Two more killed in 'shootouts'
2014-01-29
[Bangla Daily Star] Two suspected criminals, including a leader of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party
...the Proletarian Party of East Bengal, a Maoist party that has seen better days. It supported independence in 1971 and has periodic shootouts and fisticuffs with the Bangla Jamaat-e-Islami, but has fallen on hard times, with many of its leaders rubbed out by the RAB or indignant citizenry. It is also subject to factionalism, to the extent that it may have more factions than it has actual members...
(PBCP), were killed in "shootouts" between their cohorts and law enforcers in Khulna and Jessore yesterday.

Including them the number of extrajudicial killings comes to 17 in this month. At least eight were killed while they were in jug of law enforcers. Police versions of the "shootouts" were found more or less similar.

Extrajudicial killings should be stopped immediately, said Sultana Kamal, executive director of Ain o Salish Kendra, a rights body that provides legal aid.

"If they are really accused [of crimes], they should be punished through a proper judicial process," she said, adding such extrajudicial killings should not be allowed in any democratic country.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Don Smilzo looked for an avenue of escape. The only window opened a hundred feet above the moat. The nearest of the hired assassins hold a bloody axe.
The window was looking better all the time....

expressing concern over the recent spate of extrajudicial killings, Human Rights Watch
... dedicated to bitching about human rights violations around the world...
called for an independent investigation into the incidents.

Yesterday, Touhidul Islam Sabuj, 28, the second-in-command of PBCP, was killed in an exchange of shots between his party members and police in Phultala upazila of Khulna, according to police.

Sabuj and his associates were holding a meeting at Chatiantola in the upazila around 3:30am. On a tip-off,
"Hello? Is dis da cops? Lissen, dis is Mahmoud the Weasel..."
a police team led by the officer-in-charge of Phultala Police Station went to raid the area. A "shootout" ensued as they fired at the law enforcers, said the OC, Mohammad Elias Fakir.
"You may [BANG!] fire when ready, [BANG!] Sergeant Shafiq! [BANGETY BANG!]"
After the firing that lasted for nearly an hour, police found Sabuj lying in a pool of blood while his associates managed to flee.
"Cheaply made flip-flops, don't fail me now!"
He was taken to Phultala Upazila Health Complex where he departed this vale of tears nearly eight hours after the incident, the OC added.
"Dr. Quincy to the white courtesy phone! Dr. Quincy!"
However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
Monjur Morshed, upazila health and family planning officer, said he had heard from the doctor, who was on duty at the hospital at the time, that Sabuj was brought in dead.
"He's dead, Jim!"
Sabuj was accused in nine murder cases and three others filed under the Arms Act.
He had the death sentence on twelve systems!
Police said they had recovered two firearms, 19 bullets, six handmade bombs and two machetes from the spot.

In Abhaynagar upazila of Jessore, Rabiul Islam, 28, a member of a local gang, Mesbah Bahini, was killed in a "shootout" with the joint force, police sources said.
"It is the joint force! Open fire, men!"
This is the gang that had hacked and then burnt alive Chaitanya Kumar Mondol, 48, the youth and sports secretary of Magura ward Awami League, on Sunday night.

Police tossed in the slammer
You have the right to remain silent...
Rabiul yesterday in connection with a mugging case.
"Stick 'em up!"
Acting on the information extracted from him,
"Ow! O-w-w-w-w! Make him stop! I confess! I killed Jon Benet!"
a team of the joint force conducted a drive at Ziadanga village in the upazila around 2:00am to recover arms, Syed Mostafa Kamal, assistant superintendent of police in Jessore, told The Daily Star.
"Yessir, that's what they done!"
As the law enforcers reached near a bamboo cluster of the village, cohorts of Mesbah-ur-Rahman, leader of the gang, opened fire on them, the ASP said.
"You'll never take me alive, coppers!"
The join force members fired back.
[BANG!] We knew that! [BANG!]
During the "shootout" Rabiul tried to run away
"I'm outta here!"
and got injured in the firing.
"Aaaaiiiieee! I am undone!"
He was rushed
"Is the ambulance here yet?"
"Patience! It's on its way! See the blinky light?"
"Ummm... That's a rickshaw!"

to Abhaynagar Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
He's dead, Jim!

