IBM, Disney, EU pull ads from X as concerns over antisemitism fuel backlash
[IsraelTimes] Advertisers are fleeing social media platform X over concerns about their ads showing up next to pro-Nazi content and hate speech on the site in general, with billionaire owner Elon Musk inflaming tensions with his own tweets endorsing an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

IBM said this week that it stopped advertising on X after a report said its ads were appearing alongside material praising Nazis — a fresh setback as the platform formerly known as Twitter tries to win back big brands and their ad dollars, X’s main source of revenue.

The liberal advocacy group Media Matters said in a report Thursday that ads from Apple, Oracle, NBCUniversal’s Bravo network and Comcast also were placed next to antisemitic material on X. The group on Friday added Disney, Lionsgate Entertainment, and Paramount Global to its list of companies pausing advertising on X.

...Musk sparked outcry this week with his own tweets responding to a user who accused Jews of hating white people and professing indifference to antisemitism. "You have said the actual truth," Musk tweeted in a reply Wednesday.
All because Israel wouldn't let him push his Starlink in Gaza.

George Washington University suspends Students for Justice in Palestine; after OSU attacks gov sends extra cops
[IsraelTimes] George Washington University has suspended Students for Justice in Paleostine for at least 90 days, making it the third US college to curtail the group’s operations this month.

A new pro-Paleostinian student group has already been announced and is staging a rally to support the suspended SJP chapter.

George Washington University made international headlines last month when members of the pro-Paleostinian student group screened anti-Israel messages including "Glory To Our Martyrs," "Divestment From Zionist Genocide Now" and "Free Paleostine From The River To The Sea" on the outer wall of the Gelman Library, named for two prominent local Jewish figures.

University president Ellen Granberg said the next day that the projections were antisemitic and violated university policy. Now, administrators say an investigation confirmed the violations and the group would be suspended as a result.

"The university determined that SJP’s actions violated university policies, including the Gelman Building Use Guidelines and the university’s policy against non-compliance, as SJP initially refused to comply with university officials’ directives to end the projections," the administration said in a statement issued Monday.

"As a result, effective immediately, the university has prohibited SJP from participating in activities on campus."

The group will not be able sponsor or organize on-campus activities or use any university facilities for at least the next 90 days. It also cannot post communications on university property until May 20, 2024, the end of the school year.

The suspension adds GWU to a growing list of schools where SJP has been reined in.

The national SJP organization praised Hamas’s October 7 attack, causing an array of Jewish groups and politicians to press universities to stop funding the group’s local chapters.

On Nov. 6, Brandeis University permanently banned Students for Justice in Paleostine, saying the group "openly supports Hamas."

Last week, Columbia University suspended both Students for Justice in Paleostine and Jewish Voice for Peace for violating university policies and expressing "threatening rhetoric and intimidation."

In addition, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida ordered public universities in that state to "deactivate" SJP chapters, though state officials said last week that had not happened.

Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, speaking at a House Boodle Central hearing Wednesday afternoon, praised universities that had cracked down on their SJP chapters.

"Now we have seen some administrators step up," Greenblatt said. "Today GW announced that they are suspending the SJP chapter for violating the conduct code at GW. It happened last week at Columbia University. At Brandeis they actually expelled them. But I don’t think there should be a place on any campus for organizations like SJP that threaten people based on their ethnicity or faith or nationality."

SJP members at George Washington University told the GW Hatchet student newspaper that they saw the crackdown on their chapter as part of a disturbing trend.

"We see this very clearly as being a political response to a growing wave of backlash and repression towards Paleostinian organizing, but specifically the Paleostinian student movement that’s been happening the past few weeks," a student representative told the newspaper under the condition of anonymity, citing the risk of harassment.

Pro-Paleostinian students at George Washington have already announced the formation of a new group, the Student Coalition for Paleostine, which says it is a "coalition of student organizations struggling towards the liberation of Paleostine and an end to GW’s complicity in genocide and settler colonialism."
How terribly clever of them.
The Student Coalition for Paleostine is organizing a protest on Wednesday in solidarity with SJP, demanding that the university reinstate the suspended group.

