With truce talks stuck, Israel said planning Rafah incursion in April or May
2024-03-31
[IsraelTimes] Pro-Hezbollah newspaper says offensive will come after Ramadan and will last 4-8 weeks; Israel reportedly vows to notify Cairo in advance of an IDF operation into Philadelphi Route

, Israel is not willing to make any further concessions to Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede, and is gearing up for a ground operation in Rafah, a Lebanese newspaper reported Wednesday.

The pro-Hezbollah al-Akhbar daily, citing Egyptian sources who were said to have been in contact with Israel Defense Forces officials, reported that the expected offensive would come after Eid al-Fitr — the three-day holiday that follows Ramadan and ends around April 12 — or in early May at the latest.

Strip would last from four to eight weeks, the sources said, and would be accompanied by an evacuation of the civilian population sheltering in Rafah, which amounts to about 1.5 million people, toward the center of the Strip along specific routes and at specific times, announced to civilians in each area of the city in advance.

The mass evacuation would be monitored from the ground and the air to ensure that no Hamas fighters or Israeli hostages are hidden among the Gazook civilians, the Egyptian officials said.

Four Hamas battalions remain in Rafah, and it is believed that Hamas leadership and at least some of the hostages — 130 of those kidnapped on October 7 remain in Gaza, not all of them alive — are in the city bordering Egypt.

Cairo expressed its deep concerns over an IDF operation in the Rafah area, noting that it could lead to a further escalation not only in Gaza, but in the whole region, al-Akhbar reported.

Israel reportedly vowed to notify the Egyptians in advance of an IDF incursion into the Philadelphi corridor, which runs west of Rafah along the border between Gaza and Egypt.

The Lebanese paper also reported that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi refused a request by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a direct line to remain in contact.

Additionally, it claimed that negotiations are underway under the auspices of UAE mediation to bring medication to Israeli hostages in exchange for large amounts of medical aid to be allowed into the Strip.

on Wednesday, former Hamas politburo head Khaled Mashaal said that Israeli hostages will remain captive until Israel halts hostilities, withdraws its troops from Gaza, allows displaced civilians to return to their homes, and ends a blockade on the Strip, adding that the terror group will not budge but indicating it is continuing to negotiate with Israel.

Speaking at a women’s event in Jordan, Mashaal said that Hamas is waging a "negotiating battle that is no less fierce" than its armed fight to achieve a halt of the Israeli "aggression." He seemed to imply that the group is preparing for an intensification of Israeli operations at the end of Ramadan, saying there are "threats" looming at the end of the holy Moslem month.

Mashaal said Hamas will keep on fighting on the ground, and urges Moslems around the world to support the struggle so that "their blood will mix with the blood of the people of Paleostine." He also called for financial donations for the people of Gaza.

'Necessary step': Hamas on its Oct 7 attacks on Israel - the path to erasing the Zionist entity
2024-01-22
The word "demented" does spring to mind.
Are they not required by the hudna principle to attack the to-be-conquered unbelievers as soon as they’re able? They were able, so they jumped the Iranian gun, and are now paying the price. Just like last time.
[GEO.TV] The Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
bad boy group said Sunday its October 7 attack on Israel was a "necessary step" against Israeli occupation of the Paleostinian territories.

In its 16-page report, the Paleostinian resistance group said the attacks were "a necessary step and a normal response to confront all Israeli conspiracies against the Paleostinian people".

Urging an "immediate halt of the Israeli aggression on Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. , the crimes and ethnic cleansing committed against the entire Gaza population," the group has rejected any international and Israeli efforts to decide the territory's post-war future.

"We stress that the Paleostinian people have the capacity to decide their future and to arrange their internal affairs," the statement said, adding that "no party in the world" had the right to decide on their behalf.
The Times of Israel reports on more Hamas bluntness:
Senior Hamas official Khaled Mashaal addressed the impact of the October 7 onslaught on the Paleostinian people during an interview with a Kuwaiti podcaster earlier this month, saying that he believes it reignited "the dream and the hope of one state for Paleostinians from the River to the Sea and from the north to the south."

Mashaal rejected the notion of a future Paleostinian state existing within the framework of the two-state solution, saying that Hamas
...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
rejects the idea, "because it means we would get a promise for a Paleostinian state, yet would be required to recognize the legitimacy of the other state — the Zionist entity."