Rabiul was accused in several cases, including murder and mugging charges.
"Aye, sir. He wuz a bad un!"
Three police personnel also sustained minor injuries during the firing.
"Whoa! Rafiqul! That's gotta hurt!"
"You betcha it does. Loan me your nail clipper!"

A pistol and two bullets were recovered from the scene.
"No, wait a minute! Three bullets! I found another one!"
"That's not a bullet! It's a... a... musket ball?"
"A musket ball's a bullet."
"No, it ain't."

Life term for 46 Purbo Banglars
2013-05-16
[Bangla Daily Star] A Speedy Trial Tribunal of Rajshahi yesterday sentenced life term imprisonment to 46 operatives of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party
...the Proletarian Party of East Bengal, a Maoist party that has seen better days. It supported independence in 1971 and has periodic shootouts and fisticuffs with the Bangla Jamaat-e-Islami, but has fallen on hard times, with many of its leaders rubbed out by the RAB or indignant citizenry. It is also subject to factionalism, to the extent that it may have more factions than it has actual members...
for killing six people at Atrai upazila in Naogaon in 2003.

Judge Ekramul Haque Chowdhury fined the convicts Tk 30,000 each, in default, they would have to suffer one year of imprisonment more, said public prosecutor Entajul Haque.

Of the convicts, 28 were present on the dock during the verdict whereas 18 remained absconding.

The court, however, acquitted 16 accused in the case.

A band of operatives of the PBCP (Red Flag) took part in a killing mission at two houses at Naidighi village in the upazila on April 24, 2003 and killed Jahangir Hossain, Sukbor Hossain, Abdul Jabbar, Shahjahan, Mojammel Haque and Biddyut.

Jahangir's father filed a murder case with Atrai Police Station on the following day accusing 150 unnamed PBCP members.

Police submitted a charge sheet in the case against 63 people on September 30, 2004.

The judge examined 25 prosecution witnesses and pieces of evidence before reaching the verdict yesterday.

One of the accused could not be tried following his death during the trial process.

The plaintiff, Jahangir's father, had already expired.

However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
Abdul Kuddus, elder brother of victims Sahajahan and Biddyut, in his reaction said they had expected the killers to walk the gallows. He expressed his satisfaction.

PP Entajul said the victims' rivals had hired the PBCP outlaws for the murder, as there was a longstanding conflict over the lease of some water bodies in the village.

Prior to the murder, the PBCP men had also threatened the victims to face dire consequences for being in disputes with Akkas, Ekhlas and Robiul Alam of the village, he added.

The victims took cautionary measures following the threat and started living in a hidden chamber inside their houses.

On the fateful day, the PBCP men, carrying machetes and cleavers, attacked Jahangir's house first around 3:00am and killed him by slitting his throat.

They then moved on to an adjacent house and killed the remaining victims in the similar fashion after getting them out from the hiding place.

The PBCP members also rolled their eyes, jumped up and down, and hollered poorly rhymed slogans real loud while fleeing the scene.

Purbo Banglars kill BNP leader, beautiful daughter
2013-03-22
[Bangla Daily Star] Operatives of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) killed a local BNP leader and his daughter in Mujibnagar upazila of Meherpur yesterday.
We seen dis movie!
Of the two, Helal Uddin, joint secretary of Mujibnagar upazila BNP, was hacked indiscriminately, and he died on the spot around 7:00pm.
It had subtitles.
His daughter Kakoli Yasmin Mitu, 22, was fatally hit by shrapnel from three cocktails thrown at her when she went to save her father. She died at Meherpur General Hospital around 11:50pm, Mofazzel Hossain, superintendent of Meherpur police, told The Daily Star around 12:30am today.
"She's dead, Jim!"
In leaflets left on the scene, members of PBCP-Janajuddho faction have claimed responsibility for the murder of Helal, a village doctor by profession, reported our Kushtia correspondent.
"Leaflets at the scene, eh? Le Gume, I suspect Purbo Banglar Communists!"
Around 6:30pm, some 12 Janajuddho cadres stormed Helal's house in Ratanpur village shortly after he returned from Mujibnagar Bazar.
"Father! The Janajuddho cadres are attacking!"
"Bring me my prang, daughter!"

