Connecticut follows Minnesota in first step to normalize pedophilia
[Hot Air] This is very disturbing.

It turns out that Minnesota isn’t the only state where the Democrats are determined to normalize pedophilia. Connecticut, too, is taking steps to redefine its Human Rights laws to eliminate restrictions on the definition of "sexual orientation" to include paraphilias that are so offensive that legislators specifically banned their consideration for inclusion in protected classes.

The Family Institute of Connecticut caught the sly changes to the law, which lay the groundwork for including pedophilia as a state-recognized sexual orientation worthy of protection.

As with Minnesota, the changes do not legalize pedophilic acts—it is, thankfully, going to remain illegal for adults to rape children. However, being a "Minor Attracted Person" is no longer sufficient to exclude you from polite society, and may even entitle one to special protections from the state.
Apologies to Caligula, formerly known as the Roman emperor Gaius. A man ahead of his time.

'Brutal Minds': The devastating damage neo-Marxism has wrought in education
[Hot Air] At one point, the American higher education system aspired to that nomenclature — higher education. It largely followed classical thought, Enlightenment principles, and at the same time allowed for a broad range of views, perspectives, and and freedom of thought. Until very recently, a college degree signified a higher plane of intellectual heft and readiness for success in American and international markets.

Within just a couple of generations, however, the American system of higher education transformed itself into a base indoctrination system for a system of thought so narrow that Dr. Stanley Ridgely likens it to a cult. American Academia brooks no debate, punishes dissenters with the passion reserved for heretics and apostates in religious cults, and instills a neo-Marxist party line rather than deliver the broad and textured education that parents still expect when they send their young men and women to college.

In the preface to his new book Brutal Minds: The Dark World of Left-Wing Brainwashing in Our Universities (also on Barnes & Noble), Dr. Ridgely offers a gloomy assessment of just what that investment delivers in today’s Academia:

Government Corruption
The Unspoken Warning In The Durham Report: American Self-Government Is Collapsing
[Federalist] Yesterday in these pages Margot Cleveland rightly noted that the most damning finding in the 306-page report from Special Counsel John Durham is not necessarily the FBI’s scandalous Crossfire Hurricane investigation of the Trump campaign in 2016, but that the egregious abuses of power detailed in the report cannot be remedied "absent a curing of the corrupted hearts and minds of law enforcement and intelligence agencies."

For all the FBI’s blatant partisanship, its disregard of exculpatory evidence, and its outright deception to secure FISA warrants on Trump campaign associates, writes Cleveland, "what should terrify the country is not the catalog of malfeasance the special counsel recited — for mistakes and even gross failures can be corrected — but that Durham warned of corrupted hearts and minds, unfaithful to the people and their Constitution."

For his part, Durham didn’t recommend any changes to FBI guidelines or policies, because no amount of reform will be sufficient if the people in charge feel free to disregard guidelines and policies whenever they see fit to do so. As such, wrote Durham, "the answer is not the creation of new rules but a renewed fidelity to the old. The promulgation of additional rules and regulations to be learned in yet more training sessions would likely prove to be a fruitless exercise if the FBI’s guiding principles of ’Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity’ are not engrained in the hearts and minds of those sworn to meet the FBI’s mission of ’Protect[ing] the American People and uphold[ing] the Constitution of the United States.’"

Durham is right, as is Cleveland. The abuse of power laid out in the report is terrifying, not just because what the FBI undertook in 2016 amounted to an attempted coup, but because it’s unclear how to prevent it from happening again. Indeed, we saw the same kind of abuse of power at play in 2020 when active and former CIA officials saw fit to interfere in the election by soliciting signatures for a letter designed to quash the Hunter Biden laptop story. There is every reason to believe that these kinds of abuses will happen again in 2024, and in every future presidential election.

‘Target On Their Backs': Ex-FBI Agent Explains Why More Feds Don't Speak Up About Abuses
[Daily Caller] Former FBI agent Nicole Parker said Thursday many FBI agents do not speak up about abuses by the agency because it would put a "target on their backs."

"I watched it very closely because I was just in their shoes in February when I testified before the same committee. You know, I understand their security clearances were pulled," Parker told Fox News host Martha MacCallum. "I don’t know the exact details of that, but I know without a security clearance as an FBI agent, you can’t do your job. When you feel like your security clearance is being pulled because it’s the FBI’s way or the highway, that’s not a good position to be in." (RELATED: Dem Rep Accuses FBI Whistleblower Of Using Weaponization Hearing To Promote His New Book: ’Financial Exploitation’)

Parker testified during a Feb. 9 hearing of the House Judiciary Committee’s Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government about how she believed the agency became "politically weaponized."