"We stand against Zionist intimidation tactics. We stand against the repression of the growing student movement against the ongoing genocide in Gaza. We demand that GW reinstate SJP immediately," the new group wrote in a social media post calling on supporters to bring face coverings and noisemakers to a rally at the heart of the school’s Washington, DC campus.

Jews attacked at OSU a week ago, Gov DeWine ordered extra police patrols

[IsraelTimes] The governor of Ohio ordered extra law enforcement patrols around Ohio State University campus last week after a 24-hour period in which two Jewish students were reported assaulted and student activists attempted to steal Israeli flags from the campus Hillel.

The heightened tensions at one of the country’s largest universities are the latest example of how activism over Israel has intensified on college campuses amid the country’s ongoing war with Hamas

Strip that erupted with the terror group’s devastating massacres in Israel that killed 1,200 people last month. Donors, Jewish groups and politicians have pushed institutions of higher education to take more forceful action to deter antisemitism and protect Jewish students, as Jews have been threatened or assaulted on campuses including Cornell, Columbia, and the University of Massachusetts.

The assault of the Jewish students occurred early on Friday morning, according to the Columbus Jewish News. Two people leaving a bar engaged in a "verbal altercation" with "two Middle Eastern males" who punched them in the face, Columbus police told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, adding that the suspects fled on foot while the victims took an Uber to the hospital.

The suspects had reportedly uttered the words "K—e Zionist" and asked the victims what their religion was. "Both victims believe this to be a hate crime," Columbus Police Department spokesperson Sergeant Joe Albert told JTA in a statement. Albert did not indicate whether the police department would be prosecuting it as a hate crime.

Hours earlier, on Thursday, OSU Hillel reported that two female students had entered the building and stolen several small Israeli flags. When Hillel staff confronted them, they raced out of the building yelling "F—k you," "You support genocide" and "Free Paleostine," Columbus police told JTA.

The staff alerted law enforcement and has a video recording of the students responsible, OSU Hillel CEO Naomi Lamb said in a statement posted to social media Friday. Lamb added that she would push the school’s administration "to clearly and unequivocally condemn this attack on the center of Jewish life at OSU."

In an email to the campus community later on Friday, acting OSU President Peter Mohler condemned both incidents. Mohler wrote that they "directly targeted our Jewish community" and indicated the university would be treating them as hate crimes.

"I want to be direct and clear — the university has no tolerance for acts of hatred or violence. Antisemitism is despicable and has no place in our community," Mohler wrote. "The university will pursue all action possible against anyone committing hate crimes on or near our campus."

Ohio GOP Governor Mike DeWine said in his own statement about the incidents that he was ordering the extra police patrols to campus.

"Two antisemitic incidents have occurred in the past 24 hours against Ohio State students," he said in the statement. "We will not tolerate hate and violence on our college campuses or anywhere in Ohio. These are despicable acts, and as Governor, I will ensure that the State continues our efforts to protect all Ohio students."

#3  So again GWU addresses their campus Domestic Terrorist Students at the Group level. But, what about the individual students and leaders in the group themselves?

These Anti-Semitic students have Violated:
* The GWU mandatory Code of Student Conduct.
* The GWU Statement of Student Rights & Responsibilities.
* The GWU Freedom from Unlawful Discrimination Campus Rule.

GWU Student Rules that clearly call for punishment ranging from Suspension to a students Expulsion.

Also where is the DOJ/FBI/ACLU? Since there has been a clear violation of 18 U.S. Code § 249 - The Hate Crime Acts?

A historical reminder.
GWU has previously addressed Anti-Semitic issues at the same high Group level in the recent past (eg). "July 25, 2023 - Middle East Studies Association Expelled From George Washington University".

But it seems GWU has yet to address the individual Student responsibility yet!

UK Labour leader faces rebellion after refusing to back vote for Gaza ceasefire
[IsraelTimes] 56 Labour MPs back ceasefire call, which is defeated nonetheless; 8 members of Keir Starmer’s frontbench team resign in protest at his stance; he urges longer ’humanitarian pauses’.

Starmer — who looks set to become Britannia’s next prime minister at an election expected next year, according to polling — has refused to call for a permanent ceasefire. A centrist who rooted out antisemitism in Labour, which ran rampant under his left-wing pro-Paleostinian predecessor Jeremy Corbyn, Starmer has said he would push for a two-state solution if elected to government.