As they tried to get hold of Helal, his daughter Kakoli and wife came to his rescue.
"You shall not harm my father!"
But they stabbed Kakoli in the head.
"O-o-o-o-w!"
At one stage of the tussle, Helal ran out of the house only to be chased down by the attackers.
"Get him!"
Undeterred, his plucky daughter followed the gang but could not go far as they hurled cocktails at her, said Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Mujibnagar Police Station, quoting the victims' family members.
"Ker-BANG!"
"Aaaiiieee! I am undone! Mukhtar, my secret love! Avenge me!"

"We have found a leaflet on the spot where Janajuddho leader Bikash Kumar said they killed Helal for not obeying their orders," said the OC.
"Helal's daughter! Sweet Kakoli! How I loved her! I must have... Dire RevengeĀ™!"
Bikash, who claims to be operations commander of Janajuddho Khulna division, had been demanding hefty sums from Helal for a month. But the BNP leader refused to pay the money.
"Not one taka in tribute!"
The PBCP men had fixed Monday as the last date for him to pay.
"Yez'll pay up by Monday, Helal, or else!"
"Failing to get the money within that time, the outlaws threatened to kill him," Rabiul added.
"It's gonna be curtains for youse!"
Helal neither informed the police of the matter nor lodged any complaint against anybody, the officer said.
"I can't go to the police with this, daughter! If they discover I spent all the money the Chinese loaned the nation for the bridge while we were in power it's four gray walls for me!"
"But, Dad! You'd still be alive! We'd bring you lunch, every day!"
"You're a good girl, Kakoli. I'm glad I've turned away all your suitors and used you as a kitchen drudge! You're such a comfort!"

A special drive was on to arrest the killers.
"Yes! They murdered an innocent girl in the flower of her beauty! Oh, sweet Kakoli! If I wasn't a gangster she'd have been my bride!"
"Dere, dere, Mukhtar! We'll rub dem commies out!"
"[Sniff!] Youse guys are the best bahini ever!"

Top outlaw killed in 'shootout'
2012-09-05
[Bangla Daily Star] A regional leader of outlawed Lal Pataka, a faction of Purbo Banglar Communist Party
...the Proletarian Party of East Bengal, a Maoist party that has seen better days. It supported independence in 1971 and has periodic shootouts and fisticuffs with the Bangla Jamaat-e-Islami, but has fallen on hard times, with many of its leaders rubbed out by the RAB or indignant citizenry. It is also subject to factionalism, to the extent that it may have more factions than it has actual members...
, was killed in a "shootout" between police and his cohorts in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia early yesterday.
Manolo! Fetch the map!
The dead, Abdul Jalil, 43, of Isalmari village in the upazila, was a leader of the outfit active in Mirpur and sadar upazilas in Kushtia and Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga.

On information that a group of outlaws, including Jalil, was about to gather at Aziz Brick Kiln at Pulpara,
A properly proletarian location, redolent of the labouring masses...
two teams of Detective Branch of Kushtia and Mirpur police raided the area around 3:30am,
Yessss, the bestest raids take place at 0 dark thirty...
said Chokdar Abdul Halim, assistant superintendent of police (Mirpur circle).

"Police asked the outlaws to surrender
Most politely, and with hand-delivered, engraved invitations on heavy card stock...
but they shot up the law enforcers.
How rude! RSVP does not mean 'shoot the innocent butler'.
We fired shots to defend ourselves," the ASP said.
And the butler. Though nameless, he ought not be forgotten.
At one stage of the hour-long shootout,
"You took an hour to put two bullets behind the ear of Abdul Jalil, 43, Corporal Md Abdullullah?"
"Sorry sir. But it was time for our tea break. We were multitasking, per the captain's efficiency drive."
the outlaws managed to flee the scene.
... as though they had never been...
Later, police recovered the body of Jalil from the spot, Halim said. Two light guns, six bullets and two bombs were also found there.
To be polished to a gleam by the newest recruit before being returned to their velvet cases in the evidence vault. The shutter gun has been out for repairs.
According to police, Jalil was an accused in 11 cases,
...On twelve systems, which takes some doing...
including four for murder and extortion, two for bombing and one for abduction, filed with Mirpur and Islamic University cop shoppes of Kushtia and Alamdanga Police Station of Chuadanga.

The Kushtia District and Sessions Judge's Court had sentenced Jalil to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment in an arms case in 2001.

Soon after his release in 2011, Jalil allegedly bumped offed Abu Zafar, a member of Kursha Union Gay Pareehad in Mirpur upazila and since then he was on the run.

