks and neither side has reported casualties resulting from the incident.

  • TALOQAN CHIEF OF POLICE DETAINED OVER RAPE CHARGES – The Taliban have reportedly arrested Mawlawi Nasrullah Huzaifa, the Chief of Police in Takhar’s capital after hearing allegations of rape by 2 women. Sources say Huzaifa was taken to Kandahar and that an investigation was underway.

  • US HEARINGS ON THE WITHDRAWAL DESCRIBE CHAOTIC ENVIRONMENT IN KABUL, LACK OF LEADERSHIP – The hearings held yesterday in Washington showcased testimony from senior leaders who were present during the operation that described a lack of planning and a lack of leadership that contributed to the chaos on the ground in Kabul in August 2021. The hearings clearly have a political agenda but provide those interested in what happened with insight into what was going on at the time.

A source in Kabul says a possible counter-ISIS operation is planned in or near Jalalabad and may have already taken place. Additional security personnel continue to man local checkpoints and patrols have increased in the major cities since Muharram began. At-risk Afghans should remain cognizant that these operations are ongoing and should try to avoid any concentration of Taliban security vehicles/personnel which could be indicative of an impending operation.

NIA conducts raids across 16 locations in J&K to crack down on newly-launched terror groups
2023-05-10
[GreaterKashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
] A week after similar state-wide searches, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out extensive searches in Jammu & Kashmir, in the premises of "cadres and hybrid Death Eaters and Overground Workers linked with the newly-formed offshoots and affiliates of several major banned Pak-backed terror outfits."

The raids, in the terror conspiracy case, were continuing till late in the evening. They were spread across locations in Anantnag, Srinagar, Budgam, Shopian, Kulgam and Baramulla districts of Kashmir, as well as in Poonch, Rajouri and Kishtwar districts of Jammu, said an NIA front man, in a statement.

The NIA has been investigating the activities of newly floated terrorist groups, such as "The Resistance® Front (TRF)", "United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (UL J&K)", "Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH)", "Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF)", Kashmir Tigers, PAAF and others. These outfits are affiliated to Laskhar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), al-Badr, al-Qaeda, etc., he said.

Tuesday’s raids, conducted at a total of 16 locations (12 in the Kashmir Valley and four in Jammu division), were part of NIA’s investigations into the activities of OGWs and cadres in support of these new terror outfits. "These cadres and workers have been found involved in collection and distribution of sticky bombs/magnetic bombs, IEDs, cash, drugs and small weapons, as well as in spreading activities relating to terror, violence and subversion in J&K. Investigations have further revealed that Pak-based operatives were using drones to deliver weapons, bombs, drugs etc. to their operatives and cadres in the Kashmir valley."

NIA had earlier, on 2nd May, conducted raids at 12 locations in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the seizure of incriminating material and digital devices, in the terror conspiracy case it had registered suo motu
...a legal term, from the Latin. Roughly translated it means I saw what you did, you bastard...
on 21st June 2022, added the front man.

"The case (RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU) related to the hatching of a conspiracy, both physical and cyber space, and plans by the proscribed terrorist organizations to unleash violent mostly peaceful terrorist attacks in J&K with sticky bombs, IEDs and small arms. The plans are part of a larger conspiracy by these terrorist outfits to commit acts of terror and violence, in association with local youth/overground workers, to disturb peace and communal disharmony in J&K."

Conspiracy case: NIA raids underway at 15 locations in J&K

[GreaterKashmir] Ahead of G-20 summit in Srinagar, the National Investigation Agency on Tuesday conducted raids at 15 locations in Jammu and Kashmir including summer capital Srinagar in a militancy conspiracy case registered by the national probing agency.

Quoting official sources, Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) reported that sleuths of NIA with the assistance of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF carried out raids at Srinagar, Shopian, Kulgam, Budgam, Baramulla, Anantnag, Poonch and Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. The searches are being carried out in the Pakistain backed terrorist conspiracy case registered by the national probing agency.

In Srinagar, NIA teams raided the joint residential house of Mohammad Ayoub Pakhtoon, Tariq Ahmad and Safin sons of Late Habibullah Pakhtoon at Kursoo Rajbagh near Jamia Masjid.

Similarly, another team raided the house of Mushtaq Ahmad Pinjoo son of Ghulam Rasool Pinjoo, a resident of Mustafa-Abad Zakoora.

  • POWER OUTAGES CONTINUE IN AFGHANISTAN – After Uzbekistan confirmed it had cut power exports to Afghanistan a diplomatic spat occurred when the Taliban Minister of Foreign Affairs took to social media and publicly blasted the Uzbek government. Officials from Uzbekistan responded yesterday and said it had warned the Afghan power authority that domestic needs could result in diminished power exports. It is not clear whether the Afghan power company officials informed the Taliban of this possibility or, whether the Taliban failed to disclose the information to the public. Regardless, the problem affects millions.