In a shift, Jewish lawmakers Ossoff, Balint and Phillips ramp up criticism on Israel's conduct
The “Yes, but” Jewish Democrats start to unhelpfully rear up on their hind legs.
[Jpost] In the span of two days, one Jewish lawmaker became the first to call on Israel to join a ceasefire, another called the Palestinian death toll “unacceptable” and a third said Israel’s conduct was a “moral failure.’

The 35 Jews in the U.S. House of Representatives and in the Senate — all but two of them Democrats — have been among the most stalwart in defending Israel since Hamas’ October 7 massacres launched the war. Last month, three Jewish lawmakers, including two progressives, spearheaded a letter from more than half of House Democrats supporting President Joe Biden’s robust backing for Israel.
That’s “robust”. But do go on...
All 24 Jewish Democrats in the House signed it.

Now — as the war enters its sixth week, the Palestinian death toll rises and the humanitarian crisis intensifies — anguished expressions of dissent from Reps. Becca Balint
... (D - J Street). It must have seared her soul to have to stand with Israel this long...
of Vermont and Dean Phillips
...the first Democrat to win his district since 1958, he’s complained that it’s hard to be Jewish in the Democratic party nowadays, especially as he hates Bibi Netanyahu...
of Minnesota, and Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia, suggest that wall of support might be crumbling.

Phillips, Ossoff and Balint each said that the massacres Hamas carried out, killing 1,200 people and taking more than 200 captive, recalled the horrors of the Holocaust. “These events call to mind the Einsatzgruppen SS, the Nazi death squads who hunted and massacred our relatives across Eastern Europe 80 years ago,” Ossoff said on the Senate floor.

But they said they have been haunted by the subsequent carnage, in which the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry has said that more than 11,000 Palestinians have died, including thousands of children. It’s not known how many among that number are combatants, and how many among the dead were victims of misfired rockets aimed at Israel.

On Thursday, Balint became the first Jewish member of Congress to endorse a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.

“What is needed right now is an immediate break in violence to allow for a true negotiated ceasefire,” she said in an op-ed for VTigger, a Vermont news site. “One in which both sides stop the bloodshed, allow critical access to humanitarian aid and move towards negotiating a sustainable and lasting peace.”

ISRAEL OPPONENTS SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat who is a leader of the “Squad,” the most left-wing faction in the House, immediately seized upon Balint’s support, noting her Jewish identity.

“Rep. Becca Balint is now the first Jewish member of Congress to come out in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “She is incredibly brave, taking a stance rooted in her commitment to human rights and protection of the innocent.”

Balint’s appeal differs in some ways from the ceasefire promotion that Ocasio-Cortez champions, in two substantive ways: Ocasio-Cortez this week spearheaded a letter to Biden urging him to press Israel into a ceasefire. Balint’s appeal was to Israel, and not to Biden to exert pressure on Israel.

Balint also said in her op-ed that a condition of a ceasefire must be the removal of Hamas from power — which is Israel’s objective in the war.

“A lasting bilateral cease-fire can only work if Hamas does not continue to rule in Gaza,” she wrote. “Hamas is a terrorist organization, and its stated goal is to annihilate the state of Israel. It can’t remain in power in Gaza.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s letter, which got 24 signatures, makes no such condition.

Later in the day, Ossoff took to the Senate floor to excoriate Israel’s conduct. He did not call for a ceasefire — he said Israel must pursue Hamas. But he was unstinting in his criticism of Israel’s conduct of the war and its resistance to Biden Administration pleas to allow in humanitarian assistance.

“The extent of civilian death and suffering in Gaza is unnecessary,” he said. “It is a moral failure and it should be unacceptable to the United States.”

“Requests by the United States that the Israeli leadership conduct a more targeted campaign, that they permit and provide a safe passage for aid essential to the sustenance of innocent life, that they clearly define objectives, that they prevent extrajudicial killings by extremists in the West Bank, that they present a credible plan for Gaza’s future governance have mostly been ignored,” Ossoff said.

He raised the specter of conditioning U.S. defense assistance to Israel on its compliance. “I do not accept that the total deprivation of millions of innocent civilians is necessary for Israel to secure its objectives or in the national interest of the United States, and where the United States is committing arms funds and support to those efforts, we must guard our principles and our interests,” he said.

On Friday, Phillips, who is mounting a long-shot primary challenge to Biden and is known for his moderate positions, released a statement outlining his vision for a way out of the war that did not spare Israel or its leadership. He too called on Israel to dismantle Hamas’ fighting capacity.

“Israel has every right and expectation to target Hamas terrorists and dismantle their capability of destroying the state of Israel,” he said. “But that response has taken an unacceptable toll on Palestinians, many of whom are subject to Hamas terror — not supporters of it.”

He took aim in particular at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who he said had “exacerbated” policies of “repression and illegal settlement on Palestinian lands.” He said Israelis should hold elections soon. Netanyahu also has low approval ratings within Israel.

Phillips presented a five-point plan to create a “future of peace.” The document was notable considering Phillips has been a leader in Congress in terms of calling out fellow Democrats for Israel criticism that he believed was antisemitic.

Until now the only Jewish Democrat forcefully criticizing Israel’s response has been Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, the unofficial leader of congressional progressives. But he has refused to call for a ceasefire and has distanced himself from fellow progressive who do.

The shifts by Jewish lawmakers comes amid accelerating volleys of sentiment by people in and close to the U.S. government. Hundreds of Biden administration staffers have signed statements criticizing the administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war and calling for Biden to do more to support the Palestinians, the New York Times reported this week.

Also this week, more than 100 former staffers for Barack Obama issued a letter praising Biden’s “moral clarity” for backing Israel and endorsing his request for a $14 billion emergency assistance package to Israel.

Strip, the US Treasury Department said.

The snuffies rampaged across southern communities on October 7, killing around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, in their homes and at a music festival, and abducting at least 240 people to the Gaza Strip. Israel subsequently declared war on Hamas, vowing to eliminate its military infrastructure and government in the enclave.

The US Department of State designated Akram al-Ajouri as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist for being a leader of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terror group.

Ajouri is the PIJ deputy secretary general and leader of its al-Quds Brigade military wing.

The US Treasury Department also designated seven individuals and two entities that have provided support to or acted on behalf of Hamas or PIJ, including Paleostinian Islamic Jihad’s representative to Iran, Nasser Abu Sharif, as well as a Leb

The British sanctions also announced Tuesday targeted four Hamas big turbans and two financiers.

said.

Last month, the US announced it was aiming to build an international coalition to target the financing of Hamas.

According to the US Treasury, the Paleostinian terror group’s global asset holdings are estimated to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

"The United States will continue to work with our partners, including the UK, to deny Hamas the ability to raise and use funds to carry out its atrocities," US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in a statement.

Most of the international funding for the Gazook terror groups comes from Iran, which has sponsored Hamas with some $100 million annually and the PIJ to the tune of tens of millions, according to Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

Hamas has also received over $1.5 billion in disbursements from Qatar

over the past decade. The funds are officially aimed at covering salaries for public workers, fuel purchases, and transfers to poor families, but the terror group deducts part of the payments and keeps it for its own operations.

The White House has said it has yet to uncover information that Iran, the principal financial and military sponsor of Hamas, was directly involved in the multipronged Hamas operation against Israel.

Oh. So really he is assisting the authorities with their enquiries, as opposed to being held for trial — the other definition of police arrest. But with this they hope to shut up those hypersensitive Jews and those who dare think them as human as anyone.
Paul Kessler, 69, died early November 6 at a hospital following a November 5 confrontation with a pro-Paleostinian demonstrator in Thousand Oaks, a suburb northwest of Los Angeles.

Sheriff Jim Fryhoff said subsequently that deputies determined Kessler had fallen backward and struck his head on the ground. The pro-Paleostinian demonstrator stayed at the scene and told deputies he had called 911, Fryhoff said.
It’s all fun and games until someone’s eye is poked out or, you know, it turns out you murdered him with malice aforethought, because you are among Allah’s elect and he is not.

After blasting old-timers, Baby Bhutto says old politics Pakistan's worst enemy
[GEO.TV] As parties go into electioneering mode, Pakistain Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari lamented on traditional politics terming it as the country's worst enemy and stressed the need to embark on "new politics", Geo News reported Friday.