(PBCP-ML) was found dead in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia yesterday morning.

The victim, Motaleb Hossain, 45, was the chief of the Lal Pataka faction, said Assistant Police Super of Kushtia Chokdar Abdul Halim.

Informed by locals, police recovered the bullet-hit body of Motaleb from Jhutiadanga field at Malihad village in Mirpur around 6:00 am, the ASP said.

Quoting victim's relatives, the ASP said Motaleb went missing on Tuesday night. "He might have been bumped off by his rivals," he said.

Hailing from Gaserdia village in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia, Motaleb was accused in at least 14 cases, including six for murders filed with Mirpur, Bheramara and Daulatpur cop shoppes of the district, police sources said.

Bangladesh
Outlaw killed in 'shootout' with Rab
2011-11-05
[Bangla Daily Star] A leader of an outlawed organization was killed in a so-called 'shootout'
Heads up! We've got a new writer, one with an education.
between his accomplices and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Kamarkhand upazila of Sirajganj early yesterday.
Who wants to find that on the map for us? I need new glasses.
The magnifying glass is in the drawer...
Rab said Khorshed Alam, 34, was a regional commander of Lal Pataka, a faction of extremrrhoid outfit Purbo Banglar Communist Party
...the Proletarian Party of East Bengal, a Maoist party that has seen better days. It supported independence in 1971 and has periodic shootouts and fisticuffs which the Bangla Jamaat-e-Islami, but has fallen on hard times, with many of its leaders rubbed out by the RAB or indignant citizenry. It is also subject to factionalism, to the extent that it may have more factions than it has actual members...
. He lived in Jatibari Rasulpur village of the same upazila.
" 'Gonna be out for a while, Ma. A regional commander's got responsibilities, ya know.' He had responsibilities, and they killed him far from home, Aisha-Sue."
"It sounds like the beginning of a song, Missus Alam. Kinda like 'Barbara Allen'."
Khorshed had a number of cases, including five for murder, pending against him.
Five murder cases? He sounds more like a button man.
He only had the death sentence on five systems? Wotta gyp.
Rab-12 director Lt Col ATM Anisuzzaman told The Daily Star that a team led by deputy assistant director Mafiz Uddin raided Char Tangrail village around 2:30am
0230 hrs. Start of the shift for our RAB good guys.
"Load 'em up! Move 'em out! Spit out that gum, Sergeant Rafiq!"
"[PTUI!] Right, chief!"

over information
*Ring, ring* "Mahmoud the Weasel, Jr. here..."
that a gang of bad boyz were holding a secret meeting in the dead of night there.
But where? Banana grove, strawberry field, brick yard? Somewhere under cover one assumes, as it's the rainy season. We know it's the rainy season because over in West Pakistan we're reading about the annual Drowning of the Poor.
Good thinking. Try the bus station.
Sensing trouble,
"Ohmigod, boss -- my Spidey Sense! It's never done that before!"
"[Gasp!] My scar! Is it Voldemort?... No... It's not the same pain... Could it be... Rab?"
Khorshed and his accomplices opened fire on them,
"It's the Rab! Open fire in random directions!"
prompting the elite force personnel to retaliate.
"They're shooting back, chief! Permission to return fire?"
"Granted! And spit out that gum!"
[PTUI!]
[BANG! BANG! BANGETY BANG!]

Khorshed was struck down in his prime
"Aaaiiiee! I am undone!... [KEEL!]... [FLOP!]... [TWITCH!]"
while his cohorts managed to flee the scene.
... as though they had never been...
the Rab officer said.
One pictures the Rab officer speaking in brusque, clipped sentences, while our intrepid junior reporter, ink on his BA (English Lit.) still damp, struggled to keep up. He got even by referring to the " 'so called' encounter", instead of playing it straight, though.
Rab members later recovered a foreign made revolver, four local guns, three rounds of bullet and sharp weapons from the spot.
Funny how the bad guys manage to leave their weapons at the scene. Very sloppy.
That's ok. The new trainee gets to polish them up and put them back in their velvet lined cases in the evidence room.
A case was lodged in this connection.

Libyan PM: Khadaffy killed by crossfire [audio]
2011-10-22

According to PM Jibril, Gadhafi "did not show any resistance" at first. But as "freedom fighters" were taking him into custody, "he came under crossfire from both sides."
Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP Marxist-Leninist) Lal Pataka faction fugitive Moammar "The Rat" Khadaffy was killed in a crossfire between Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) National Transition Council (NTC) and his cohorts at Ramarama Thandarpara area in Bagmara upazila of Sirte early Thursday.