  • PAKISTAN’S POWER GRID GOES OFFLINE AS WELL – Pakistan lost power across large areas of the country for the second time in three months after a power-saving scheme to save power backfired. Electricity was shut off overnight to conserve fuel in an effort to save money but when engineers attempted to turn the power back on in the morning, the system suffered a catastrophic failure and will need to be rebooted. Government officials and those who are responsible for managing the grid were working to restore power and some cities had reported a resumption of service as of this morning. The outage also affected nationwide cellular service as thousands of mobile towers were forced offline. Internet services continued to function but many millions of cellular phone customers have been in a communications blackout state.

  • UNITED NATIONS ANNOUNCES $4.6 BILLION PLEDGED FOR AFGHANISTAN IN 2023 – Martin Griffiths, Under Secretary for Humanitarian Affairs, supposedly informed the Foreign Minister about the funding during a recent meeting. However, it is not clear how much of the funding will be allowed to be used in Afghanistan with the standoff over bans on women in different sectors of society. A source who was present for the meeting claimed the UN officials clearly were dangling a carrot for the Taliban with the announcement but that flew over the head of Muttaqi who was apparently giddy after the meeting. Several advisors reputedly had to explain that the funding was only pledged and was not likely to be disbursed unless the Taliban reversed several of its policies.

  • CLERIC MURDERED IN KAPISA – A second Salafi religious leader was murdered in Kohistan (Kapisa Province) on Sunday evening. Mawlawi Laeeq was set upon by unidentified gunmen and shot dead in Kish Katan village. In 2022, Mawlawi Nasrullah, another Salafi religious leader was murdered in a similar fashion. Unconfirmed reports have continued to mount of several Salafi followers ‘disappearing’ under mysterious circumstances since the Taliban came back to power.

Taliban reveal burial place of founder Mullah Omar, nine years after death
2022-11-07
[La Belle France24] The Taliban on Sunday revealed the final resting place of the movement's founder, Mullah Omar, whose death and burial they kept secret for years.

Rumours surrounding Omar's health and whereabouts abounded after the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
were kicked out of power in 2001 by a US-led invasion, and they only admitted in April 2015 that he had died two years earlier.

Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid told AFP Sunday that big shots of the movement attended a ceremony at his gravesite earlier in the day near Omarzo, in Suri district of Zabul province.

The Taliban returned to power in August last year, routing government forces as the US-led military that propped up the regime ended a 20-year occupation.

"Since a lot of enemies were around and the country was occupied, to avoid damage to the tomb it was kept secret," Mujahid said.

"Only the close family members were aware of the place," he added.

Pictures released by officials showed Taliban leaders gathered around a simple white brick tomb, covered with what appears to be gravel and enclosed in a green metal cage.

"Now the decision has been made... there are no issues for the people to visit the tomb," Mujahid said.

Omar, who was aged around 55 when he died, founded the Taliban in 1993 as an antidote to the internecine civil war that erupted following the decade-long Soviet occupation.

Under his leadership the Taliban introduced an extremely austere version of Islamic rule, barring women from public life and introducing harsh public punishments -- including executions and floggings.

MASSOUD TOMB REPORTED VANDALISED
Omar's ceremony comes a day after provincial Taliban officials denied reports that the Panjshir Valley tomb of resistance hero Ahmad Shah Massoud had been vandalised, an act Mujahid said would be "punished" if true.

Massoud has a mixed legacy in the country, where he is hailed by ordinary Afghans for leading the resistance against the Soviet occupation, but loathed by the Taliban he also fought until his 2001 liquidation by al-Qaeda.

His tomb is in an imposing granite and marble mausoleum overlooking the picturesque Panjshir Valley, and guarded by Taliban fighters since their takeover of the country in August last year.

Local residents said a newly arrived contingent of fighters smashed the tombstone, and video of the desecrated grave -- which could not be verified -- was published by local media and circulating widely on social channels.

"It happened when the new forces entered Panjshir. The new forces from Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
and Kandahar destroyed the tombstone of the national hero," one resident told AFP.

Nasrullah Malakzada, head of information and culture of Panjshir, province, denied the tomb had been damaged and issued a video purporting to show it intact.

The clip, however, pointedly did not display the entire structure -- particularly the part seen damaged in the original video.

Malakzada refused requests by journalists to visit or photograph the tomb for themselves.

Mujahid told news hounds that nobody had the right to insult the dead.

"Previously we had punished those who committed such acts," he said, adding "this will be investigated as well and necessary action will be taken"
