US declines to comment on India's involvement in killing of Pakistani nationals
2024-01-26 | |
[GEO.TV] Pakistan has "credible evidence" for Indian agents' link to the killings of two of its citizens on Pakistani soil, Foreign Secretary Syrus Qazi said Thursday, exposing the “sophisticated and sinister” Indian campaign of extra-territorial and extra-judicial killings. The statement comes months after both Canada and the United States separately accused Indian agents of being linked to assassination attempts on their soil. However, New Delhi has rejected Ottawa's allegations and has launched an investigation into Washington’s claims. "These are killings-for-hire cases involving a sophisticated international set-up spread over multiple jurisdictions," Foreign Secretary Syrus Qazi told reporters during a press conference in Islamabad. Already strained by historical baggage and border disputes, Islamabad and New Delhi's ties hit new lows after 2016's Kulbushan Yadav spy arrest and the 2019 revocation of Indian Illegal Occupied Jammu and Kashmir's (IIOJK) special status. The Kashmir move, a blatant violation of international laws, froze diplomacy and choked trade between the two adjoining countries. Pakistan has, for more than four years, conditioned restoring ties with its nuclear neighbour to the restoration of IIOJK’s special status. Pakistan says Indian agents involved in killing of two citizens on its soil [GEO.TV] The US State Department on Thursday declined to comment on India’s involvement in the murder of two Pak nationals in Sialkot and Rawalakot in 2023. Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi made the revelation earlier today in a presser, where he said that Shahid Latif was assassinated outside a mosque in Sialkot on October 11 while Muhammad Riaz was "assassinated during Fajr prayers inside a mosque in Rawalakot on September 8. He said that the law enforcement agencies have apprehended the button mans'>button men involved in the liquidation attempts and the investigations confirmed New Delhi’s hand into these murders. When asked for a response comment on the pressing matter, a US State Department spokesperson declined to comment. "I would refer you to Pak authorities on this and have nothing further to add," the official said in an email response to Geo.tv. "Today, Pakistain said that they have arrested Indian agents allegedly involved in the killing of two Pak nationals on its soil in a similar fashion as a Sikh leader was assassinated in Canada," he was asked. The query had also mentioned the Indian attempts to assassinate a US national on its soil. However, you can observe a lot just by watching... the government of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi rejected Ottawa's allegations and has launched an investigation into Washington’s claims. A Glance at Afghanistan’s Security Situation in 2023 |
2024-01-09 |
[KhaamaPress] Following the collapse of the republic and the rise of the Taliban ...Arabic for students... regime, Afghanistan has not been a battleground for direct confrontations, but security is still considered a critical issue. Key security concerns in 2023 include activities of some terrorist groups, extrajudicial killings, targeting civilians, targeted liquidations, and arbitrary arrests. The activity and attacks of ISIS and other terrorist groups in Afghanistan, particularly targeting Afghan Shiites, have been a major concern for organizations and regional countries over the past year. However, if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning... the Taliban has consistently denied the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan and assured their complete suppression. The UN Security Council convened in August this year to assess ISIS threats globally, including Afghanistan, expressing concern over the presence and activities of ISIS there. According to a UN Security Council report, around 20 terrorist groups are active in Afghanistan, with estimates indicating that the number of ISIS fighters in the country ranges between four to six thousand. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN and the rotating President of the Security Council, noted that ISIS has grabbed credit for deadly attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistain. She emphasized that Afghanistan must not become a safe haven for terrorists, including al-Qaeda and the Khorasan branch of ISIS. It is noteworthy that in the past year, ethnic and religious minorities such as Hazara ...a grouping of Dari-speaking people of Sino-Tibetan descent inhabiting Afghanistan and Pakistain. They are predominantly Shia Moslems and not particularly warlike, which makes them favored targets... s, Shiites, and religious scholars in mosques, sports venues, and public places have been targeted by ISIS attacks. Reports indicate that attacks throughout the past year have resulted in 39 deaths and 87 injuries on specific dates in different locations across Afghanistan. Additionally, 11 other civilians, including four Shia religious scholars, were murdered in November 2023, prompting widespread international reactions. Taliban administration, including Dawood Muzammil from Balkh, Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi from Badakhshan, and Safiullah Samim from Baghlan, have been targeted and killed by ISIS in 2023. A global research center on the responsibility to protect indicates that from August 15, 2021, to May 2023, there have been casualties due to ISIS attacks in Afghanistan. However, if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning... UN statistics show that from November 14, 2022, to November 2023, there have been 40 ISIS attacks, including three unclaimed incidents. While the Taliban has denied claims of extrajudicial killings and violence against former military personnel, UNAMA has documented hundreds of human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... violations, including murder, torture, threats, and arrests of previous government officials and military personnel from August 15, 2021, to June 30, 2023. A human rights organization named "Rawadari" reported that in the first six months of 2023, approximately 355 people (299 men, 33 women, and 10 children), mostly opposed to the ruling government in Afghanistan, were killed and 161 others injured in various incidents. The report reveals that 220 people were mysteriously murdered, 85 were maimed, 222, including 23 women across sixteen provinces, were arbitrarily arrested, and over 10 others were forcibly disappeared during this period. Meanwhile, ...back at the pound, the little lost dog backed into the corner and showed its teeth. And what big teeth they were!... Mullah Yaqoob Mujahid, acting Minister of Defense of the Taliban government, claimed in a presser in Kabul that foreigners, including nationals of Tajikistan and Pakistain, are involved in attacks on mosques, shrines, religious scholars, and public gatherings in Afghanistan. While the Taliban has assured internal security in Afghanistan and the security of its borders, Pak security forces reported conducting over 18,000 intelligence operations in 2023, resulting in the killing of at least 566 terrorists, with most attacks organized from within Afghanistan. Border tensions between Afghanistan and neighboring countries have been a significant security concern over the past year, prompting authorities from neighboring countries to engage in discussions with Afghanistan. While the chief of the Taliban’s army reported the establishment of 600 border checkpoints with neighboring countries, authorities from neighboring countries have also emphasized border security with Afghanistan. Several border conflicts between Iranian and Pak border guards have been reported in the past year. |

India requests Pakistan to extradite Hafiz Saeed in 'so-called money laundering case' |
2023-12-30 |
[GEO.TV] India has requested Pakistain to extradite Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, the chief of the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa ...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba... (JuD), the Foreign Office confirmed Friday. "Pakistain has received a request from the Indian authorities, seeking extradition of Hafiz Saeed ...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat. He is periodically placed under house arrest so it looks like the govt is doing something. Once the heat is off they let him go.... in a so-called money laundering case," Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said in a statement. However, there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly... there might be no plans to follow up on India’s request, as according to the spokesperson, "no bilateral extradition treaty exists between Pakistain and India". India blames Saeed for being involved in attacks across the borders, however, the chief of the banned outfit has denied all claims. A Pak court had sentenced Hafiz Saeed, founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba ...the Army of the Pure,an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI... (LeT), the gang blamed by the United States and India for the deadly 2008 Mumbai siege, to 31 years in prison in two cases of terrorism financing. An anti-terrorism court in Lahore had found Saeed guilty of terrorism financing in April 2022 and sentenced him to 32 years in jail. Hours before Zahra’s confirmation, India had also confirmed it had formally requested Pakistain to extradite Saeed, according to India's foreign ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi. "We have conveyed a request along with relevant supporting documents to the Government of Pakistain," Bagchi told news hounds in a media briefing. Saeed conviction in 2022 was not the only one. Arrested in 2019, he was already serving a 15-year sentence after being found guilty of terror financing in 2020. Saeed, who was put behind bars many times before over the past decade, denies being involved with armed operations, including the 2008 attacks in Mumbai, which killed 166 people. NIA raids 8 places in Jammu and Kashmir in terror funding case |
2023-12-17 |
December 5 [GreaterKashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... ] The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted raids at eight locations in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a terror funding case. The raids are still underway in close coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) at seven locations in Kashmir and one in Jammu, said sources privy to the development. The agency sleuths are carrying out these raids at Shopian and Baramulla, among other areas. The places searched included the residents and other hideouts of the suspects linked to the case. The raids were conducted days after the central agency arrested an accused in the Pakistain-backed terrorism case involving the delivery of weapons through drones to snuffies active in Kashmir. The agency had shared the input on November 29 after a team from the NIA Jammu Branch nabbed 22-year-old namely Zakir Hussain of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on November 27. He was the eight accused to be arrested in the case registered by the NIA on July 30 last year after taking over the case from Kathua Police. One of the seven accused arrested earlier had died due to cardiac arrest while in judicial custody while two Pakistain-based terror operatives are absconding. NIA is continuing with its investigations in the matter to unravel the bigger conspiracy of Pakistain-backed terrorist groups to carry out acts of terror and violence in the Kashmir valley and across India. Hezbollah claims responsibility for rocket fired at northern Israeli community; no injuries reported [IsraelTimes] Lebanese terror group Hezbollah claims responsibility for firing a Katyusha rocket from southern Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... at the northern Israeli community of Dishon tonight, Ynet reports. There are no reports of injuries or damage. Sirens sounded in Dishon, close to the Lebanon border, earlier. Channel 12 reports that several impact sites were observed in unpopulated areas.

