Obama is never going away
2023-12-10
[American Thinker] I suspect that Barack Obama consciously chose not to allow the world to see his full communist, socialist, leftist leanings while he was still POTUS. And so I fear that many have become convinced that he is a real American.

That is the crux of the matter: don’t you ever wonder about anyone who is so totally dedicated to the destruction of America? And how many still consider him an American? A professional politician can be very good at being a politician while not being very good at being an American.

There are three things that motivate every professional politician: power, money, and sex, in no particular order. One or more is the prime motivator for every professional politician. Everything else that they can possibly want is connected to and dependent on those three.

Obama wanted at least one of those, probably even two. He wanted his legacy as the first black president to be clean for the history books in the future, not to be vilified as another Karl Marx. It would not be clean to go down in history as one of the greatest anti-America presidents in history. He knows that he is still young enough, charismatic enough, connected enough, and is becoming wealthy enough to get away with it.

Please do not give up on America. The forces of evil never give up on their assault. The defenders of American liberty should not give up, either. We may as well get used to that truth and never completely relax. If we relax, the attacks of the left will intensify even more.

Now does it all make more sense? You know, I’m thinking this could be the case with more professional politicians than just Mr. Obama.

[NY Post] Oooops. Forgot about consequences and karma being a bitch?
It was one of a number of anti-Israel protests she recently attended, as it’s apparently how she’s been killing time while she waits for her next role. Like Barack Obama at church, she somehow hadn’t noticed all the Jew-hate.

New York Housing Residents Miss Out on Thanksgiving Dinners After Illegal Aliens Get Them All
2023-11-25
[Breitbart] Residents of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) were shocked early this week when illegal aliens who got in line before they did for free Thanksgiving dinners given away by local food banks left many low-income citizens without a holiday meal this year.

Reports say that residents of the NYCHA were told when to line up for their turkey dinner and fixings delivery, but when they arrived at the appointed time, they found hundreds of illegals already at the head of the line, according to WNYW-TV.
Whaaa? They skipped "work"?
Queensbridge Housing resident Georgia Butler, for one, was disgusted after losing out to illegals at this year’s food bank give away and noted that illegals were first in line

“They was first on line for the turkeys this morning,” Butler told the station. “They tell you to be there at 11 o’clock. You get there at like 10:30, 10:45, but they are already out there. The line is from over there to over here.”

“Why do we have to take the brunt of everything?” Butler asked Fox 5. “This community is already suffering.”

Many low-income residents rely on the weekly mobile food banks, but they are increasingly finding slim pickings after the illegals run through the offerings.

New York City is only one portion of the Empire State finding its resources stretched to the breaking point.

A graphic assembled by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimated that there are more than one million illegals in the state, costing taxpayers $6,846 per illegal. The group also said that illegals cost the state $4.65 billion in education dollars and $1.75 billion in extra police and corrections budgets, not to mention more spending in health care and public assistance dollars.

“That amounts to a burden of $1,321 per New York household,” FAIR explained.

New York’s natural-born citizens are increasingly taking a back seat to the “sanctuary city” expenditures for illegals as more arrive every week. Indeed, Mayor Eric Adams just proposed a budget that cuts spending in many sectors of the city to funnel that money to feed, clothe, and give shelter, education, and health care to illegals as well as to help them work through the legal system to get work permits and find jobs.

One such cut in Adams’ latest budget is taking away $547 million from the education budget. The proposed education budget included cuts in the preschool program and next summer’s after-school programs, according to Chalkbeat New York.

The mayor also announced heavy cuts in the New York Police Department budget with a 13.5 percent cut in officers — a loss of one-fifth of the force — “by postponing the next five academy classes,” which will leave the force with fewer than 30,000 officers, down from 36,000, the Daily Mail reported.

Adams also announced cuts in the New York Public Library system.

In March it was reported that New Yorkers are on the hook to the tune of $5 million a day to house the influx of illegals. But by September, that estimate had soared to double that, reaching $10 million a day.

Susan Sarandon's son begs fans to stop sharing video 'with her honkers out'

[PAGESIX] Susan Sarandon’s son, Miles Robbins, is happy people are backing his mom after she was let go by her agent following a controversial speech about the Israel-Hamas

war.

He just wishes people would stop using a video of her with her breasts out to show their support.

"Ok I’m really grateful to see people on Twitter defending my mom amidst a new era of McCarthyist blacklisting but can you PLEASE stop using the clip of her getting her hair done with her honkers out," Robbins, 31, pleaded on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday.