Speaking at a workers' convention in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Mardan, Bilawal termed traditional politics as Pakistain's worst enemy and said: "We need to [embark] on a new political [direction and strategy] which will allow us to overcome the issues faced by the country."

He added: "Veteran politicians neither think about the present nor the future [as] they are still stuck in the past. We want to leave behind the politics of division, hate and abuse which [as part of] the traditional politics has been going on for the [past] 70 years."

While talking about modern-day politics and its benefits, the PPP leader said: "We have to become the voice of the 'new politics' [...] We think about the present and future and not what's in the past."

"Politicians who joined the "Mehangai league" [inflation party] will not remain electable anymore [due to their decision]," Bilawal said while referring to former ally Pakistain Moslem League-Nawaz supremo Nawaz Sharif
...served two three non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf, then by the courts...

and others — joining the PML-N's ranks ahead of upcoming general elections scheduled to be held on February 8 next year.

This is not the first time the PPP chairman — without taking any names — has taken a jibe against the PML-N and the party's possible prime ministerial candidate Nawaz.

A day earlier, while speaking in Abbottabad

Pakistan, Russia chalk out national strategies to combat terrorism
[GEO.TV] Pakistain and Russia outlined their national strategies and measures against militancy at the 10th meeting of the Joint Working Group on Combating International Terrorism and Other Challenges to Security, held in Islamabad on November 16, the Foreign Office said on Friday.

Additional Foreign Secretary Ambassador Syed Haider Shah and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Ambassador Sergey Vershinin co-chaired the meeting.

Besides sharing experiences and best practices, the two sides highlighted the importance of national efforts in the broader fight against terrorism.

Separately, Islamabad and Moscow discussed enhancing bilateral relations, counter-terrorism collaboration, and regional stability in a meeting of Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Jilani and the Russian deputy foreign minister.

'Use of force by any group, militia unacceptable', army chief tells Ulema
[GEO.TV] Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has warned that the use of force and armed action by "any militia, entity or group" other than the state is "unacceptable", a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the military’s media wing, the army chief made these remarks during an interaction with the leading Islamic scholars of all schools of thought, who called on him at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Friday.

"Pakistain belongs to all Paks without any religious, provincial, tribal, linguistic, ethnic, sectarian or any other distinction," Gen Munir said.

He warned that there is no space for intolerance and extreme behaviour by any entity against anyone, particularly against minorities and vulnerable segments of society.

The COAS, while lauding the Paigham-e-Pakistain Fatwa by religious scholars to nullify misleading propaganda disseminated by murderous Moslems and terrorists, called upon the Ulema and Mashaikh for its propagation and implementation in letter and spirit and shun internal schisms.

Speaking on the occasion, the COAS also signified the role of Ulema in harnessing youth towards understanding of Koran and Sunnah and character building alongside other academic knowledge and technical skills.

During the meeting, the Ulema unanimously condemned extremism, terrorism and sectarianism and pledged their continued support for the untiring efforts of state and security forces for bringing tolerance, peace and stability to the country, the statement also read.

The participants of the meeting underscored that Islam is a religion of peace and harmony and any skewed and distorted interpretations of religion by certain entities are for their vested interests only and have nothing to do with Islamic teachings.

Palestinian Authorities Cancel Christmas in Bethlehem to Honor Terrorists
[PJMedia] Palestinian authorities in control of Bethlehem, the town where Jesus was born, have banned Christmas decorations and displays this year, claiming that the move is in honor of the Gaza “martyrs” (i.e. terrorists) killed by Israel in the ongoing Hamas-Israel war.

A translation of a Facebook post from the municipality of Bethlehem, provided by Breitbart, said, “Bethlehem Municipality crews announced the dismantling of Christmas decorations installed several years ago in the city’s neighborhoods and removing all festive appearances in honor of the martyrs and in solidarity with our people in Gaza.”

When I was in Bethlehem recently, I saw huge signs warning Israeli citizens that they were “forbidden” to enter, cautioning: “Dangerous To Your Lives.” My tour guide explained that the signs apply specifically to Jewish Israelis. And unsurprisingly, the same Muslims who hate Jews also hate Christians.