[GEO.TV] Pakistain Moslem League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif ...served on Saturday said he was wrongfully punished without any reason, slamming the judges who were involved in issuing verdicts against them. "What was the need to conspire against us? What was the need for the judges to give a decision against us?" said Nawaz during a workers' convention in Sialkot. The representative of millions of people was tossed by the "Gang of Five" (retired Gen Bajwa, retired Lt Gen Faiz, Imran Khan ...aka The Great Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality disorders... , Saqib Nisar, and Asif Saeed Khosa)", said the three-time prime minister. "Our government was abolished without any reason," he said. The veteran politician emphasised learning a lesson from the past, or else Pakistain's story would not be among those of other nations. The PML-N supremo complained about the country's decline since 2017 — the year when he was removed from power — and said the rupee was stronger back when his party was in power. "There was no such thing as inflation in 2017." Nawaz further said that he was replaced by someone (PTI Chairman Imran Khan) who only knows how to verbally abuse others, questioning why was there electoral manipulation in 2018 and why the Results Transmission System (RTS) was made inoperational. "This person (Imran) destroyed our culture and society and we cannot hand over our country to such people," said the PML-N supremo, adding that even though injustice was done to them, they never acted against the interest of the country. "Whatever happened to the country in the last 70 years should never happen to another nation," he added. Nawaz further said that those who brought Imran as a leader of this country are equally responsible as much as him. Fazl seldom misses a meal and is now so large he has his own gravitational pull on Thursday, with the approval of party chairman Imran Khan ...aka The Great Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree... For years now, Imran has targeted Fazl — and vice versa — and both are considered arch-foes. Fazl's party was also part of the coalition government and helped remove Imran from power last year. Talking to journalists after the meeting in Islamabad, PTI's big shot Asad Qaiser said: "Everyone, including the PTI chairman, had approved of this meeting." "Today, we came to offer our condolences [over the demise of Fazl's mother-in-law], this is our culture. We did not discuss politics in the meeting," said Qaiser who is a staunch supporter of Imran and a former speaker of the National Assembly. In early 1994, India incarcerated him for his activities. In 1995, foreign tourists were kidnapped in Jammu and Kashmir. The kidnappers included his release among their demands. One of the hostages managed to escape but the rest were eventually killed. In 1999, he was freed by the Indian government in exchange for passengers on hijacked Indian Airlines Flight 814 that had been diverted to Kandahar. The hijackers were led by Masood Azhar's brother, Ibrahim Athar. Once he was handed over to the hijackers, they fled to Pak territory despite the fact that Islamabad had earlier stated that any of the hijackers would be jugged at the border. The Pak government had also previously indicated that Azhar would be allowed to return home since he did not face any charges there. Shortly after his release, he made a public address to an estimated 10,000 people in Karachi, firing up the rubes against America and India... , was rubbed out on Pakistain soil by unknown button men, reports said. Unknown, you say? That most certainly wouldn’t be RAW then. Good to know. Daily Evacuation Brief | September 23, 2023 [AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
NEXT 24 HOURS IRANIAN POLICE ENFORCING NEW HIJAB LAW – Some reports out of Iran suggest that over 500 women have been arrested for violations of the Hijab law. A source in Tehran said that orders had come down late on Wednesday night from the Ministry of the Interior to ‘make an example’ of women who may be flaunting the law. Police and militia were advised verbally to do so in public spaces for maximum effect. The majority of the arrests have taken place in Tehran and near University campuses. At-risk Afghans in Iran are advised to observe the law so as not to draw unwanted attention to themselves. With the announcement of the passage of the stricter new Hijab laws recently, it appears likely that security forces will prioritize enforcement over the coming days. CONFLICT TRACKER Kabul: An attack by an unidentified Resistance group in the 17th Police District of Kabul reportedly claimed the lives of 3 Taliban fighters while wounding an additional 3 yesterday evening. NEXT 24 HOURS RUMORS THE TALIBAN MAY BE TARGETING HAZARAS IN BAMYAN PROVINCE – Several photos and reports appeared on social media over the last twenty-four hours that showed what looks like deep trenches that have been excavated along roadways and around the town. The reports say the barriers were made to block Hazaras from entering or leaving the villages. This information has not yet been confirmed but seems to be a fairly extreme method of impeding travel and may suggest that further action is planned. There has been no explanation for the actions or what may have caused local Taliban leaders to take such drastic measures. |