Garrett O’Boyle, Stephen Friend and Marcus Allen testified at a hearing held by the select subcommittee Thursday about retaliation they faced after they raised concerns about FBI activities, noting their security clearances had been suspended, resulting in them losing their pay and health benefits.

"I want to ask you something, just a rhetorical question: Have you ever seen a whistle-blower who is a rank and file agent, who is not a rank and file agent, excuse me? Ever seen an executive from the FBI come forward? Ever see somebody in a management position come forward?" Parker asked.

"There are rank and file agents and I’m telling you there’s current and former employees that feel exactly the same as these whistle-blowers feel that testified today. They feel the same I do. They don’t feel they’re at the liberty to speak up because they need the pension," Parker said. "They’ve worked hard... in their career. They deserve that pension. They don’t want the target on their back. Look what has happened to many people who have spoken up. There’s retaliation. It’s uncomfortable for their families. It ruins their families’ lives. Can you blame them?"

#2  That's a real shame, being targeted by sleazy bosses and all and we're all real, real sorry for you.

The equation is actually quite simple. A moment of COL Travis clarity you might say. You either are loyal to the Law as it is written or the caprice and whim of your superiors.

This isn't a case of 'Lt's and CPT's ought not horse the Sgt Maj around during coffee time'. This about the Law pure and simple.

Somebody somewhere, God only knows he's not to found in that DC sewer, needs to give this some thought. Is this really the kind of country you want to live in? Because bureaucratic consideration or not Americans are not stupid. Law selectively applied is no Law at all.

Voila, you enter the world of extra legal solutions. Such invisible social lines are maintained by cooperation and sustaining beliefs. Once crossed they are historically not easily regained.

So, I guess they need to quit their bitching and make a damned decision. Don't worry we will all still be watching.

The US Followed a Policy of Foreign Intervention Long before World War II
[MISES] In history classes (in public or private schools, colleges, and others), state propaganda, and mainstream history, a historical fiction has been spun that allegedly debunks any notion of noninterventionism. This is the myth of American isolationism.

The assertion usually goes that America was extremely isolationist prior to World War I and had no interest in involving itself in unnecessary warfare. After the Zimmermann telegram was sent, America was then forced to enter the war, quickly ended the war, and promptly withdrew from meddling with the outside world, even refusing to enter the League of Nations. America then spent the next two decades in isolation, foolishly ignoring the world stage until being unexpectedly attacked by Japan.

Variations exist, but this is the general reasoning pushed by the State Department, the Council on Foreign Relations, and Wikipedia. I also distinctly remember hearing that line of reasoning in multiple history classes going back to when I was in the seventh grade.
The MISES graphic is telling.

Adam Schiff in PANIC Mode – Pink Slip Imminent?
[Next News] In a stunning move that has rocked Capitol Hill, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has introduced a resolution to expel Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) from Congress. The fiery Congresswoman’s move comes only days after the Durham report concluded that the Trump-Russia probe never should have been opened. Furious at Schiff’s repeated claims of having "abundance" of evidence of "collusion" — despite all evidence to the contrary — Luna has called for an ethics investigation into Schiff’s misconduct.

#4  Feh - VIP

I haven’t paid, but can read the whole thing, KBK. Here is Dennis Prager’s opening:

One of the most remarkable laws in the Bible is in the Book of Deuteronomy: “Do not hate an Egyptian.” It is remarkable because it was given to the generation of Israelites that had just been liberated from slavery in Egypt.

Imagine.

A people who had been enslaved for hundreds of years, and for a period of time had their newborn sons drowned, was instructed — by Moses in the name of God, no less — not to hate the people who had just enslaved them.

This is one of many examples why America’s Founders regarded the Bible as the most important book ever written. According to one historian who studied the issue, the book the Founders quoted most often — more often than any Enlightenment book, more often than any Greek or Roman work — was Deuteronomy, the biblical book in which the law prohibiting hatred of Egyptians appears.

It is difficult to think of a law more relevant to today’s America.

Imagine if the country — especially, though not only, black Americans — adopted this law and substituted “white” for “Egyptian.” Imagine the effect on America if every church, every school, every editorial page and every Democrat repeatedly told Americans, “Do not hate whites.”

Almost overnight, the gratuitous hatreds wrecking our country would begin to disappear.