"This is unacceptable," he continued. "We demand to be liberated, to get rid of the occupation and to have our independent state. Israel is my enemy, it is not my concern."

The Hamas official explained that although the terror group’s official policy is to seek a singular Paleostinian state that would replace Israel inside of the borders established in 1948, it chooses to fall in line with other Paleostinian entities, including the Paleostinian Authority, in seeking a Paleostinian state within the 1967 borders — for the time being.

"We will not give up our right to Paleostine in its entirety," he said, "but in order to establish a common ground and a joint Paleostinian plan with the other Paleostinian forces, and in line with the Arab position, Hamas agreed to a completely independent state within the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, with the right of return [for refugees and their descendants] included, without recognizing the legitimacy of the Zionist entity."

This, he explained, would lay the groundwork for a future Paleostinian state established within the 1967 borders to then expand, "without relinquishing any of our rights or any part of our land."

"I believe that October 7 has enhanced this conviction, has narrowed the disagreements and has turned the idea of liberating Paleostine from the river to the sea into a realistic idea that has already begun," he added.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II: Palestinian refugees entering Jordan or Egypt is ‘red line’
2023-10-19
[IsraelTimes] Jordanian King Abdullah II says that neither his country nor Egypt will accept Paleostinian refugees, declaring it a "red line."

At a presser held after meeting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, Abdullah says that "some of the usual suspects are trying to create facts on the ground," according to Sky News Arabia.

"There will be no refugees in Jordan and no refugees in Egypt."

Abdullah references Israeli calls for Gazooks to evacuate toward the south of the Strip, near the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, ahead of an expected IDF ground offensive in the north.

Islamists Playing Israel's Political Game
2021-04-22
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Whenever Islamists make a rather controversial move in their political game of chess with Israel, ideological thumpers of the Paleostinian cause fall into a deafening silence.

Although they fuss over Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
hosting a concert or the opening a café, Islamists become oddly silent when leading Islamist figures warm up to Israel.

Islamists have especially kept quiet after Mansour Abbas, an Arab-Israeli politician who heads the Raam party— the political wing of the Southern Islamic Movement —voted against dissolving the Knesset and backed holding a new round of legislative elections.

Abbas’s move clearly signaled that Islamists now support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Knesset and that Raam could potentially lend him a helping hand in forming a new government.

More so, media reports have warned that Raam decamping the predominantly Arab Joint List party and announcing it was ready to cooperate with Netanyahu could ultimately shake the foundations of Arab political institutions in Israel.

Raam assisting Netanyahu at parliament brings up fundamental and ethical questions like: Where are the supporters of the Paleostinian cause? What positions are Islamists taking? And where did all the criticism go?

Some may argue that there is no harm in Paleostinians playing their political game both rationally and pragmatically.

Frankly, there is nothing damaging about Paleostinians adopting a "give and take" approach, one can even say that it is overdue. But this is about Islamists looking to outbid rational and moderate parties in the region, especially Saudi Arabia.

They have gone beyond the pale in committing forgery, creating crises and pretending to care.

Arab leftists that claim to be staunch supporters of the Paleostinian cause did nothing to stop Islamist movements, like the Moslem Brüderbund, from double dealing with Israel and the West. Today, hypocrisy falls short in describing the Brotherhood’s duplicity.

While they are quick to slam regional opponents for taking steps towards Israel, Islamists stumble when it comes to condemn Raam’s election moves.

Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister of Gaza after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
, Khaled Mashaal, and some Paleostinian Authority (PA) leaders who once fiercely attacked the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for normalizing ties with Israel did not do the same to Islamists moving closer to Netanyahu.

"We are acting according to the expectations of our people," said Abbas.

But what would happen if the PA or Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede, truly acted upon the hopes of Paleostinians everywhere?

What is certain is that the Paleostinians are tired of buying into slogans and internal divisions. They want to establish both a state and peace.

If there were free and fair elections, or a real vote, Paleostinians would strongly come out against all current leaders, regardless of orientation.

They would have collectively urged their leaders to work for releasing Marwan Barghouti as hard as Haniyeh mourned Qassem Soleimani
, whom he dubbed the "martyr of Jerusalem."

