Mullah Omar not visited Pakistan over the past 25 years, claims Taliban
2016-12-29
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Taliban group founder and ex-supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar not visited Pakistain over the past 25 years, the Death Eater group claimed Wednesday.

The group released a statement to reject a report regarding a meeting between Mullah Omar
... a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality...
and a Norwegian diplomat in a luxury hotel in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistain.

"A western newspaper ’The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
’ published a report citing a Norwegian diplomat ‐ Alf Arne Ramslien ‐ who claimed initially talking twice on the phone??? with the late Amir ul Mumineen Mullah Muhammad Omar Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) and even meeting him at a later stage in Pakistain during the year 2009. This report has then gone on to write many fabrications under this title," the statement said.

The statement further added "We categorically reject this report from start to end. The late Amir ul Mumineen Mullah Muhammad Omar (may Allah have mercy on him) had not visited Pakistain over the past 25 years nor did he talk with anyone via telephone following the American invasion. And neither did he have the habit of meeting with diplomats especially with foreign diplomats during the time of occupation when he had millions of dollars of bounty on his head."

According to the group "It is plausible that this diplomat has made such assertions for his own fame or that he was duped by some individual."

This comes as Taliban’s top commander Mullah Mansoor Dadullah confirmed earlier in August last year that Mullah Omar did not die naturally but was assassinated, confirming the reports suggesting Mullah Omar was mysteriously killed in April 2013 in a hospital in Bloody Karachi

(NDS) earlier said Monday the Taliban supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar was mysteriously killed in a hospital in Karachi city of Pakistain.

Mullah Omar’s death was first confirmed by a splinter group of the Taliban ‐ Afghanistan Islamic Movement Fidai Mahaz, which claimed that he was assassinated Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansoor and Gull Agha.

The group’s front man Qari Hamza said last year Mullah Omar was killed two years ago in the month of July.

Breakaway Taliban faction names new leader in Afghanistan
2016-08-17
[AlAhram] A breakaway Taliban faction in Afghanistan has appointed a new leader for the group, the nephew of the faction's longtime leader who was killed in fighting with rivals last year.

The development reflects the complex layers of the insurgency in Afghanistan, where though dominant, the Taliban are not the only bully boy group waging war.

At a gathering Monday in southern Zabul province, Mullah Emdadullah Mansoor was named leader of the faction known as Mahaaz-e-Dadullah. The meeting was attended by tribal and religious leaders, as well as the group's local commanders.

News Agency that Dare Not be Named video of the gathering shows Mansoor accepting the leadership position among a crowd of gunnies, mostly young guards. He is the nephew of Mullah Mansoor Dadullah who was killed in Khak-e-Afghan district of Zabul last year, fighting with rival Taliban.

"I accept the leadership of these men, based on the decision of the holy mans," said Mansoor, promising to "fight foreign forces" and exact Dire Revenge for the group's slain leader.

Before Mullah Mansoor Dadullah was killed in Zabul, the founder of the group, Mullah Dadullah, was also killed in an ambush, possibly by one of his bodyguards in southern Helmand

province. He was also an uncle of the newly named leader.

At the Monday gathering, several gunnies in white-colored clothing with black balaclavas who call themselves jacket wallahs said they were ready to carry out attacks against the rival Taliban as well as foreign forces in the country.

"I announce that I will take ... Dire Revenge from Mullah Haibatullah's group," said Mansoor. And of his rivals, he said "it is time for them to pay the price."

Mansoor was referring to the current head of the rival Taliban, Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada
...Deputy to Taliban supremo Mullah Akhtar Mansour...
, a religious hard boy who replaced Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in May.

The Mahaaz-e-Dadullah group, known for its fighting skills and suicide kabooms, virtually disappeared from the Afghan killing fields after the death of Mansoor's uncles. Their re-emergence could create a headache for the Taliban as the faction is present in various parts of the Taliban heartland in the south.

"Now we are back on track with our mission" said Mullah Nematullah Samim, Mansoor's deputy.

Another would-be suicide bomber, Qari Misbah, said at Monday's gathering that he has been "waiting for my turn for a long time ago and now it's the time for me, I can give my body and soul."

Samim denied that Mahaaz-e-Dadullah has been uniting forces in Zabul with Afghanistan's branch of the Islamic State

Still No Confirmation On Reports Of Mullah Mansour's Death
2015-12-05
[Tolo News] Reports continue to circulate that Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Akhtar Mansour was killed during a Taliban faction clash on Wednesday in Quetta, Pakistain, but a front man for the group has denied these claims.

The front man also said that Mullah Mansour was not in Quetta at the time of the clash, but that he was in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
Political analysts believe however, that festivities between the Taliban and the breakaway group have reached a pinnacle.

