Migrant housing construction meeting sees Maine resident asking "am I too white ?"
2024-03-02
[MAIL] Residents of a Maine town have hit out at the $13million construction of a complex of 60 apartments for asylum seekers, where they can live rent free for two years then pay a fraction of the rental price.

Locals in Brunswick have expressed fury over the project, which is being funded by a mix of private and public money and which has been heavily criticized by Donald Trump Jr.

The apartment complex in Brunswick is one of the many projects being launched by the town in what critics have labeled a 'Taj Mahal', red-carpet welcome for asylum seekers.

There are currently 180 apartments in the Brunswick Landing complex available for anyone to rent. A one bedroom unit costs $1,800 a month, while a two-bedroom costs $2,300 a month.

The new buildings for asylum seekers will allow residents to live rent-free for up to two years while they obtain work permits.

Then, if they obtain a job that pays half of the average local salary of $60,000, they will only have to pay a third of the rental price. It boils down to a monthly cost of around $500 for a one bedroom, and $690 for a two bedroom.

’s two sons in Srinagar and Budgam districts.

"The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday attached two properties of the sons of designated terrorist Syed Mohammed Yusuf Shah @ Syed Salahudeen, the self-styled Supreme Commander of Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen (HM) and Chairman of United Jihad Council (UJC)," said an NIA front man, in a statement.

He said the immovable properties of Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel, located in Kashmir — in Soibugh Tehsil, Distt. Budgam and Nursing Garh, Mohalla Ram Bagh, have been attached under section 33(1) of UA( P) Act.

Both Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel are lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since their arrest in October 2017 and August 2018. They were chargesheeted on 20th April 2018 and 20th November 2018, respectively. "The duo had been receiving funds from abroad from the associates of their father and overground workers of HM," read the statement.

"Syed Salahudeen, who had fled to Pakistain in 1993, was designated as an individual terrorist by India in October 2020. He continues to operate from Pakistain, from where he is guiding and instructing HUM cadres as well as self-proclaimed geniuss of UJC, also known as Muttahida Jihad Council (MJC) which is a conglomerate of around 13 Pakistain-based Kashmir centric terror outfits," said the statement.

"Besides instigating and operationalising murderous Moslem activities in India, primarily in Kashmir valley, Syed Salahudeen has been raising funds and routing finances to India through trade routes, Hawala channels, and international money transfer channels for furthering the terrorist activities of HM cadres."

"The NIA launched investigations in November 2011 into the criminal conspiracy to raise/collect/provide funds to commit terrorist acts and distribute funds among the terror groups and their sympathizers in Jammu and Kashmir for the purpose of committing terrorist acts. The Special Cell of Delhi Police had initially started the paperwork but haven't done much else in January 2011 and the case was subsequently taken over by NIA. Chargesheets as well as Supplementary Chargesheets were filed against eight accused in the case, including in 2011 and 2018."

"NIA has been cracking down on terror funding machinery in a bid to dismantle the terrorist financing ecosystem operating in Jammu and Kashmir with the help of individuals based in Pakistain and other countries. On Monday itself, the agency had also seized six shops in Awantipora in a case relating to a 2018 attack on CRPF Group Centre at Lethpora, J&K. Some land, including a house, belonging to the father of one of the accused was also attached in the same case in September 2020. In 2021, NIA had attached residential properties belonging to the kin of two accused in the case of the terrorist attack on CRPF Convoy at Lethpora, Pulwama. Another residential property has also been attached by NIA in the case relating to the killing of two brothers (Anil Parihar and Ajit Parihar)."

J&K: More NGOs come under scanner as NIA gets cracking on terror funding
2022-03-28
[OneIndia] The National Investigation Agency on Sunday conducted a search at Sonwar Bagh in Srinagar in connection with the NGO terror funding case.

The NIA said that the case pertains to the transfer of funds by certain NGOs, Trusts, Societies and Organisations on behalf of separatist and terror organizations. The movie was to sustain secessionist and terror activities in Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". , the NIA also said. During the search at the premises of the suspect, the NIA recovered documents relating to financial transactions.

The developments comes a week after an NIA court ordered framing of charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against Lashkar-e-Tayiba chief, Hafiz Saeed

in connection with a terror funding case.

The NIA judge, Praveen Singh said that the above analysis reflects that the statements of witnesses and documentary evidence have connected almost all the accused with each other and to a common object of secession, to the commonality of means they were to use, their close association to terrorist/terrorist organizations under the guiding hand and funding of Pak establishment.

While all the above mentioned persons have played a huge role in furthering terror in Jammu and Kashmir, one of the most notorious among them is Yasin Malik. The several documents on Malik seen by OneIndia suggest that the cases against him are not ordinary in nature. They range from acts of terror, causing unrest and also murder of Indian Air Force officials.