In short, Islamists need to quit raising the stakes.

Hamas said to meet with Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Tehran
2017-08-09
[IsraelTimes] A high-level delegation from the terror group is in Iran to open a ’new page’ with old ally

Senior members of the Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, terror group met on Monday in Iran with representatives of the powerful Iranian Revolutionary Guard, according to Arabic media reports.

A high-level Hamas delegation arrived in Tehran on Friday in order to attend the inauguration of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, and to "turn a new page in bilateral relations" between the two sides, according to a statement by Hamas.

This is the first Hamas visit to Iran since the group elected new leadership earlier in 2017. The rapprochement between Hamas and Iran is reportedly being facilitated by the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, which is supported by Tehran.

The delegation consisted of Hamas political bureau members Ezzat al-Resheq, Saleh Arouri, Zaher Jabarin, and Osama Hamdan.

During its stay in Iran, the group met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday, as well as a number of other senior Iranian officials.

The Pan-Arab daily As-Sharq al-Awsat, which is Saudi-influenced, reported that members of the Hamas delegation representing the terror group’s military wing also met with members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard ‐ (IRGC) -- a paramilitary force that answers directly to Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei -- and discussed "common issues."

Relations between Hamas and Iran soured after the Sunni Paleostinian group, whose ex-leader Khaled Mashaal was once based in Damascus, refused to back the non-Sunni axis led by Syrian president Bashir al-Assad in the ongoing civil war, which started in 2011. Iran is backing Assad in the war.

But, according to the report, Iran is keen to restore ties with Hamas after Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
was elected as head of Hamas’s political bureau and Yahya Sinwar as the group’s Gazoo chief. Both are considered to be more open to reconciliation with Iran than Mashaal was.

A-Sharq al-Awsat reported in May that Hamas and Iran conducted intensive talks in Leb, in which members of the Iranian revolutionary guard participated. According to the report, an agreement was struck between the two sides that would see diplomatic relations return to what they were prior to the outbreak of the Syrian civil war. The agreement was reportedly supported by commander of the IRGC’s al-Quds Brigades Qassam Soleimani, Haniyeh, and Sinwar.

Qatar said to order several Hamas terror chiefs to get out

[IsraelTimes] Coordinators of Islamist group’s activities in West Bank among those reportedly being booted, under pressure from the US and Soddy Arabia.

is expelling several senior Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", members from the Gulf kingdom, in response to outside pressure, a report said Saturday, in a major blow to the Gazoo-based terror group.

Qatar has been a major backer of Hamas, pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the Gazoo Strip and sheltering the group’s top leadership in recent years.

Hamas was recently informed of the decision by a representative of the Gulf kingdom, who gave Hamas a list of members who must leave Qatar’s capital of Doha, Hebrew media quoted a report from the Hezbollah affiliated al-Mayadeen television station as saying.

According to the report, those singled out are Hamas members tasked with coordinating with the terror group’s operatives in the West Bank, and the list of names reportedly came from interrogations of Paleostinian security prisoners by Israel.

The Qatari’s reportedly apologized for the move, but said it came as a result of "external pressures" on Doha.

It gave no details on where the outside pressure came from, but it comes just two weeks after US President Donald Trump

met with Moslem leaders in Saudi Arabia, calling on them to form a coalition against Islamist terrorism.

Israel’s Channel 10 TV on Saturday night quoted Paleostinian officials saying the pressure on Qatar to expel Hamas operatives came from Saudi Arabia and the United States. The sources added that the list of names was "only the beginning" and that further expulsions would follow.

In Trump’s speech he labelled Hamas as a terror group and bunched it with other terror organizations such as Hezbollah and the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
. While in Riyadh, Trump also met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Qatar has also been under fire in recent days from its Gulf neighbors for its closer ties with Iran and the Moslem Brüderbund.

Since Hamas wrested control of Gazoo from the Paleostinian Authority in a bloody coup in 2007, Qatar has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into the territory and backed Hamas diplomatically, sheltering its exiled former leader Khaled Mashaal. It was not clear Saturday if Mashaal was among those ordered to leave Qatar.

In 2012, its then-emir, Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, became the first head of state to visit Gazoo under Hamas rule, pledging to raise $400 million toward reconstruction.

Mashaal decamped to Doha from the group’s former headquarters in Damascus in 2012 over reported disagreements with the Syrian regime over its brutal crackdown on protesters and rebels in the Syrian civil war, who like Hamas are primarily Sunni Moslems.

In addition to Qatar, a number of Hamas operatives are also reported to live in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

, has completed the maximum two terms in office. He became the leader of Hamas in 2004 following the Israeli liquidations of Hamas founders Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi.

"The Hamas Shura Council on Saturday elected Ismail Haniyeh as head of the movement’s political bureau," the group’s official website announced.

Haniyeh is expected to remain in the Gazoo Strip, though this may make it harder for him to manage the group’s international ties abroad, as traveling in and out of the Strip is difficult.

Haniyeh had long been seen as the leading candidate, with others in the running including Mashaal deputy Moussa Abu Marzouk and senior figure Muhammas Nazal.

Hamas front man Fawzi Barhoum said the group hoped Haniyeh’s election "would see opening to the region."

The 54-year-old takes charge of Hamas as it seeks to ease its international isolation. On Monday the group issued a new program that accepts the notion of a Paleostinian state in territories captured by Israel in the Six Day War of 1967 while still calling for the destruction of Israel.

Haniyeh: From refugee camp to Hamas leader

[IsraelTimes] Though seen as a relatively pragmatic voice in the group, he remains wholly committed to terrorism and ’liberation’ of Israel.

Haniyeh’s modest home in the narrow alleys of Gazoo City’s Shati refugee camp next to the Mediterranean Sea is under constant guard.
Sure, it's modest above ground. But it is the sprawling, luxurious tunnel complex underneath, never shown to international journalists, that really matters.
Also known as Abu Abed, he was born in the same camp in 1963 to parents who fled when Israel was created in 1948. They had previously lived in Ashkelon, in southern Israel near the border with the Gazoo Strip.

In other words, he is steeped in indoctrination and doublespeak, with no leavening of reality.

He first rose to prominence as bureau chief under Hamas’s spiritual father Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the holy man who advocated suicide kabooms against Israel and who was assassinated by Israel in 2004.

Haniyeh escaped liquidation in September 2003 when an Israeli aircraft bombed a house where he and Yassin were meeting.

In 2006 he led Hamas to a shock legislative election victory over Abbas’s Fatah and became prime minister. The international community however refused to deal with any government in which Hamas participated until it renounced violence and recognized Israel and past peace agreements, which it has never done.

The resulting deadlock led to mounting friction between Hamas and Fatah which culminated in Hamas’s seizure of Gazoo in 2007.

Egypt opens Rafah crossing for three days to students, humanitarian cases
2017-02-12
[AlAhram] Egyptian authorities opened the Rafah border crossing with Gazoo Strip on Saturday for three days to allow the passage of students and elderly in need for treatment, Paleostinain news agency WAFA reported.

The crossing in northern Sinai is the only way for 1.8 million Paleostinians living in Israeli-besieged Gazoo to enter and exit the strip.

Since October 2014, the crossing has been more or less closed by Egyptian authorities due to security concerns.

Cairo periodically opens the border to allow civilians with foreign passports, Paleostinian students, and those with medical needs to travel back and forth.

The crossing was last opened temporarily in late January.
It is now almost mid-February, so it's been closed about three weeks. Golly.
The Times of Israel explains:
The Rafah crossing between Egypt and the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",-run Gazoo Strip reopened Saturday, reflecting the improved ties between Cairo and the Islamist terror organization. Since the beginning of the year, the crossing has opened with a much greater frequency following talks between Cairo and Hamas to resolve long-simmering tensions.

led a delegation to Cairo, the first visit by the group’s top leader in over three years. The visit represents a desire by both sides to rebuild trust after tension since the 2013 military ouster of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, who hails from the Moslem Brüderbund group, Hamas’s mother movement. Authorities accused the group of supporting hard boyz to carry out attacks in Egypt.

In recent weeks, Cairo has increased the number of people allowed to exit through the Rafah Border Crossing, Gazoo’s main gateway to the outside world. It also has begun to allow Gazoo to import commercial goods through Rafah for the first time since 2013, and sent public signals that it is interested in improving relations.