The clip that fans have been sharing shows the Oscar-winning actress, 77, having her hair blown out while she’s wearing nothing but a barely-there robe and sheer bra.

[PAGESIX] Susan Sarandon was seemingly unfazed after a major Hollywood talent agency decided to drop the actress over her controversial remarks about Jews.
Ain't that cute? Susie's got a proletarian hat.
Sarandon was photographed Wednesday appearing in good spirits with a pleasant smirk on her face as she walked in New York City.
Smirks are never pleasant. That’s the point.
The Oscar winner was dressed in a Simpsons-themed bomber jacket, gray pants, gray and red sneakers, a newsboy cap and maroon-colored gloves.
Looks more like a high school class jacket to me. It'd look out of place on a B-17. So would Susie.
Mutton dressed as lamb, as they say. The poor dear is not aging well, despite botox and good bones.
The casual ensemble was very similar to the one Sarandon, 77, wore when she was snapped at a "Shut It Down for Paleostine" protest last Friday at Union Square.

Froma Harrop: Democrats should move to the center ‐ of the country
2018-07-30
[TheAdvertiser] Contrary to what we hear, "the energy" in the Democratic Party is coming not so much from the political left as from the geographical center. The most notable victories belong to Conor Lamb in Pennsylvania, Doug Jones in Alabama and Democrats taking statehouse seats in Missouri and Wisconsin. They win because they talk economics, not economic theory, and they avoid sounding radical.

Our last two Democratic presidents, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, spoke to wide audiences. Both hailed from the interior.
Hawaii is not the interior. But Mr. Obama’s political resume was built in Chicago, which is.
Both were elected twice.

The direction the "energy" in the Democratic Party is coming from is irrelevant, in any case. The votes are coming from the political center, and votes are what matter. To win political power, Democrats must take congressional seats away from Republicans. Geographically central Democrats know best how to attract wavering voters.

This is not to take credit from the few very left candidates who have wrested nominations from other Democrats. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won fair and square against a longtime Democratic congressman. She has deep roots in her district covering parts of the Bronx and Queens, organized brilliantly and has not a lazy bone in her body.

But the problem with her and other insurgents is that defeating Republicans often comes second to building their "movement." Ocasio-Cortez is super smart,
...for a given definition of the term that means something else altogether...
but she has a lot to learn.

One of her first post-victory tweets was a battle call for other left candidates to beat the establishment ‐ the establishment being Democrats running elsewhere ‐ rather than the Republicans owning both houses of Congress. Inexplicably, she publicly gushed over the flaky actress Susan Sarandon. During the presidential campaign, Sarandon held that Hillary Clinton was more dangerous than Donald Trump. And she was happy that Clinton lost.

A Democratic Socialist doing well in the Bronx is less impressive than any Democrat polling strong in a West Virginia district that Trump won by 50 percentage points. That would be Richard Ojeda, an Army veteran with 30 tattoos (and counting). He is pro-coal but also pro-teacher and pro-letting people buy into Medicare for health coverage.

Even coastal Democrats are not necessarily enthusiastic about movement-run crusades. Consider Sen. Dianne Feinstein's bumpy bid to represent California for a sixth term.

Leaders in California's Democratic Party, currently under left-wing management, twice rejected the centrist Feinstein for a more fire-breathing progressive, Kevin de Leon. When ordinary Democrats got a chance to vote in the primary, Feinstein buried de Leon ‐ 2.9 million votes for her, 804,000 votes for him. Seems no one in California likes Feinstein except the voters.

The left's list of priorities contains both the attractive and the ridiculous. Sadly, overexposure to all that "energy" has lured old-hand liberals to jump on every shiny new thing the left dangles. How else to explain the spectacle of Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Kirsten Gillibrand of New York pushing the politically toxic hashtag about abolishing ICE, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency?
To be fair, the honourable former Harvard professor Senator Warren is only smart for a fake Indian, as real Native Americans have been at pains to point out.
Democrats far from the ocean beaches seem somehow more attuned to ordinary voters and less indulgent of the activists.
A palpable point.
It was thus too bad that Rep. Tim Ryan of northeast Ohio failed in his 2016 quest to replace Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco as House Minority Leader. Pelosi is captive to an identity politics that seems to exclude the white working class, a group Ryan reaches and so should other Democrats.

This November, Democrats will have contenders up and down the political spectrum. That's fine so long as the candidates fit their district. But when it comes to finding an appealing voice for a national electorate, they should look to the center ‐ the center of the country, that is.