Malik's name also cropped in terror funding cases since 1995. In 2019, the Centre had banned his outfit, the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF). Malik is also facing cases relating to the kidnapping of Rubaiya Saeed, daughter of then Union home minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, in 1989, and the killing of four IAF personnel in 1990.

An official tells OneIndia that some of the key findings in the probe on terror funding have been the route and source of the funds. Further it was also found that several separatists had routed funds for their personal use as well. It was also learnt that businessman Zahoor Ahamad Shah Watali is one of the main hawala conduit who used to generate and receive funds from Pakistain, ISI, UAE and had floated various shell companies to disguise foreign remittances for further transfer to separatist leaders and stone pelters in the valley. These funds were used to fuel unrest in the Kashmir valley and organise violent mostly peaceful agitations and anti-India activities which resulted in large scale violence leading to numerous injuries and deaths of civilians and security forces.

During his interrogation Malik told the NIA that Hurriyat Conference Gilani Group collected funds from business community as well as certain other sources and ensured that economic shut down and violent mostly peaceful protests continue to disrupt the daily life of common citizens in the valley.

Asiya Andrabi admitted that she had been collecting funds and donations from foreign sources and Duktaran-e-Milat had been organising protests by muslim women in the valley. Asiya Andrabi was confronted with evidence regarding funding of educational expenses of her son in Malaysia from 2011 onwards through foreign remittances made by Zahoor Watali.

Masarat Alam, the so called poster boy of stone pelters and violent mostly peaceful agitations in Kashmir valley, during his custodial interrogation, revealed that Pakistain based agents route the funds through hawala operators which were transferred to the separatist leaders including Syed Shah Gilani Chairman APHC(G).

After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....

...chairman of one of the two factions of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. JKLF is a Kashmiri nationalist organization founded in Birmingham, UK in 1977. Branches weren't actually established in Kashmir for another ten years. It has the usual demands for separation of J&K from secular India so it can become an independent Islamic rathole. It seems to have no interest in Pak Kashmir breaking away to join it. In 1994 Malik renounced violence after he was released from jail and from that point he and his organization pursued peaceful means to impose their will on the region...

. The case on hand relates to terror funding.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) started the paperwork but haven't done much else on May 30, 2017 against separatist and secessionist leaders, including unknown members of the Hurriyat Conference, who have been acting in connivance with active holy warriors of proscribed terrorist organizations Hizbul Mujahideen, Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
(LeT) and other outfits and gangs.

The case was registered for raising, receiving and collecting funds through various illegal means, including hawala transactions, for funding separatist and terrorist activities in J&K and for causing disruption in the Valley by way of pelting stones on the security forces, burning schools, damaging public property and waging war against India, the probe agency said in the FIR.

Hafiz Saeed, the Pakistain-based chief of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa
...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba...
, the front for the banned LeT, has also been named as an accused in the FIR.

Yasin Malik and ten others were chargesheeted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under the Terrorist and Disruptive Act. The CBI named Yasin Malik as the main accused in both these cases.

The JKLF is also responsible for illegal funnelling of funds for fomenting terrorism. The JKLF is actively involved in raising of funds and its distribution to Hurriyat cadres and stone-pelters to fuel unrest in Kashmir Valley as well as for subversive activities.

A total of 37 FIRs have been registered by the J&K Police against JKLF and two cases, including that of murder of IAF personnel, were registered by the CBI.

The organization was also involved in the kidnapping and killing of Ravindra Mhatre, an Indian diplomat posted the UK, in 1984. A week later, India executed Maqbool Bhat, a JKLF activist, who had been sentenced to death.

National Geographic has become too woke to be taken seriously
2022-02-20
[American Thinker] "The Science," which leftists always speak of as an oracle independent from petty human concerns, has spoken: Outside of well-fitted N95 masks, the cloth or loose-fitting paper masks that people have been wearing for almost two years do nothing to stop COVID’s spread. When it comes to kids, we also have some generally accepted science about COVID and masks—and none of it supports either COVID-panic or mask-wearing. Yet National Geographic, once a respectable magazine, insists that masks not only don’t harm children, but they’re actually beneficial.

My home in the 1960s and early 1970s was probably like most lower- and middle-class homes in America: We had a National Geographic subscription. The magazine, which was founded in 1888, brought the world into people’s homes. Suddenly, sitting in your living room or kitchen, you could see indigenous people in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Australia, as well as get a look at the folk cultures of Europe. It was a cruise around the world for the price of a magazine subscription. This picture, for example, shows that in 1921, ordinary people could see the Taj Mahal in color, which was very cool for that time:

That National Geographic no longer exists. In December 2016, right after Trump was elected president, National Geographic showed its woke credentials by doing a "gender" issue that featured, on the cover, a sad-looking little boy dressed up in girl’s clothes with his long hair dyed pink. This, we were told, was a "transgender girl."

But back to the magazine. The issue is behind a paywall so I won’t bother linking, but a HuffPost article excitedly reporting on National Geographic’s gender issue gives you a feel for what’s in it:
