Marco Rubio 'impersonator' used AI to mimic top Trump aide's voice on calls with foreign leaders
2025-07-09 | |
U.S. officials are hunting for the culprit, and assess that it is part of a plan to mop up information, the Washington Post reported. The news comes just weeks after another impersonation plot involving a high-powered figure in the Trump White House, this one involving White House chief of staff Susie Wiles. That nefarious plot involved stolen data from the personal cellphone of White House chief of staff Susie Wiles that was then used to call some of American's most powerful people. In the Rubio scam, someone purporting to be the secretary of state who also serves as Trump's national security advisor dialed three foreign secretaries, as well as a governor and a U.S. member of Congress 'with the goal of gaining access to information or accounts,' according to a cable obtained by the Post. The imposter 'contacted at least five non-Department individuals, including three foreign ministers, a U.S. governor, and a U.S. member of Congress,' according to the July 3 cable. The imposter used text messages and the encrypted Signal app, the same app that led to the ouster of former National Security Advisor Michael Waltz after he accidentally added a reporter to a Signal group chat where top officials discussed a bombing campaign. The contacts came in mid-June, during a flurry of high-stakes diplomatic activity amid wars in the Middle East and Ukraine and trade wars set off by President Trump's tariffs. 'The actor likely aimed to manipulate targeted individuals using AI-generated text and voice messages, with the goal of gaining access to information or accounts,' according to the cable. The Daily Mail reached out to the State Department for a comment on the security breach. AI tools are becoming increasingly powerful and easy to access, and creating a message in the voice a senior government official like Rubio is not particularly challenging. There are massive amounts of publicly available clips that would allow AI technology to closely mimic Rubio's speech patterns and even content. By relying on voice messages, the imposter would be able to fire off believable sounding missives that could potentially be used to collect additional information, with less risk of catching an error through real-time interaction. The Daily Mail has reached out to the State Department and the White House for comment. 'The actor left voicemails on Signal for at least two targeted individuals and in one instance, sent a text message inviting the individual to communicate on Signal,' according to the cable. Rubio makes for an obvious target because of his influence and his portfolio, which would give him a reason to interact with top officials throughout the government and abroad. The former U.S. senator and former presidential candidate was seated to Trump's right during Monday night's high-stakes meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where the Israeli leader handed Trump a letter nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize, and where Trump called for sending arms to Ukraine and said he would meet with Iranian officials on a potential deal next week. AI has already been used to manipulate public officials in campaign ads or commit deep fakes of Hollywood celebrities like Jennifer Anniston. The FBI warned in May about an 'ongoing malicious text and voice messaging campaign.'

Illegal Immigrants Helpfully Wave Flags So ICE Knows Where To Send Them
2025-06-08 | ||
![]() ICE agents thanked the illegals for simplifying the process, making it much easier to know where they came from and what planes to load them on. "It makes our jobs a lot easier," said immigration agent Hank Simpson. "Under normal circumstances, we'd have to spend hours or even days trying to identify these people and figure out where they came from and how to get them back home. Now, with them out there waving flags, it's pretty cut and dry."
At publishing time, ICE officials had loaded several hundred people waving Palestinian flags on a flight back to Gaza.

Deep Dive into FBI Scandal on Prohibited Files in Sentinel System |
2025-06-02 |
[ConservativeTreehouse] Details Surface of FBI Record System Containing “Prohibited Access” Files, Exclusively Controlled by 7th Floor FBI Officials As previously noted, Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley released some of the FBI investigative files related to a congressional referral of Nellie Ohr for false testimony to congress. Within the Grassley release the declassified FBI investigative notes show that Trump-Russia files were compartmentalized, allowing control over access to them by the FBI Director and FBI Deputy Director. The 7th floor level classification within the FBI’s Sentinel record-keeping system was previously unknown, and now people are starting to ask questions about what other information may be filed yet invisible due to the classification designation of “Prohibited Access.” The Sentinel record-keeping system allows FBI officials and investigators to review and research the status of investigations both past and current. The Sentinel system is also the information system that is searched for responsive documents to legal cases and FOIA inquires. The Sentinel system contains all the information used by the FBI. Within the Sentinel system there are “Restricted Access” files that are used to control who can view the file information. The FBI official can see the file but cannot access the information within it without a higher clearance level. However, now people are discovering there is a “Prohibited Access” designation that makes the file invisible to searches or queries and is controlled by the FBI Director and FBI Deputy Director. Margot Cleveland is asking some good questions about how the use of the “Prohibited Access” designation may circumvent the FBI’s legal requirements (brady material) and FOIA searches. [SEE HERE] However, I would also note this approach hides information not only from congress and from the public, but also from the Executive branch itself. The DNI wouldn’t even know what information exists. Additionally, we can expand the overall issue to highlight this same approach at work in various other governmental agencies. This is one of the reasons I refer to the agencies within government more aptly as information “silos.” The same “secrecy filtering” system outlined in the FBI Sentinel system, “restricted access” (visible but needing a higher clearance) vs “prohibited access” (totally invisible) exists in other govt systems. The NSA, DHS and CIA contain the same issue, information hidden and kept secret. This is the core reason I have historically called them “silos.” The same ‘what the heck’ realization encountered with the FBI file keeping, as noted by the Grassley revelations, extends far beyond the FBI. This is also why I have said the Intelligence Community has created a “caste system” within the surveillance and information space. Now do you see why elements of the IC, and by extension their political enablers, were going bananas about DOGE access? Simmer on it for a moment, because it gets worse. Right now, like right now while you are reading this, the same framework is being applied to the DHS surveillance network, where “restricted access” and “prohibited access” (invisible) are being applied to PEOPLE. Our government, via Palantir, is currently building the domestic identity surveillance system, where every identity will be stored. However, within the storage, and by extension the parameters of the surveillance search results, there will be people who are defined by placing their identity in the “prohibited access” category. Great job realizing the secrecy ramifications of the issue within the FBI and their exploitation therein. Now extend that realization to the ramifications for us of other silos doing the same. I was told in August 2020 that the FBI investigative file into James Wolfe leaking the Carter Page FISA application, is in the “prohibited access” tier of the FBI because it outlines Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Vice-Chairman Mark Warner participating and directing the leak. That was how/why SSCI Security Director James Wolfe was never charged with leaking a TSCI classified file. Is the President of the United States really in charge of the executive branch, when the agencies can easily hide information from him? Nellie Ohr, Justice Department official's wife, perjured herself with ‘demonstrably false' Trump-Russia testimony: bombshell FBI records |
2025-05-29 |
![]() The wife of a former Justice Department official gave “demonstrably false” testimony to Congress about her involvement in drafting and disseminating since-debunked dossiers about Donald Trump’s purported collusion with Russia in 2016, according to a bombshell trove of internal FBI records released Wednesday by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). Nellie Ohr worked for research firm Fusion GPS when it was hired in the lead-up to the 2016 election to dig up dirt on the Trump campaign’s alleged links to Russian organized crime — but later told a House panel she did not know about the DOJ’s parallel investigation into the matter. Evidence assembled by the FBI indicates that Ohr helped compile two dossiers — including the notorious file pushed by former MI6 agent Christopher Steele — that helped launch the bureau’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation. The Fusion GPS research repeated errors or included information similar to that discovered later in the Steele dossier. Ohr also sent emails — some of which she later deleted — directly to DOJ prosecutors, not all of whom she admitted to interacting with in subsequent congressional testimony. Ohr’s husband Bruce, then a deputy associate attorney general, received more emails as well as a thumb drive from Nellie containing Fusion GPS research that was passed on to the FBI. The couple personally met Steele at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington on July 30, 2016, and discussed allegations — later relayed to the bureau — that Trump campaign aide Carter Page had met with Russian officials and that Kremlin intelligence had the Republican candidate “over a barrel.” While the Ohrs invoked spousal privilege before Congress on the question of whether they discussed the Trump-Russia probe, the declassified FBI files put out by Grassley reveal the bureau determined there was “little distinction” between the couple’s professional and personal lives. “There is probable cause to believe that Bruce and Nellie did communicate with each other about their respective activity in furtherance of the Russia-collusion investigations and/or narrative,” the 43-page FBI document written in September of 2019 states. The records were compiled in response to a criminal referral made that year by then-Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) that claimed Nellie Ohr knowingly gave false testimony about her involvement with the collusion investigation to the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees in October 2018. A car rammed into a crowd of people in Liverpool during Liverpool FC's victory parade

[X]
Emergency services rushed to the scene and 27 people, including four children, were taken to hospitals across the city. While another 20 individuals were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Police have confirmed that a man detained is a '53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area'. The Prime Minister described 'appalling' scenes as witnesses have told of the terrifying moment the car was 'beeping' as it made its way through the crowds. According to reports, three adults and one child were trapped underneath the car, believed to be a grey Ford Galaxy registered in Chester, and had to be rescued by fire crews. A paramedic was also hit by the vehicle. Sims stressed the event is being treated as an isolated incident, and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the crash.
Harry Rashid, 48, from Solihull, was at the parade with his wife and two young daughters when he witnessed the collision. ' He said: 'It happened about 10 feet away from us. We were just in a crowd and we had no control over where we would be, because it was a very narrow street. 'The vehicle came to our right. It emerged from just right next to an ambulance, which was parked up. This grey people carrier just pulled up from the right and just rammed into all the people at the side of us. 'It was travelling south, down Water Street, straight towards this strand, which is where the docks are. 'It was extremely fast. Initially, we just heard the pop, pop, pop of people just being knocked off the bonnet of a car. Mr Rashid described how crowds began trying to smash the car windows: 'Then he stalled for a few seconds, probably about 10 seconds. Then the crowd that was a bit further back started rushing at him trying to smash his windows. 'But then he put his foot down again and just ploughed through the rest of them, he just kept going. 'It was horrible. And you could hear the bumps as he was going over the people. Chelsea Yuen witnessed the incident and told Sky News: 'It was jam packed we were like sardines and then we heard beeping and screaming. When we looked up there was a black people carrier driving straight towards us. 'Me and my friend jumped out the way and pulled our kid out the way. 'It must have been going 30mph. The windows were all smashed in by people hitting the car. 'Police riot vans on the scene. People banging on them telling police they need to do something and help. Stewards said backup was coming and all of a sudden police and ambulance come from everywhere.‘

'Al-Sharaa's grip is weak': IDF doubts Syria's control as Golan buffer zone expand
2025-05-06 | ||
[Ynet] An Israeli paratrooper from the 202nd Battalion swings open the yellow gate at the Quneitra crossing, the only passage point between Israel and Syria. He steps forward without a helmet—a sign of the relatively low threat level. Eight yards ahead, a fellow soldier opens the inner gray gate with the press of a button. Once a symbol of Syrian sovereignty, the crossing has faded. The Syrian flag that flew above the checkpoint just months ago is now tattered, and a portrait of Hafez al-Assad—the late president who negotiated a 1974 ceasefire with Israel—lies in fragments across the abandoned border post. Roughly 50 miles east, Israeli helicopters recently delivered supplies to Druze communities in As-Suwayda, and more than 20 wounded Druze have crossed into Israel for treatment. But at the border, the gunfire remains distant for now. Six months after Israeli forces entered the Syrian side of the Golan Heights without a fight, the Israel Defense Forces has tripled its deployment in the area. After an initial period of calm, two diverging realities have taken shape. In the north, about 12 to 18 miles from the border, the IDF has permitted the interim Syrian government led by Ahmad al-Sharaa to deploy local police in villages such as Khan Arnabeh, Jubata al-Khashab, and New Quneitra. The move has brought stability, and Israeli soldiers now pass through these communities en route to nine new IDF outposts constructed in Syrian territory. But in the south, near the road to Daraa, tensions are rising. The more religiously conservative Sunni population, many of whom supported the al-Qaida-linked Jabhat al-Nusra ...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
"We called in Zik drones and eliminated seven militants who posed an immediate threat," said a senior commander. "We could have neutralized 100, but we chose restraint. We didn’t want to go there." Farther east, near the old Syrian military ridgelines 11 to 12 miles from the border, Israeli forces have chosen not to take control. The IDF occasionally fires warning shots at unidentified figures approaching the abandoned posts. Al-Sharaa’s forces are not allowed to operate in this area, despite outreach from Damascus. "His regime is still fragile and lacks real control over much of Syria," a senior Israeli officer said. "The Alawite coast remains loyal to Assad, Turkish and Kurdish forces dominate the north, and Bedouin tribes hold sway in the southeast. This southwestern corner is not a high priority for Damascus." Israeli defense officials recently met with Western diplomats who visited Damascus to assess al-Sharaa’s control. "You walk into government buildings and find 50 empty offices," one European official said. "Only three or four rooms are actually staffed." Israeli intelligence estimates that al-Sharaa commands around 60,000 lightly armed fighters, most operating from pickup trucks. The IDF believes Turkey is interested in helping establish a formal army under al-Sharaa but has held back due to financial concerns, especially after Israeli operations destroyed major Assad-era weapons depots.
The IDF has quietly strengthened ties with Druze leaders on both sides of the border. Last month, senior officers met with some 60 Druze sheikhs from Israel and Syria. A proposal to allow Syrian Druze to work in the Israeli Golan has stalled, reportedly due to bureaucratic and insurance issues. On the ground, Israeli soldiers are adjusting to the new reality. In calmer northern areas, most now travel by vehicle, often without helmets. Still, a fast-moving convoy of pickup trucks from deep inside Syria could reach Kibbutz Ein Zivan in just five minutes by air, warned Lt. Col. G., operations officer for the IDF’s Golan Division. From the roof of the old Quneitra police station—a grim Soviet-style relic—Israeli soldiers now overlook new bases, reinforced shelters, and permanent infrastructure built at a cost of tens of millions of shekels. Food is trucked in from kitchens on the Israeli side of the border. At the edge of the frontier, IDF engineers are constructing a 56-mile defensive line of trenches and embankments. About 20 percent of the project is complete. During a patrol near the Syrian village of Qahtania, soldiers encountered three smiling children. One wore a shirt bearing symbols of "New Syria" and the image of Ahmad al-Sharaa. Nearby, three motorcycles seized from Syrians who approached too close to Israeli positions are parked outside an outpost flying the red flags of the Paratroopers Brigade. The riders may have been scouting troop movements. "Intelligence remains a challenge," said Lt. Col. G. "We make one or two arrests a month, but if we get actionable intel, we act immediately—with arrests or force, if needed." In Russia, Anti-terrorism exercises to be held in schools and colleges on April 29-30
2025-04-28 | |
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited. [Regnum] All-Russian anti-terrorist exercises will be held in schools, colleges, and summer recreation and health improvement organizations for children from April 29 to 30. This was reported on April 27 by the First Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Alexander Bugayev. ![]() “We, together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Russian National Guard, have planned to hold all-Russian exercises on April 29–30 to practice a comprehensive scenario for actions in the event of an emergency situation on the territory of both educational institutions and, above all, summer recreation and health organizations,” he said during a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation. The first all-Russian anti-terrorist exercises were held in August 2023. They were organized by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian National Guard, and regional authorities. Educational institutions tested the functionality of warning systems, and worked out interaction with anti-terrorist commissions and emergency services. As reported by the Regnum news agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on February 27 that the number of terrorist crimes in Russia has increased, and most of them are planned by Ukrainian special services.
In December 2024, Putin approved a new strategy for countering extremism in Russia. The document contains 72 points. According to the strategy, the most serious extremist threat will be considered the spread of neo-Nazist ideas and the creation, including in Ukraine, of radical nationalist formations that organize criminal and sabotage-terrorist acts against civilian targets and residents of Russia.

McCabe memos show how disgraced FBI leader kept Trump-Russia collusion hoax alive in 2017
2025-04-25 | |
Newly-declassified memos written by disgraced FBI official Andrew McCabe shine new light on how he kept the Trump-Russia collusion hoax investigation alive during a critical period in the first half of 2017 before he got it handed off to a special counsel. The eight memos penned by McCabe, most of which had never been released until earlier this month, span his discussions and meetings (including with President Donald Trump) held from January 24, 2017 to May 21, 2017 — a critical time period ranging from just before the FBI sprung an interview on retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn to just after Robert Mueller was appointed special counsel. The memos were more fully declassified through efforts by Trump and FBI Director Kash Patel earlier this month. McCabe was a stalwart ally of since-fired FBI Director James Comey, coordinated closely with since-fired FBI special agent Peter Strzok on the launch and the conduct of the flawed and politicized Crossfire Hurricane investigation, and relied heavily upon disgraced FBI lawyer Lisa Page as his close confidante. Pushed the Steele dossier McCabe and Comey had pushed in December 2016 to include British ex-spy Christopher Steele's debunked dossier in the body of the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment on alleged Russian meddling, but they were thwarted by the NSA and CIA. The dossier was eventually included in an annex to the assessment. By early 2017, McCabe and the FBI knew that the Steele dossier was baseless. The FBI had offered Steele an “incentive” in October 2016 of up to $1 million if he could prove the allegations in his discredited anti-Trump dossier, but the former MI6 agent was unable to back up his claims. An FBI spreadsheet from December 2016 showed nothing of any substance from the dossier could be verified. The FBI had unearthed nothing derogatory on Flynn. And an early 2017 interview of Steele’s main source — Igor Danchenko — undercut the dossier’s collusion claims. Yet despite the huge setbacks for Crossfire Hurricane, McCabe’s newly-declassified memos show how McCabe facilitated the FBI’s targeting of Flynn, met with Vice President Mike Pence and other White House officials about the Flynn allegations, refused to publicly shoot down false media stories on collusion, opened a collusion investigation into Trump himself after Comey was fired, kept the Trump-Russia investigation alive and escalated it as the acting FBI director, helped successfully push for a special counsel to take the reins, and more. McCabe did not respond to a request for comment sent to him by Just the News through his LinkedIn. January 24, 2017 — Mike Flynn’s call with McCabe McCabe created his first memo related to a discussion he had with Flynn just before he was interviewed by FBI agents on January 24, 2017. Versions of the memo were previously released with various redactions in 2019 and 2020, but the version released this month has the fewest redactions yet. The FBI had been plotting how to potentially prosecute Flynn related to his December 2016 call with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, including potentially under the Logan Act. McCabe said that “I told LTG Flynn that I had a sensitive matter to discuss. I explained that in light of the significant media coverage and public discussion about his recent contacts with Russian representatives, that Director Comey and I felt that we needed to have two of our agents sit down with the General and hear from him the details of those conversations. LTG Flynn asked if I was referring to his contacts with the Russian Ambassador to the United States, and indicated that I was.” McCabe said in his memo that Flynn explained that he had been trying to "build relationships" with the Russians, and that he had calls in which he "exchanged condolences." McCabe said Flynn then stated that McCabe probably knew what was said in these calls because "you listen to everything they say." McCabe said of his talk with Flynn that “I reiterated that in light of everything that has been said about these contacts, the important thing now was for us to hear directly from him what he said and how he felt about the conversations.” Comey later admitted in 2018 that he took advantage of the chaos in the early days of Trump’s administration when he sent FBI special agents Peter Strzok and Joseph Pientka to talk to Flynn. “I sent them,” Comey said to MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace, prompting laughter in the audience. “Something I probably wouldn’t have done or maybe gotten away with in … a more organized administration. In the George W. Bush administration, for example, or the Obama administration.” “In both of those administrations, there was process, and so, if the FBI wanted to send agents into the White House itself to interview a senior official, you would work through the White House counsel, and there’d be discussions and approvals and who would be there, and I thought, it’s early enough — let’s just send a couple guys over,” Comey added. STRZOK OVERJOYED THAT FLYNN CASE NOT CLOSED The Justice Department’s motion to dismiss the Flynn case in May 2020 stated that Strzok learned in early January 2017 that the Flynn case had not been closed despite the lack of evidence for keeping it open, and relayed the “serendipitously good” news to McCabe's special assistant Lisa Page, with whom Strzok was having an affair. Strzok remarked that “our utter incompetence actually helps us.” Strzok then instructed FBI agents to “keep it open for now” at the behest of “the 7th Floor” of the bureau. The DOJ said that “the FBI kept open its counterintelligence investigation into Mr. Flynn based solely on his calls with Kislyak — the only new information to arise since the FBI’s determination to close the case.” McCabe did not tell Flynn that he was being interviewed by the FBI as part of an investigation targeting the Trump campaign. McCabe said in his memo that “LTG Flynn questioned how so much information had been made public and asked if we thought it had been leaked” and “I replied that we were quite concerned about what we perceived as significant leaks and that we were in the process of completing a referral to the Department of Justice requesting authority to initiate a leak investigation.” McCabe said that “I further indicated that these cases were hard to prove but that we thought the significance of this situation demanded a thorough review.”

Convicted FBI lawyer spared from prison by Boasberg far more involved in Russia probe than known
2025-04-18 | ||
Convicted FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith — whom Judge James Boasberg gave a slap on the wrist for his crimes years before becoming a public foe of President Donald Trump’s deportation policies — was more deeply involved in the deeply flawed Crossfire Hurricane investigation than previously known. Clinesmith, who worked on both the FBI’s Hillary Clinton email investigation and on the Trump-Russia collusion inquiry, pleaded guilty to falsifying a document during the bureau’s efforts to renew FISA authority to wiretap Carter Page, who was an adviser to Trump's 2016 campaign. Newly-declassified details about Clinesmith’s involvement include a wide swath of information about his role in the case. He was a key go-to for former FBI lawyer Lisa Page and fired FBI special agent Peter Strzok throughout the debunked collusion saga and a main driver in obtaining a FISA warrant against Page based on the infamous Steele dossier. Clinesmith also granted his seal of approval on a document describing the FBI’s pretextual briefing of then-candidate Trump, was deeply involved in the investigation into retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, played a role in going after former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, and more. He also helped the FBI push its “Cross Wind” investigation, which Just the News can confirm related to the targeting of security expert Walid Phares, which resulted in no accusations of wrongdoing and no charges. KNEE-DEEP IN THE MUD Clinesmith confessed in August 2020 that he had manipulated a CIA email in 2017 to state that Carter Page was “not a source” for the CIA when that agency had actually told the bureau on multiple occasions that Page was in fact an “operational contact” for the CIA. Boasberg, the federal judge who is blocking Trump’s efforts to deport Venezuelan gang members, also played a key and controversial role in the aftermath of the Trump-Russia collusion saga as the leader of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. The judge, nominated to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by then-President Barack Obama in 2011, is currently engaged in an all-out legal battle with the Trump Justice Department. But in his role as the head of the FISA Court he made a number of divisive decisions, including a slap on the wrist for a member of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane team, the appointment of officials who had defended the FBI’s actions during the Russiagate saga, the renewal of the FBI’s FISA powers, and more. BOASBERG DEFENDS CLINESMITH Boasberg ruled this week that “probable cause exists” to hold Trump administration officials in criminal contempt after they violated his orders by continuing deportation flights. But his ruling follows the Supreme Court holding that Boasberg's court was in an improper venue for the case altogether. Boasberg, in his role as a federal judge, denied the Justice Department’s efforts to seek up to six months behind bars for Clinesmith, who pleaded guilty in Special Counsel John Durham’s Trump-Russia investigation — instead giving Clinesmith a year of probation, 400 hours of community service, and no fine.
