According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, the terrorist top commander was killed on Monday when the army cleared their enclaves of Shabaabul Umma, Garin Panel Beater and Lagara Anguwan Gwaigwai at the heart of the forest.

Zagazola added that the troops and the gunnies clashed in heavy shootouts which resulted in the death of several top Boko Haram commanders including Baga.

Several others escaped with gunshot wounds, according to the counter-terrorism expert.

Nigerian Schoolgirl, Leah Sharibu Married To Two Boko Haram Leaders, Now Has Two Kids

[SAHARAREPORTERS] Nigeria's forgotten schoolgirl from Yobe State, Leah Sharibu, has married at least two Boko Haram leaders including Ali Abdallah who has now become a chief judge of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in the Lake Chad basin, a "repentant" terrorist revealed on Tuesday.

Sharibu, a Christian girl, was one of the 110 female students of the Government Girls' Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, who were abducted on February 19, 2018, by the Boko Haram terrorists.

The "repentant" Boko Haram fighter told SaharaReporters on Tuesday that Sharibu's husband, Abdallah was recently appointed Chief Judge of the terror group in the Lake Chad basin.

“Leah was first married to Abdulrahman after she converted to Islam and they had one child, a baby boy. Her husband was killed in an air raid after which she remarried a top commander, Ali Abdallah to whom she bore a baby girl," the Boko Haram ex-fighter said.

Leah was delivered of the baby after her forceful marriage to a top Boko Haram commander, according to a reliable source close to the terror group.

The source said Leah, who refused to renounce her Christian faith, was forced to accept Islam before being married to a top commander of the terror group.

Also on March 23, 2021, SaharaReporters reported how three years and five weeks since her abduction in Dapchi, Yobe State, a United States-based group, US-Nigeria Law Group, lamented the plight of the abandoned Dapchi "heroine Christian" schoolgirl, Leah Sharibu, with a report she has given birth to a second child in captivity.

It would be recalled that Leah, still held in captivity, was forced to accept Islam before being married off to a top Boko Haram commander after she refused to renounce her Christian faith.

Speaking with SaharaReporters on Tuesday about the development around Sharibu in captivity, the repentant terrorist said, "Leah Sharibu was married off to Ali Abdallah, her second husband after her first husband, Abdulraman was killed in a military air raid.

Asked how he got the information, he said, "We still communicate with former compatriots who are still in the jungle; our aim is to help them abandon terrorism. You know, those of us who laid down arms did so after safety assurances from Nigerian authorities. Following the deal, we're now serving as agents to convince former compatriots to abandon the ideology.

"Like me, a good number of us abandoned the ideology after realising that we were actually on a wrong path; abducting and killing innocent people for no just course."

"I had to take the decision to quit terrorism despite formally serving as of of Abubakar Shekau's close aides before his demise. Yes, I was under Shekau's tutelage right from kindergarten in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital before relocating to Sambisa forest," he added.

SaharaReporters gathered that the troops were on fighting patrol around 10 am on Thursday when the vehicle drives over the planted IED.

One of the victims was identified as Ogbosomi; he reportedly joined the Army in 2020.

"Three of our men were killed after a roadside improvised bomb (IED) struck a convoy of troops during a fighting patrol.

"The incident happened around 10 am on Thursday. One of them is Ogbosomi and he joined the Army in 2020 which is 20NA. The other two remaining soldiers are of 21NA and 22NA as well," a military source told SaharaReporters.

According to Makama, the recent inter-rivalry clash occurred in Chillaria axis of Sambisa Forest.

He said ISWAP faceless myrmidons during the weekend ambushed a moving convoy of the Boko Haram elements which triggered a heavy shootout at about 4:30 pm and lasted almost 40 minutes.

"The ISWAP who had taken strategic positions totally routed Boko Haram fighters and killing unspecified numbers of them," the counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad said.

He added that one Hilux truck, several cycle of violences and weapons were seized by the ISWAP group from Boko Haram.

[SAHARAREPORTERS] The Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, has claimed that its fighters killed two soldiers during an attack on a military checkpoint in Buratai village, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

Buratai is the country home of a former Chief of Army Staff and Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Yusuf Buratai.

The community is situated some 215km from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

ISWAP in a statement sighted by SaharaReporters on Friday said two soldiers were killed while others were injured during an attack on a checkpoint in the community during the week.

The terrorist group also claimed responsibility for a September 17 bomb attack targeting a Nigerian army patrol on the road linking the towns of Damboa and Maiduguri, also in Borno State.

have attacked a convoy of four food trucks meant for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and resettled communities in Borno and intercepted four of them.

According to Daily Trust, the attack, which occurred Thursday night around Layi village in Mobbar Local Government Area of the state, came barely 48 hours after holy warriors launched a heavy attack on Kuje Medium Security Prison in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) freeing at least 69 Boko Haram suspects and hundreds of others.

The ISWAP on Wednesday grabbed credit for the attack.

Another source said with the commencement of the rainy season, Nigerian troops are constrained by environmental factors which is affecting their performance.

SaharaReporters gathered that the murderous Moslems invaded the town on Tuesday, shooting sporadically as residents of the community fled into the forest for safety.

Soldiers stationed at a military forward operation base (FOB) in Kada, just 2km away from Kautukari, were also dislodged by the Death Eaters.

"My community is under attack, this is the fourth attack this year alone, please pray for us," a resident told SaharaReporters.

In December 2021 and January 2022, Kautikari was experienced attacks by murderous Moslems who kidnapped many women and kiddies.

Also, a church in the community was razed by the murderous Moslems during the attacks.

Attacks in Chibok areas and particularly the recent one in January 2022 made the Borno State governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, visit the area to encourage the people as well as the security operatives stationed in the local government to remain strong.

West Africa Province (ISWAP) group have for more than a decade battled the Nigerian army in a conflict that has sucked in neighboring states.

Multinational Joint Task Force front man Colonel Muhammad Dole said troops had ventured deep into enclaves controlled by hard boyz in the Lake Chad area and recovered several weapons, food and illicit drugs.

"Within the period of this operation, well over a hundred faceless myrmidons have been neutralized, including over 10 top commanders ... following intelligence-driven lethal air strikes in the Lake Chad islands by the combined air task-forces," Dole said.

Dole did not give the period covered by the operation or number of troops killed but said 18 soldiers were maimed by improvised bombs planted by retreating Death Eaters.

The insurgency is concentrated in the northeast of Nigeria and has left thousands dead while driving millions from their homes into camps for internally displaced persons.

Nigeria received a boost after the United States last week approved a nearly $1 billion weapons sale. US politicians had put a hold on the deal over concerns about possible human rights

The latest incident sources said, happened when Boko Haram fighters laid an ambush for ISWAP fighters in the Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.

This was said to have led to a shootout between the two groups.

The Boko Haram fighters led by Mohammed Ari were said to have overpowered those of ISWAP, killing about 50 of them.

Their bodies were also shown in a trending video as they were being slaughtered and dumped inside makeshift graves around the Lake Chad axis.

Some ISWAP forces of Evil were also burnt inside their gun trucks.