Earlier reports circulated about the death of Mullah Mansoor Dadullah one of the splinter-Taliban group's deputies, and now reports of Mullah Mansour's death are doing the rounds.

"Many of Mullah Mohammad Rasoul Noorzai's branch have been killed. Those Taliban who separated from [Mullah Mansour's] Taliban are really worried and afraid because apparently the Taliban is not talking to them nor talking about negotiations, but in reality they are in search of them and waiting for an opportunity to target them," said Hassan Haqyar a former deputy minister during the Taliban regime.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
details are sketchy about the festivities between the two factions.

But Ghaleb Mujaheed, Achin district governor, in Nangarhar

, said: "Both of the Taliban [groups] are puppets of Pakistain. This is Pakistain that brings one group for us and then another group."

The reports of Mullah Mansour's apparent death have however come close on the heels of renewed efforts this past week by Kabul

and Islamabad to restart the stalled peace talks process with the Taliban.

However a number of Afghan analysts said they do not trust Pakistain's promises and said Pakistain is trying to make sure the Taliban is prepared for next year's fighting season.

of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) loyalists aiming to gain a foothold in Afghanistan have vowed to eliminate the Durand Line in a bid to unite and pave the way for the Moslems divided by the line.

A front man for the terror group's self-proclaimed Khurasan province said the Islamic State eye to destroy the borders similar as they did between Iraq and Syria.

The porous Durand Line has also been a source of tension between Afghanistan and Pakistain where numerous cross-border attacks have been carried out besides the bordering regions have long been and continues to be the main shelter of the terror groups.

In the meantime, affiliates of the terror group have doubled efforts to encourage the dissident high level Taliban capos to join the ISIS group in a bid to further gain foothold in the country.

The front man for the terror group said a delegation of prominent scholars have been sent by the group's Khurasan province chief to Uruzgan province to meet with the senior Taliban leader Mullah Mansoor Dadullah.

This comes as the group claimed yesterday that Mullah Dadullah was rescued from an offensive by the Talibs involving 2,100 fighters in southern Zabul province.

He said at least 230 ISIS fighters were deployed to Zabul from western Farah province to engage the Talibs and rescue Mullah Dadullah.

He also claimed that Mullah Abdul Manan, the brother of the Taliban founder Mullah Mohammad Omar, prefers to join the ISIS group rather than pledging allegiance to the newly appointed Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor.

Militants release video of former ISI officers
2010-04-20
ISLAMABAD: Videos of two former ISI officers, who went missing last month, were released by unknown militants in the tribal areas of Pakistan on Monday.

Col (retd) Amir Sultan, widely known as Col. Imam and Squadron Leader (retd) Khalid Khawaja went missing in the tribal areas last month while they were accompanying a journalist to assist him with a documentary on militants.

In the video, both hostages introduced themselves as former ISI officers. They claimed that they were visiting the tribal areas following an advice by former Army Chief General Aslam Baig and former DG ISI Lt.General Hamid Gul.

However, Khawaja also mentioned the name of a serving ISI official, Colonel Sajjad and said that he visited the area on his direction.

The militants have demanded the release of at least two arrested Taliban leaders in Pakistan's custody for the release of the two officers. The demand was made through an email which also contained the footage of the two officers.

The militants have threatened that if Mullah Kabir and Mullah Mansoor Dadullah were not released, the officers would be killed.

The unknown militants who sent their email late Sunday night also mentioned that they would issue another list of their demands soon.

Pakistan swapped top Taliban leaders for its ambassador
2008-05-29
Pakistan swapped two senior Taliban leaders for the release of its kidnapped envoy to Afghanistan, a media report said on Wednesday.
No! Reeeeally? Who'da thunkit?
"Despite the fact that the government authorities have repeatedly denied the release, both the militant leaders reached Afghanistan around two weeks back," the News said. Quoting sources, it said the two leaders, identified as Mullah Obaidullah Akhund and Mullah Mansoor Dadullah, were freed along with "hundreds" of other militants to secure the release of Pakistani envoy to Afghanistan Tariq Azizuddin.

An eminent jihadi leader from Afghanistan confirmed it, saying the two militant leaders had reached their homeland around two weeks back. "The release of both the Taliban commanders was part of a package deal between the Pakistani authorities and the Taliban under which 35 army personnel were also released besides Pakistani ambassador and his staff," the News quoted the jihadi leader, who was not identified, as saying.

Taliban militants had abducted Azizuddin three months ago while he was travelling in Pakistan's tribal areas in the country's north. He was released on May 15.