Froma Harrop (born March 18, 1950 in New York City) is an American writer and author. Though generally liberal / left-of-center, she is known for her unconventional approach and libertarian streak. The Heartland Institute, a conservative and libertarian public policy think tank, has called her its "favorite lefty."[1]

So we now have dead bodies at Occupy Vancouver, Occupy Oakland, Occupy Salt Lake City, and even Occupy Burlington, Vermont. The good news is that for the moment Occupy Wall Street types seem more at risk from scrofula:

“I’m amazed that in a park full of revolutionaries, there are large contingents that can’t throw away their own trash,” said Jordan McCarthy, 22, a member of the protesters’ sanitation team.

Jordan and her fellow “revolutionaries” like to assure us that they’re the future. And in the sense that, in a post-prosperity America pox-ridden encampments of the homicidal, suicidal and narcotically inept will not seem that unusual, she may have a point. But I do hope at least a few of the celebrities who’ve endorsed the movement – Susan Sarandon, Cornel West, Naomi Klein, Michael Moore, Margaret Atwood, Noam Chomsky – get to spend the night

Socialist Spring Starts Small
2011-10-04
Small, but front-page WaPo stuff, building on yesterday's editorial about the lefty tea party dream.
New York's budding anti-capitalism protest movement began last month with a vague sense of grievance over the widening gap between the rich and poor in America.
So it should be anti-crony-capitalism.
But in three weeks, it has provided fuel for a broader national anti-corporate message, drawing inspiration from the Arab Spring but struggling to define its goals beyond a general feeling that power needs to be restored to ordinary people.
Power to the people! Why didn't we think of that slogan before? Oh, wait...somebody did.
On Monday morning, the scene at the heart of the self-styled Occupy Wall Street movement -- Zuccotti Park, two blocks north of Wall Street -- had the feeling of a street fair, with women in brightly colored wigs playing with hula hoops. The site www. occupytogether.org serves as a clearinghouse for information on the movement and includes a list of events around the country.
Check it out, Dudes! Front-page face time!
A collection of protesters wearing white face paint with streaks resembling blood at their lips conducted a "zombie parade" down Broadway to underscore what they see as the ghoulish nature of capitalism.
We want to model our movement after the Greeks - they aren't capitalists!
Despite having no single leader and no organized agenda, the protesters insist they are on the verge of translating their broad expression of grievance into a durable national cause.
Yeah! Just like the Tea Party! All they needed was a little media attention. And Sarah Palin. But we don't need Sarah - we got Arthur!
"The criticism has focused on the lack of cohesion in our message and demands," said Arthur Kohl-Riggs, 23, a political activist from the loony farm of the midwest Madison, Wis. But what the critics don't understand, he said, is "the value of forming a direct democratic movement" that is not controlled by political elites.
Sort of like those Tea party dudes, but more fair.
"Never mind those strings on my own back!"
The protests have drawn an assortment of anarchists, anti-globalization activists and disaffected 20-somethings from North Carolina, Minnesota and Wisconsin -- the type of polyglot crowd that has been known to disrupt International Monetary Fund and World Bank meetings.
What, there aren't any international meetings coming up? How will we fill our days?
But the efforts have also drawn support from union members, including New York transportation workers who allowed some of the protesters to take shelter inside the subway system.
Yeah! Our union brothers!
The primary theme is that corporate capitalists, backed by corrupt politicians, have tipped the balance of the economic system too far in favor of the powerful, thus condemning the regular guy to a sea of debt and little opportunity.
Where do the union big-shots fit in there - capitalists or politicians?
What he's really protesting is the current crony socialism...
The movement has struck a chord in some liberal New York circles, attracting the usual fools, rubes and washed up celebrities such as actress Susan Sarandon and disgraced Democratic celebrity former New York governor David Paterson. It also got a seal of approval from one of the world's most successful capitalists, billionaire George Soros, who said the demonstrators had every reason to be angry at the U.S. financial system for jeopardizing their future.
My irony meter melted and bubbled when I read that!

Save O by Pushing Him Left
2010-12-04
WaPo editorial page, next to the "Palin is bad, but not deserving of the horrible treatment by the GOP blue bloods" - hitting two conservative birds with one stone.
To many liberals and progressives, the president's unwillingness to veto any measure that includes continued tax relief for billionaires is the last straw, building on a record of spinelessness that includes his escalation of the war in Afghanistan, abandonment of a public option for health-care reform, refusal to prosecute those who tortured in Iraq or lied us into that war, and unwillingness to tax carbon emissions.
One sentence. I know it seems like three, but I checked!
But there is a real way to save the Obama presidency: by challenging him in the 2012 presidential primaries with a candidate who would unequivocally commit to a well-defined progressive agenda and contrast it with the Obama administration's policies. Such a candidacy would be pooh-poohed by the media, if he/she were ever able to rise to the level of recognition by the media, but if it gathered enough popular support - as is likely given the level of alienation among many who were the backbone of Obama's 2008 success - this campaign would pressure Obama toward much more progressive positions and make him a more viable 2012 candidate.
Two, three. WOT money quote next.
The basic platform for such a candidate is clear: Unequivocally call for an immediate end to the presence of U.S. troops, advisers and private U.S.-based security firms in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan, and replace the "war on terror" with a Global Marshall Plan that roots homeland security in a strategy of generosity and concern for the well-being of everyone on the planet.
Four sentences, but trust me, it gets better!
Public officials who would make excellent candidates should they run on this platform include Sens. Russ Feingold, Bernie Sanders, Barbara Mikulski or Al Franken; Reps. Joe Sestak, Maxine Waters, Raul Grijalva, Alan Grayson, Barbara Lee, Dennis Kucinich, Lois Capps, Jim Moran and Lynn Woolsey. Why not Rachel Maddow, Bill Moyers, Susan Sarandon or the Rev. James Forbes? All suggestions need to be part of this critical conversation. What's clear is that we need such a candidate, and the finances to back her or him, very soon.
Eight. Somebody told me that was fair use. I think this guy has a great idea! Go San Fran Nan!

Cuban media acknowledges jailed dissident's death
2010-02-27

State media reported the death of a jailed, dissident hunger striker on Saturday, acknowledging four days after the fact a story that most Cubans had already heard through word of mouth.
Granma: "Tuesday's News Today™"
Writing in the Communist Party daily Granma, a longtime government essayist accused opposition groups and "forces of the counterrevolution" of making a martyr out of Orlando Zapata Tamayo when he was actually a common criminal.
"as we define it"
"Cuban mercenaries can be detained and tried according to applicable laws - in no country can you violate the law," Enrique Ubieta Gomez wrote.
No progressive outrage over the death and that statement, either ...
Zapata Tamayo died Tuesday after refusing solid food for weeks. Imprisoned in 2003 for disrespecting authority, he was eventually sentenced to 25 years for activism behind bars and was considered a "prisoner of conscience" internationally.

Cuba tolerates no official opposition to its single-party communist system and dismisses dissidents and political activists as paid agents of Washington, out to topple the government.

Zapata Tamayo was originally held in his native eastern Cuba before being transferred to Havana and later hospitalized just before his death. The case sparked international outcry, and President Raul Castro took the unprecedented step of expressing public regret - but denied that Zapata Tamayo was mistreated.

Noted Liberal Tim Robbins Donates $ to.....Republicans????
2010-01-04
Damn, that must have been one hell of a break up with Susan Sarandon....
Actor Tim Robbins is making heads turn again.

Not only has the outspoken liberal managed to separate from longtime girlfriend Susan Sarandon without much fanfare, but according to the Daily Beast, Robbins has donated $5,000 to various Republicans in the House and Senate, including Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.).

"Former GOP congressman J.D. Hayworth of Arizona, who lost in 2006 despite Robbins' $500 donation, was baffled and surprised. ... 'Maybe because I covered the Durham Bulls as a sports broadcaster in the late 1970s and early '80s? Maybe because I used to frequently rent Bob Roberts back in the '90s?' Hayworth wondered, mentioning two of Robbins' starring vehicles. 'All I can say is, 'Thank you!' I hope he enjoyed the Christmas card.'"

Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins split after 23 years
2009-12-25
One of Hollywood's most enduring couples has separated.

Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, partners for 23 years and parents of two sons, split up over the summer, publicist Teal Cannady said in a statement Wednesday. She did not elaborate.

Sarandon, 63, and Robbins, 51, met while shooting the 1988 film "Bull Durham." He played a hotshot pitcher, she was the passionate fan who simultaneously seduced him and prepared him for the big leagues.

Sarandon and Robbins never married. Instead, they have been compared to other longtime Hollywood pairs who remain committed despite never officially tying the knot, such as Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.

Sarandon stars in "The Lovely Bones," opening worldwide next month. Robbins last appeared in 2008's "City of Ember."