As the NTC fighters challenged his group at a mango orchard at Sirte, they shot fire on the NTC personnel triggering the gunfight.

Gadhafi was not executed by the fighters who captured him, Jibril told Robert.
After the gunfight the cohorts of Khadaffy managed to flee away, while the RAB NTC members assisted by locals discovered Khadaffy lying on the ground with fatal wounds. As he was rushed to local hospital, the doctors declared him dead.
Some of what Jibril said does not quite line up with the report from freelance journalist Marine Olivesi, who has seen Gadhafi's body and told NPR earlier that it appeared he had been shot several times in the chest.
RAB NTC members recovered a 7.65mm pistol, a shutter gun, four rounds of bullet, the keys to a 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, and some PBCP leaflets from the spot.
Bravo! Bravo! Author! Author!
*happy sigh*

2011-10-17
[Bangla Daily Star] A Rajshahi court yesterday awarded life imprisonment to 24 members of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party
...the Proletarian Party of East Bengal, a Maoist party that has seen better days. It supported independence in 1971 and has periodic shootouts and fisticuffs which the Bangla Jamaat-e-Islami, but has fallen on hard times, with many of its leaders rubbed out by the RAB or indignant citizenry. It is also subject to factionalism, to the extent that it may have more factions than it has actual members...
for killing a constable and looting arms at Taherpur in 2008.

The court also fined them Tk 20,000 each. In the event of a default on the fine, they will have to serve another six months in jail.

Twenty of those convicted were present in the dock when the judge of Rajshahi Speedy Trial Tribunal delivered the judgment. The remaining four were tried in absentia.

Constable Mizanur Rahman of Taherpur outpost in Bagmara was killed when a group of PBCP operatives attacked a police patrol at Taherpur market and snatched five firearms on May 2, 2008.
"What'll we do today, guys?"
"I know -- let's ambush a police patrol! That's always fun, and they'll never catch us if we run really fast!"
Four other cops were also injured in the attack. The gang first stabbed the coppers and then opened fire on them. Police in return fired two shots.

Police pressed charges against 29 outlaws in connection with the attack. Of the charge-sheeted accused, five were exempted from the case following their death in "shootouts" with law enforcers.
Innocent by reason of failure to exist?
Of the 24, Bachchu Islam, Gopal Dev Sharma, Feroz Uddin Boltu, Nazrul Islam, Tota, Chandu alias Matin, Jonab Mia, Osman Ali Mondol, Yasin Ali Mondol, Babul Hossain, Borhan alias Shanto, Rafiqul Islam, Badsha, Abdul Matin, Shahjalal, Gulzar Hossain, Jalal Uddin, Masud Mondol, Saiful Islam and Abu Bakar are behind bars.

Elahi alias Mithu, Mamun alias Bullet and Shafique alias Pradip are on the run.

Ratan alias Titas, who was killed in a "crossfire" with Rab in Bagmara on September 9 last year, was shown runaway convict in the judgment as the court was not informed of his death, said Entajul Haque Babu, public prosecutor of the tribunal.

Outlaw hacked to death in Chuadanga
2011-10-15
[Bangla Daily Star] A member of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party
...the Proletarian Party of East Bengal, a Maoist party that has seen better days.
(PBCP-ML) was hacked to death by his party members in Chuadanga yesterday.
Oh dear. After that explanation it seems a bit much to call the poor man a splitter.
Splitters generally hack people off... or something like that
Police recovered the beheaded body of Shahadat Hossain, 25,
Well-named, under the circumstances...
around 1:30am from Ruhitanpur village in Damurhuda upazila.
On the map...somewhere.
The murderers, identifying themselves as the activists of PBCP-ML, informed the journalists about the killing at about 12:00 midnight.
*ring, ring*. "Journalism Central, here. With whom did you wish to speak?"
"Yes, obits, s'il vous plait. I have a hacking to report."
"Then, you want hackings."
"Nooo, I want obits. The hackee died. Shahadat was the hackee."
"Who was the hacker?"
"I was the hacker along with a few of my friends."
"Who was the hacker?"
"Nooo, I was the hacker, who was on first. I mean Shahabat..."
"Shahabat was the hacker? Who was on first?"
"I was the hacker, Shabat was the hackee and I don't know was on third... DOH! Never mind! Get me rewrite!"
Shahadat, of Laxmipur village in Alamdanga upazila,
Clearly a wandering soul, that Shahadat.
was killed as per the decision of the party high command, as he was involved in extortion using the party name, the activists claimed.
Implying unnamed extortion would not have been unacceptable.
Shahadat was accused in a number of cases including three for murder, said Munshi Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Police Station.
Wanted on twelve planets, and not an Rab-man in sight? How can it be?

Rab 'shootout' kills Purbo Banglar
2011-04-30
[Bangla Daily Star] A leader of Janajuddha faction
Splitter!!!!
of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-ML) was killed in a 'shootout' between his cohorts and Rab at Goashbari village under Ataikula Police Station in Pabna
Presumably somewhere on the map...but it sounds too small to see without one of Old Patriot's special maps and a stronger pair of glasses.
early yesterday.

Ziarul Rahman, 28, alias Bomaru Zia,
A good alias, to be sure.
son of Mofiz Uddin of the village, was operational commander of the outlawed party.

Habibul Islam,
Golly. With a name like that, one might begin to suspect he's probably not a Lutheran .
officer-in-charge of the cop shoppe, said a patrol team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) challenged a gang of outlaws near Goashbari High School at about 3:00am as they were roaming there suspiciously.
Everyone knows only the most hardened of miscreants hang out at high schools.
Spider senses tingling at the proximity of the elite force, the outlaws opened fire on the law enforcers forcing them to fire back.
It's like getting an engraved invitation from the queen, you see. No real choice about how to respond.
Ziarul was caught in the line of fire while trying to flee the scene.
He somehow managed to flee in exactly the right way to acquire one bullet behind each ear. Quite clever, if you think about it.
His body was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for his appointment with Doctor Quincy.
"He's dead, Jim."
"Your perspicacity continues to amaze, Dr. Quincy. (Perspicacity is the word for today on my "Word of the Day" calendar)."
Police seized a shutter gun, a pistol, two magazines, one cartridge and five bullets from the spot.
Subsequently cleaned by the newest Rab recruit, polished to a gleam, and stored in their individual velvet bags until next they will be needed.
Ziarul was wanted in several cases including seven for murder, police said.
An old-fashioned badman. The modern ones all go in for ISI-sponsored jihad.

Janajuddha man killed in Kushtia 'shootout'
2010-12-17
[Bangla Daily Star] An operative of Janajuddha faction of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-ML)
There are Purbo's left in B-desh? The RAB hasn't gotten them all?
It's like those mushroom mites, the ones whose females are born pregnant. Steven Jay Gould wrote about them.
was killed in a 'shootout' with law enforcers in Doulatpur upazila of Kushtia early Thursday.
We have no idea where that is ...
But we have faith it's on the map.
The dead, Mosharraf Hossain alias Bomaru Musa, 35, son of Hobis Uddin of Angdia village in the upazila, was accused in twelve systems eight cases including two for killing, police said.
The story seems out of order. Doesn't that part come at the end?
The Rab have expanded so rapidly on the back of early successes that the newcomers aren't being properly trained in report writing. They need to put a call out for two or three dozen English majors to aid in the work.
Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Doulatpur Police Station, said a joint team of Rapid Action Battalion-12 and police, on secret information,
That would be Mahmoud the Weasel's grand-nephew, Belal. Mahmoud retired to his newly-purchased country estate on the proceeds last year.
raided Chatarpara field at about 1:30am
A little early for the RAB, unless they were doing a double ...
where Musa along with his accomplices were holding a clandestine meeting.
Thank goodness each new Rab unit is issued its own dictionary. Clandestine feels so much more secret than secret.
Sensing their presence,
My spider sense! It's tingling again! To arms! Aux barricades!
the gang opened aimless fire on our heroes the team compelling them to retaliate
Of course the RAB retaliated, they weren't out there for their health ...
that triggered a 'shootout'.
Yep, meets all the criteria for a 'shootout', especially the deader ...
At one stage, the outlaws
Not miscreants?
Definitely not the country band
managed to flee the scene.
... as though they had never been...

Later, police recovered the bullet-hit body of Musa lying on the ground,
right where they left him ...