Taliban commander arrested, over 15 killed in Afghanistan
2008-04-07
Afghan police arrested a senior Taliban commander in southern Afghanistan, while more than 15 other insurgents were killed and several detained in separate Afghan- and internationally-run operations, officials said Sunday.

Taliban commander Mullah Abdul Jabar was arrested by police forces in southern Kandahar province on Saturday, the Interior Ministry said in statement. The statement described Jabar as deputy commander for Mullah Mansoor Dadullah, another senior Taliban commander, who was arrested by Pakistan forces in February this year while crossing the border from Afghanistan into Pakistan. Mansoor Dadullah succeeded his brother Mullah Dadullah, a feared Taliban commander who was killed in combat in southern Helmand province last year.

The Afghan army said Sunday its forces backed by NATO troops killed at least 15 suspected Taliban members in Zherai district of Kandahar province on Saturday during an operation that began in the area one week ago. 'Five terrorists were killed in Zareen Khail village of Zherai district, while 10 other terrorist were killed in Zafar Khail village of the district,' the defence ministry said.

Meanwhile, Afghan and coalition forces killed several suspected insurgents in eastern Nuristan province on Sunday, the US military said in a statement. The combined troops came under fire by a group of insurgents from several compounds in Kendal and Shok villages while the joint forces were conducting a cordon-and-search operation in the area, the statement said. The joint forces returned fire and called in air support to eliminate the insurgents' positions, it said, adding that several suspected insurgents arrested, while the combined forces discovered fully-loaded weapons and stores of ammunition.

Talibunnies 'Spring Offensive' Underway?
2008-04-06
KABUL (AFP) — US-led troops and Afghan security forces on Sunday killed a "significant" number of militants, the coalition said, a day after 15 Taliban were killed in attacks in the south. The coalition did not give an exact toll but a local MP said the battle in eastern Nuristan province, in which warplanes were also deployed, left 20 people dead including some civilians.

"The combined force repelled the attack with accurate small-arms fire and crew-served weapons. During the long battle, the insurgents reinforced their positions in several compounds with large groups of fighters," a statement by the US-led coalition said.
We were running low on targets so they graciously re-stocked.
It added that troops "inflicted significant insurgent losses" and that many rebels had been detained.

The statement said the fighters were members of Hizb-e-Islami, an outlawed militant group loyal to the former Afghan prime minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, who is said to have joined the Taliban.
Bringing all his ferocious war-fighting skillz with him, like how to throw a grenade ...
Earlier, the defence ministry said 15 Taliban insurgents were killed in separate raids by Afghan and NATO troops in the southern province of Kandahar on Saturday. The interior ministry meanwhile said a senior Taliban commander whom it described as a deputy to Taliban top military commander Mullah Mansoor Dadullah was captured in Kandahar city.
Don't these 'leaders' ever go down fighting?

Tribe given 48 hours to recover missing envoy
2008-02-25
Political authorities in Khyber Agency have set a deadline of February 26 for the Malik Din Khel tribe to recover the missing Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan, Tariq Azizudin, Dawn News TV channel reported on Sunday.

The channel quoted official sources as saying that they were under pressure to recover the ambassador, who was kidnapped around 14 days ago from the Ali Masjid area in Khyber Agency. The channel quoted the sources as saying that the ambassador had been seized from an area belonging to the Malik Din Khel tribe, while he was travelling to Afghanistan. It said elders of the tribe had convened a jirga tomorrow (Monday) to initiate measures to recover the missing envoy.

Local Taliban had earlier claimed responsibility for Azizuddin’s abduction saying, they would release him in return for Taliban commander Mullah Mansoor Dadullah.

16 terrorists held in Karachi, DIK
2008-02-16
Police arrested 10 pro-Taliban militants “planning terror attacks during the February 18 elections” in Karachi, as six would-be suicide bombers were also arrested from Dera Ismail Khan (DIK), officials said on Friday. “The [Karachi] militants were ex-members of different banned militant outfits who have now formed a new group,” Sindh Home Minister Akhtar Zamin told Reuters, referring to the newly-formed Tehreek Islami Lashkar-e-Muhammadi. He did not say when the 10 were detained. Police seized explosives, electrical circuits, compact discs and hit lists of high-profile people including politicians, international and national NGOs and police officials from the militants, Zamin said.

“They may have been planning to attack some political leader, carry out other acts of terrorism during the election and destabilise the peace of the country,” he said.

The militants had ties to top Taliban commander Mullah Mansoor Dadullah, who was arrested and injured near the border with Afghanistan earlier this week, Sindh police chief Azhar Farooqi told a press conference. He said the men were arrested as a result of investigations following a raid on a militant hideout in Karachi on January 29 that nabbed other key Al Qaeda militants.
